I was done with Rising when they refused to let Kim Iversen interview Fauci.
Funny how this is a bigger issue than what happened with Kim

Same here. To be honest I don't understand why they did the interview in the first place. They were never going to let Kim Interview him and the audience could see right through the BS.
@@mrt094and it was a softball interview too that didn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. It wasn’t memorable, nothing came out of it. It was embarrassing.
She bangs on about censorship and yet somehow managed to bring up the situation in Gaza almost every day, even in unrelated segments since October 7th last year. That must be a definition of censorship I was hitherto unaware of.
She was let go because of her increasingly intolerable manner towards both co-hosts and guests but there is no way she can admit to that.
Just unsubscribe from the Hills
Oh I did but now that she is gone the Hill just got tolerable.

Yes, I did that two weeks ago. I loved watching Briahna. I was surprised they allowed her say what she said. It's obvious they want to silence people.
Only good thing The Hill did was give us Breaking Points
And then Krystal turned full wine mom over Covid-19, Biden, and Ukraine.
Haha ..there both crap
Breaking Points has become something of a hang-out place for former Hill people. Heck, that's pretty much its entire essence.

@@vinasel96who's "we"?
McCarthyism as exemplified by what exactly? McCarthyism is a government crackdown on free speech, not a business disassociating with someone who can't control their behavior and then wishes someone to "drop a bomb on the place" after insulting anyone who disagrees with her opinions.
With no end in sight.
BJG is extremely rude and unprofessional. I couldn't care less when it comes to her.
Wasn’t BJG a defender of cancel culture when the targets were conservatives? Not happy she got fired but I think many would appreciate a rebuking of these kinds of practices. Admit free speech isn’t just a right wing tactic and give it its proper respect
She sure was, and my bet is, she still is when it suits her.
Why are you not happy she was fired? She wasn't fired for her opinion. She stated her support of the October 7 attacks on that very day and her support for the other side for months now and wasn't fired. She was fired specifically because she was unprofessional during an interview.
At what point can an employer fire an employee? Unprofessional isn't a legitimate reason?? Go watch the actual interview that got her fired and tell me she wasn't being sassy, bitter, petty, and vindictive, ridiculing the interviewee's worries about her sister who is still a hostage. She has a legitimate worry that her sister was and still is being a victim of repeated SA and Briana sighed, eye-rolled, and spoke over her during her final remark.
This whole post-firing media tour is her trying to spin it and make people sympathetic for her. She's a leech. No talent, no skill, no intellect, but definitely wanting to play the victim.

@@CanadianEhHole Screen-name checks out. She was pretty sympathetic in that interview, thought. She has made a career out of it.
Eh. She was the main reason I stopped watching TH (which I only stumbled across 2-3 years ago). One of my biggest pet peeves when watching these types of shows is when people are constantly interrupting each other. She was the main one doing that and it was very grating. Also, if she were anyone else and worked anywhere else, you'd probably call her out for her bad faith arguments, strawmanning, and constant attempts to dismiss sound arguments/POVs just because she doesn't agree with them.
It is what it is. She'll (continue to) forge a path somewhere else.
Agree with you fully. She is the queen of strawman and bad faith argument. Remember when Matt came and bodied her and she still didn’t have enough decency to admit her wrongs? It was about time they axed her. If they played her that’s wrong but she’s been a thorn for a while. This isn’t something that happened out the blue. She is horrible with guests and co hosts and often disrupts the show with emotional outbursts.
Yes which is why it’s weird Krystal is so supportive of her. Yes they are both obsessed with Gaza but at least Krystal used to be less dogmatic and truth seeking before Gaza
@@S62r It's not that weird when you consider that this entire cohort of hosts, talkers and viewers are pretty much brainwashed into thinking a thing is automatically good because it's not "mainstream." the problem with what Bri is saying is that even up to the end, the show did multiple blocks on I/P. Sometimes up to 4. So she's lying about the outcome. I'm talking real lies. The proof is plainly out there on youtube or The Hill's own site. She claims they limited it to 1 block. They just didn't. Which makes everything she says after suspect.

Total coincidence. Sure.
BJG has been rude to guests for months, see rising last interview with Matt Taibi, she was horrible. She wanted him to quit working on the Twitter files project to make a stand and yet was unwilling to quit rising. She was clearly obsessed with Israel/Palestine conflict to the point to where she was irritable all the time.
That's what making news though. Exposing Israel's lies and watching narratives fall by the wayside. The audience is only going to want to see more of what's behind the curtain.
Yeah, that was terrible. Cringeworthy. I had to turn it off when it became a shouting match. IMO Taibbi is not perfect, but he's many times the journalist BJG will ever be and she should show him due respect. BJG is a problem child and Palestine outrage does not actually help anyone, as the system is barely responsive to public opinion, especially the opinion of a small, vocal, unpopular political minority
I am with you on that.
Yeah, why can't she just smile and be sweet and polite when tens of thousands of civilians in Gaza are being murdered, and hundreds of thousands are being maimed and orphaned in Israel's assault? She didn't even smile when reporting on IDF atrocities like strapping barely-breathing Palestinians to their vehicles to use them as human shields. How rude of her.
@@Nilsosmar The issue is that she's letting it make her an angry person, and then she's going off on Matt Taibbi who is in no way culpable. That does no one any good. We need to step back from emotional involvement in big world issues we can't control, for our own sanity. There is no virtue in being angry or miserable over something one can't control.
This is not to say we shouldn't try to make our own small difference. For example, I donated to a reputable aid organization helping Palestinians but I barely think about the Gaza War.
She spoke freely for 8 months obsessively about Israel….without censor
I left Rising due to her demeanor….rude, bullying, unable to accept another’s POV, filibustering her co- hosts and guests, a constant bias …really insufferable treatment of others, bragging that she never reads her followers’ comments
on comment threads…..her tantrum take down of Matt Taibbi was the final straw for me . She is much better suited to a One Woman show in which she is the lead . It is her venue and she can say whatever, how ever, to who ever in any way she wants to. Bad Faith has been all Israel for most of this year….No doubt she is smart, and if I needed an attorney I would want one as tenacious and overbearing as Bri…..but on a commentary channel the ability to share respectfully talking space and head space is paramount
She's a fighter, progressives need a fighter!
Well said agree with all your points except the attorney part. I almost want to agree on that too but I don't believe she's all that smart

This is an issue as long as recorded human history, going back to when the Persians were fighting Alexander the Great and kept their Greek mercenaries in reserve because they were worried that if they deployed them they'd flip sides. Ok, sure. Your firing had nothing to do with the endless displays of rudeness, hectoring diatribes and utter disrespect you showed your colleagues or anyone who didn't blindly nod along with your. You are clearly the victim here.
Please do not hire Bri. She is terribly hard headed and emotional on every issue that even hints at questioning her own view.
Great example of why I stopped being a premium subscriber to BP. They're all about hyperbolic narratives first, insightful analysis second (or, just, never). Far from being "censored", Brie was out there railing against Israel every single day for EIGHT MONTHS without getting fired, and the axe only came down when she went full troll on a hostage's sister, insisting over and over again that the poor woman parrot BRIE'S talking points. If she'd been around doing this show in 2001, and they had the wife of a 9/11 victim on the show, she'd spend the entire time trying to get the widow to agree that 9/11 was just America getting its just desserts.
The 9/11 victim's wife probably would not have said that there was systemic r@ape on 9/11, and if she did those claims would be as accurate as the Israeli woman's, and should be responded to in the same way. You don't get to sprout lies that support genocide with no response.
The hostages sister was pushing propaganda. Everything Israel has been doing lately is disgusting and no is letting them off the hook for it. Notice how Israeli's finally stopped calling people who don't agree with them antisemitic? It wasn't working and now the word has no meaning.

Be honest, breaking points crew. Regular viewers of Rising have criticized the show for how they allow Bri to filibuster arguments and insult others. It has been the primary pain point for Rising for years.
The Hill platformed Briahna Joy Gray to talk negatively about israel for years, her wild takes on israel are not new, nor are they why she was fired.
This show can't be honest when it comes to the topic of Israel. The firing of Bri was a long time coming but because they want everything to be a conspiracy against pro-palestinians, 'censorship for critical views of Israel' is the only answer they will accept.

Because it's full of right wingers! Plus everyone knows people love to troll BJG. She's a strong voice on the left.
Because it's mostly a right-wing audience, like Breaking Points' audience. Have you seen the toxic comments toward Krystal on here?
Nah, after Bri lost her job, 80% of the comments were about how to unsubscribe. So, the majority of comments were about how upset they were that the Hill kicked Bri out. In fact, the Robby guy who defended ISR no matter what and argued with Bri was the most disliked and received a lot of backlash and criticism. Of course, ISR supporters dislike Bri and are pleased with her departure.
@@kathydb613 The Hill's audience does not skew right. Hence why the majority of comments on their videos since have been about bringing Briahna back or how they're not watching the Hill anymore.
#1 thing to realize is she wasn't fired for her opinion. She was fired for conducting an interview unprofessionally. Why interview someone who was clearly going to focus on her sister, who is still being held hostage, and belittling her concern, eye-rolling and sighing when she brings up worries about SA and r*pe, and then repeatedly cutting her off or just outright talking over her but technically not to her -- basically pushing her to the side of an interview, where she's the interviewee, so you can make political statements.
That was one of the most unprofessional interviews you could ever see and that's why she was fired.
@@kathydb613 That's not entirely true. That's just an excuse that is always used without evidence. I lean left on many policies and think she was terrible on that program. When it came to ISR, the Robby guy was unprofessional and did not care about facts or the truth. He can of course stay, despite numerous complaints about his poor behavior.
Let's be honest many in this alt-media space owe the Hill a great debt of gratitude. Despite an extreme difficulty in engaging curiously and objectively the Hill gave these people, who work off their own personal agenda and are victims to motivated reasoning, a platform to actually make it big.
The Hill lets you rent a room in their house and before you know it you've taken over half the property and bad mouth the guy who rented you the room in the first place.
The anti-establishment world view is, in a nut shell, "If you don't agree with me you are wrong and must be acting as a bad person. And I know I'm right because I am going against the mainstream/conventional understanding/what I learned in school"
What facile and disingenuous arguments, the lot of them. Rising is The Hill's most popular and profitable property, and it was created with the express intention of providing a populist and uncensored take as an alternative to traditional mainstream views. The Hill owes Rising, not the other way around. Rising isn't a tenant that took over half the landlord's property, it's a cash cow whose one singular problem is literally just that Israel can't take criticism. That's it. Don't even bother with the metaphors if you don't even understand the initial facts.
As for your last paragraph... Jesus fucking Christ. "If you don't agree with me you're wrong" isn't the anti-establishment worldview, it's everyone's worldview. Just as anti-establishment types are prone to believing in things by virtue of their being anti-establishment, so do establishment types believe establishment things by the same token.
Congratulations, your entire comment is wrong. I choose to believe you did it on purpose to troll or shill. There's no way AI would write this.
As long as The Hill (now under different ownership than when K&S were there) is up front with its contributors and audience about its mission and which voices and viewpoints will be platformed, then I’ll drop my beef with Rising. Will I choose to watch then? What would be the point? Fox & Friends or Morning Joe present the standard R&D perspectives with better production quality.
