      @@Enriquez2222 the influencers making the video's make their money from the platform they post on. And probably from affiliate links if people buy through the links to the products they provide. This latter they often don't disclose too.
      As for the people getting influenced to buy it all. Probably are breaking the bank. Or going into credit card debt.
      Just assume everything they show in these restock videos is an add. Or just in general. These days everyone is trying to sell you stuff.

      It's a way to show that you are indifferent to rules, and so are cool. Gen X and Y did this with Converse Chucks, Vans and Dr. Martens. We never cleaned our shoes, and wore them until they were almost falling apart. The dirtier and more wrecked they looked, the cooler you were, but we did it by wearing them everyday. The flapper generation (1920s) also did this with their saddle shoes. They had to be scuffed and dirty, so they would deliberately scuff them even if they were brand new, and the dirtier they got the cooler they looked. The boomers did the same with their jeans. They wore their 1950s Levis almost everyday until they were falling apart. It was a way to rebel against the formalities of adult life which everybody inevitably had to conform to after college - but could "rebel" against again during the weekends. I draw the line, though, with paying a high price to get the look. That's cheating. I guess because Millennials and Gen Alpha grew up with the internet so they want instant results?

    Now that I think about it, it was weird when we all had our jeans ripped, but to be fair they’re still in fashion. I only own a pair of ripped jeans but I bought them bc at the time I didn’t have any black jeans and those were the only ones, I don’t use them as often but they’re in good condition
    I want to ask your opinion on collecting things for fun. For example in the past it could be a post stamp collection, but now it’s something else. I don’t support collecting every single item but maybe if someone really likes cute pens, or in this case perfumes, is it that bad?

    • @BeyondTheBuzzz
      @BeyondTheBuzzz  Před 2 měsíci +5

      There’s nothing wrong with having a collection such as you referred post stamp collection, but when it comes to Skin Care, Perfumes. These items have a shelf life, so they can only be used for a specific period of time. I have skincare I use personally I’ll buy a cleanser let’s say it last me half a year. She had like years worth of supply even a decade cause these things go bad probably won’t even use it and would be forced to throw em away. When it comes to Stanley cups, you don’t need a Stanley cup for every single color. It’s wasting money and one does the job. So yes having a collection isn’t bad but when it comes to certain things it’s clearly an issue!

    I'm about to clock off here and do some shopping. Now I'm going to my local mall so there's going to be a lot of stuff I will see and want as it's been a while since I did shopping as I work all over the country. This is what I do. I have chosen the stores, have a list of specific items and will be doing my time honoured method of want v. need. There will be items I want but do I need them. For example, I want a pair of tailored trousers but I see an amazing pair of jeans as I go to the trousers section. I want them, but do I need them? The answer will be no, because I have 15 pairs already and half either don't fit, or don't go with any of my clothes because they look weird. I NEED tailored trousers because I have three amazing blouses I can't wear because I have no decent tailored trousers. Think before you shop is what I'm trying to say. Spending money on stuff you don't need is hurting not only the planet but also your wallet.

I'd have to be in some dire straights to get rid of my collections, they genuinely make me smile. Even cleaning them, because you get to handle each item and arrange it nicely. And no, I bought a $20 pair of shoes at Target 15 years ago, they're falling apart, but I can't justify shoe prices to I just keep them.
