- An accident on the set of the Alec Baldwin-starring western "Rust" that took the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has once again exposed the dangerous working conditions many Hollywood crews are forced to work under. On October 21, 2021, Baldwin accidentally fired a prop weapon on set during a rehearsal, believing it to be a "cold gun." The accident happened just hours after union crew members, protesting unsafe working conditions, were told to leave the set. The "Rust" incident is far from the first time a deadly accident has occurred on a film set. Here is a brief history of people killed on the set of a movie.

Baldwin and all of them broke several golden rules for handling weapons. Always check to see if a gun is loaded as soon as you touch it first thing I don’t care who tells you what always check, never point a weapon at anything you don’t intend to shoot. An 11 year old with hunters safety training would know much more about guns than these “experts”
Why in the hell would there be real bullets on a movie set?
Hollywood: “We’re anti gun! More restrictions!”
Also Hollywood: “Oops that was an accident. Sorry. We didn’t learn anything from The Crow. Oopsies” 🤷♀️
Exactly man 😭🤦♂️really ridiculous and stupid of Hollywood
Paul Mantz had a long career in the film industry as a stunt pilot. He died when the plane he was flying flipped over during landing. The accident occurred as they were filming a scene to be used in the 1965 movie; The Flight of the Phoenix. Paul Mantz was 61 when he died.
The greatest stunt performer of his time and arguably of all time, Dar Robinson, died while filming Million Dollar Mystery in 1986.
Phenomenal stunt performer...
I so agree I admired his bravery n kind personality. I wanted to name my son after him bt Noone agreed he was the best of all time!
Rest in peace to all of them !
Vic Morrow was a terrific actor as was Brandon Lee ! Neither should have happened as well as the young lady on the Rust movie set !
Incredibly sad
Stop saying the Rust shooting was an accident...tje assistant Director handed a loaded live round gun....remember she walked out with others over the poor safty
It was still an tragic accident NO matter how u look at it.
Was it though?
I remember the Hexum incident very well. He was a very good looking man.
I enjoyed his "Voyagers!" tv series.
I recently watched "Making of a male model" with him and Joan Collins. He was beyond handsome!! Still one of the best looking men from Hollywood!
Hey!.....I believe he was a Homosexual...

The Deadpool motorbike tragedy is another one..
Always check the firearm you are handed to make sure it is supposedly load with what it is supposed to be loaded. Duh!!!!
Vic morrow one of my favorite actor ,,so sad ..
heard about vic but never heard about the 2 young children. msm at its worst, except for now when everything is agenda based
Lived in Valencia when Vic Morrow and the two young children were killed... Landis deserved the Death Penalty...
This is horrible 🙏🏽 Rip to all who lost their lives
He killed her. Hello. He needs to be held accountable.
You already stated that above. Once was enough, because you're sadly incorrect.
I had the biggest crush on Jon Erik Hexum in high school. I even had a poster of him in my room. I was devastated when I found out how he died.
Me too....I was inconsolable, as I'm sure you were, as well. Gentle hugs from a stranger ...
I named my son after Brandon Lee & as a coincidence I named my daughter Shannon only to find out years later that Brandon’s sister’s name was also Shannon ! 💞❤️💞
I named one of my sons Brandon Lee and my other son Jordan. 😁👍
I also name my son brandon
I was named after Bruce Lee's daughter Shannon Lee Morrison Auch and I named my son Brandon Bruce Lee
Must not be a very big fan.
Thanks nicki for putting it together for us .
It's so sad that family's have these news broken to them my heart goes out to them tomorrow is not promised 💔
Not sure Kinnear falling off a horse deserves a payout of 10 MIL. Isn't that implied when you get on a horse you may fall? If he was worried he should have had a stunt double. He was a big guy. Not saying this to be rude. I am an ICU nurse and I have a chronic illness from working in ICUs for so long. That is a risk from working with really sick people with infections. The stunt doubles take a risk being stunt doubles as well. A change in safety is always important. The people killed by prop guns for sure is a lawsuit. Don't point the gun at a person or if you do make sure it's a fake one.
FYI. No such thing as a prop gun unless just a fake gun. They are real guns that should never be pointed at anyone. One of the first things person learns when handling guns. The gun’s ammunition should have also been checked.
This happen too often in movies
Jon Erik Hexum was mr Everything... the most Unbelievably handsome man ever, degrees in Mec Enginnering and Philosophy from a major college, piano, violeen, radio, Theatre in NY, a good organiser at his presidency in school, football, he could dive and swimm like a pro and then THIS! WHAT THE FCK HAPPENED?!
Baldwin preaching about those dangerous guns......Ooooops.
The twilight zone movie incident is actually still on CZcams, and very easy to find. Vic Morrow was actually decapitated as well as one of the kids.
Edit: The Steve Irwin film footage was destroyed upon asking his widow what to do with it. I’m not sure if she watched it or not, but she told him to get rid of it after that.
Yea but you can't really tell what's happening thank goodness.
Made me sick they let Landis get away with that crap

Rest in peace everyone who died.
Weapons masters/armourers need to be at movie sets all time
What they need to do is their jobs better when they are.
Everyone handling a gun needs to follow the 4 basic gun safety rules. These basic safety rules shouldn't go out the window just because it's a movie set.
1. Treat all guns as if they are always loaded.
2. Never let the muzzle point at anything that you are not willing to destroy.
3. Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot.
4. Be sure of your target and what is behind it.
@@rmkilc You know those rules because you’ve had training. No one can be held accountable for what they were never taught (beyond basic decency). I’m learning these things about guns now, for the first time, at age 52, only because of the recent incident. If I was put on a movie set 6 months ago, and told “This is a prop gun. It isn’t loaded,” I really don’t think I would have given it another thought. I tend to trust people in their area of expertise.
@@ChrisW228 Training by my dad at age 4. If anything, I hope this tragedy is a wake up call to those who haven't been around guns on how seriously gun owners and gun enthusiasts take gun safety. The NRA has been trying to get basic gun safety taught in schools but the left thinks ignorance is the better route.
@@rmkilc I hope you’re right. Since that hasn’t happened yet, though, I wish people would be more realistic about their expectations of Baldwin. I know several men (and even more women) who have never touched a gun and wouldn’t know how to check one.
Why have ammo on the set of any film
I know you have only souch time. Do you remember Peter Duel, Alias Smith and Jones?
John Erik Hexum was my favorite actor in the 80s. I used to fantasize about meeting him and.....well, I'll keep the rest to myself.
Yes I as well have never forgotten John Erik Hexum. I'm 64 now.....memories are powerful.
Jon-Erik Hexum
This is sad. I would point out that Baldwin may not have known the proper way to handle a gun. One knows that you never assume a gun is not loaded and never point a gun at anyone. These are two rules that responsible gun users always follow.
Only when you are educated.
Baldwin lacks knowledge and common sense...
@@jeanettedombroski3934 I’m surprised he didn’t know gun safety-he thinks he is an expert on everything.
Benhur had death during the chariot race scene. There's many deaths with stunt drivers.
The Crow it was a part of a blank that was left in the chamber.
Alec isn't comfortable with guns and that definitely played a part.
Why was he pointing the gun at her??? Who's going to ask this question?
She was behind the camera
We were supposed to be seeing the scene from the viewpoint of the actor he was allegedly shooting, so we were looking down the barrel of the gun. The only way to do that is to point at our viewpoint, the lens. Anytime you’re watching something and looking down a barrel, it’s aimed at the camera person.
@@ChrisW228 Now I understand, Thank you very kindly for answering, I really appreciate it, I haven't heard anyone explain it 🙏

The Joker character it's cursed. It caused death in one way or another...everytime. wow
I only know of the Heath Ledger incident what other deaths occured with the other Joker appearances? Would appreciate if someone could give a report on the other deaths.
@@lonknight3197 That's why I said, "in one way or another " .. There is several reports that point out about psycological disturbances that the character provoke on the actors. They need to become "crazy" basically for real, and for some reason, actors get obsesed about the role and they go to the extreme if necessary. Now this channel is telling me that another actor died while doing the Joker.Well. It's a mistery.

This is some terrifying stuff...my daughter finished her military pilot career without incident but she has missed it to the point she has flown with some stunt pilots lately eg strapped to a mount above a bi plane having to climb up and strap up there in flight. She posted the manuever taken from a camera mounted on the plane she posted it all on FB and it terrified me.
I am a long distance sailor and have had to be hanked on to deck run lifelines to go forward to deal with sails but doing something in midair like that is scary...my husband has had to do top of the mast work hoisted up with a safety harness and line...I just dont know how stunt people do the things they do....my sailing days are over but my greatest fear was when my husband was on watch alone...we both had to alternate watches underway so I was alone too but I always woke him if I had to go forward on the deck hanked on...I always feared he might not wake me and I would wake up to find him just flat out disappeared overboard or worse yet, hanked on over the side drowned body being dragged in the water behind the boat...Some ferocious accidents happen on sailboats, freak accidents...one racing female sailor was scalped when her long hair caught on a halyard...she died of her injury. THAT caused me to cut my hair 3 inches long til my sailing days were over.
Thank you for sharing your story... what an incredible and adventurous, albeit dangerous, life. The beautiful aspect about what you've written, is that you must also have amazing memories of islands and far away places that you were able to visit. I bet you could write a book about your life's adventures at sea. Again, I truly appreciate you sharing your personal experiences, as I haven't had the opportunity to live a life like that, so it painted a vivid picture for me! Take care 🤗

Heath didn’t die on set
Nor by a gun
He isn’t on the list. He was mentioned in the special effects director’s death, only to say that Heath wasn’t the only person to die during filming.

The fact remains he still killed someone. Something is suspicious about this it's not adding up.
Who on earth are you talking about? Were you present at any of the events mentioned here? Lame…
Do you check every piece of a co-workers work when it’s handed off to you? Do you check your brakes every time you drive even though it passed inspection? It’s ridiculous for anyone to even try to place this one an actor, any actor. The armor was responsible and in the recent case, she proved the studio responsible because they made her do two jobs at once.
Can't find the airplane or the pilot ? Could it be possible that he faked his own death and is living somewhere else in a different life ?

Jon-Erik Hexum
There was a time, I once liked John Landis, until he stiffed those Vietnamese families, out of the monies they so richly deserved. And he didn't seem that remorseful abt everything that happened.
How he was able to continue making movies in Hollywood, is beyond me.
Svetnoy show your documentation expressing your concerns prior to the accident.
So you made this after the Baldwin incident
Too get the views$$$$
They don’t need these guns when they can add gunfire in special effects. It’s ridiculous.
To my understanding, that’s up to the director, and like anywhere, different directors have different clout. If a megawatt director says, “I want it authentic,” the people expecting millions from his brilliance make sure that he gets what he wants.
Since the movie isn't released we have absolutely no idea what kind of shots they were trying to get. They probably didn't just want the gunfirebm effect. Having a gun prop wS probably very crucial to the scene. Please stop speculating

Not sure about the children but Vic was more than just “slashed”, he was decapitated..😢
So what that he cooperates with police , the girl is dead. What is he going to do about this?
What can he do? No one meant for the woman to die. He won't be charged with anything, no one will. Her own family don't even blame him. He was doing his job. He pointed the gun towards the camera and shot. Due to the person not doing their job, he shot out a real bullet.

Not Baldwin's fault.
It was a rehersal where he had to shoot at the camera. He was told it was a cold gun. Im sure he feels guilty and likely will for a long time but he bears no responsibilty for this
He killed her. Period. The gun was not a prop..
He pointed a gun and fired it. How is it not his fault? He could have learned gun safety but he chose not to despite using guns on sets. If you use a gun for a living you should know basic gun safety.
I'm of two minds here. On one hand, it wasn't his fault because it was the weapons guy whose job it was to make sure it was a cold gun. But on the other hand, he was going to fire the gun so he should take responsibility. If I worked with and shot guns as part of my job, I'd take a gun safety course or get a license or something.
It is his fault he had a loaded gun in his hand . He needs to hold accountable . You and others are siding with baldwins its fault
They need to quit doing this so soon after death of someone
I remember John Erick Hickson He was so adsome I remember watching show that he was on every weekend I also remember Brandon Lee Farhana so sad so tragic people have too use guns in a movie 🎥 set it should be band Farhana

.99.9% of gun owners know that always handle your gun as loaded. That way you check to make sure it is empty.
YOU GOT LOVE YOUR WORKING , AND THE PEOPLE WHO WORK FOR YOU , LOVE THEM TAKE CARE OF THEM ,,
Why can’t they just take the firing pins out of the guns?
Then the actors would have to say "bang bang".
Exactly it's not rocket science how can any thinking human being fire a gun without checking the validity of wether its loaded or not f f sake
@@annemarievanleeuwen9959 Do you know how to do that? I don’t. We should be able to trust our colleagues to do their job. Can you imagine how many things would grind to a halt if every person in any risky industry or setting checked the work of the person before them in the chain? Each individual is in charge of safety for their own part. It’s called “good faith.” It’s why if your brakes go out and you kill someone, no one says, “You shouldn’t have trusted your last inspection.
