This game and Prostreet are the only NFS games where I'm literally scared to go at top speeds. The sense of speed in these games are on a whole another level
Not to mention if the cars in the those two games crashed so hard or rolled over the race and the game had to be restart
100% agree. I have played a LOT of racing games in my day and the Shift Games and Pro Street were the only times that driving at the highest level was actually terrifying. I remember playing Shift 1 and just dumping all my money early on into making an RX7 Works car just to see what the upper end of the game felt like.... That was a mistake lol
@@jjhoops023 works conversion cars are all monsters in shift and shift 2. The acceleration on those cars are ridiculous.
@@jeevant.s2633 my final Works car in Shift 2 taught me to respect throttle control lol. It was a Corvette with the GT1 engine swap. I think I was only able to use half throttle until I hit 4th gear it would spin soooo easily
I think Burnout 3: Takedown still has the best sense of speed, but i agree with you.
Worst selling but no where near the worst NFS.
Shift 2 was actually freaking good (If you like sim-ish type racing games). And it had a nice progression.
Shift 2 handling was poo. It was unplayable for me it was so bad. Loved Shift 1 though.
@@omgvague Yeah, the main issue is the handling. Too slippery for many, but once you install handling mod like GTyres, it handles so much better.
@@BlackRockStella I did try that handling mod, but I think I was already so frustrated with the game that I didn't bother playing much longer. It felt like the cars were anchored in the center and rotated on a pivot instead of steering at the front. it was so weird.
@@omgvague Yeah, it's basically for masochists. But if you understand the physics, you can go under 6 minutes around Nordschleife.
handling is a motherfucking disaster, it really has input delay no matter how hard you turn using tghe analog stick
"I've played many nfs games"
*finishes the race*
Vaughn junior: Not bad for a beginner
Coco Hayashi: I've already played many NFS games before.
Whoever didn't buy it missed out, that game was awesome
i actually bought it, i enjoyed up to the point when my race built caterham spun out after turning to the right at about 0.5° of steering angle
That mazda RX8 drifty boi.. was on a another level
This game got ridiculously hard when u entered the gt series of races like wtf and night races are on a whole another level of shit ur pants
@@Thatotherschmuck fr this is one of the few racing games I actually felt challenged it was insane trying to drive a mclaren in the night races
💩
The fact that nfs shift and test drive unlimited had different speedometer for every car is so sick
Like just small things like these show that they put effort in making the game
Agree.
that one freaking effort
i always loved seeing the speedometer of the Zonda R in the game.
Also the race cockpit upgrade on road cars is a nice touch.
As NFS player since 1998 imo theres nothing confusing about those games nor pro street. Imo the "problem" is that its too much for the NFS players that loved their Black Box driving on rails 3 years+ age difficulty and could not handle it xD
The only problem for me is steering sensitivity cannot be adjusted.
Exactly I hate this childish fanbase that's why the new games are rubbish
@@GF-mf7ml actually it can be adjusted in the advanced settings. Both steering sensitivity and deadzone can be adjusted.
Arcade racer game players liked arcade style handling, thanks for your intriguing feedback.

nfs games like this, mw2012, and rivals are in that kinda weird class where they’re fun racing games, but aren’t exactly considered “true” need for speed games like the more popular ones.
They are True, Porsche Unleashed was a simcade. They are true NFS games, fans who's opinions included MW and UG2 as "THE BEST" should be ignored entirely.
Rivals was literally a sequel to Highstakes, how was that not a true NFS ?

Outside of Vaughn Gittin ALWAYS talking, this is probably, unobjectably the BEST made NFS game they ever sold. Like, it may not be the best game, but the sheer level of detail in this game is absolutely ridiculous, from the lighting, to the rubber debris on the track, to the sounds of the suspension bushings creaking and parts bottoming out, like all of it's just top notch. They REALLY cared about this game
I'm with you, they should have did something different with the car handling though lol they like to slide a little too much
Detail isn't what the people want.
They live simple lifes and publishers and developers already understood, that the stupid mass want a game to tell them the are awesome from the tutorial on. Something Diablo 2 never had for example 🤣
Plus the need to be rewarded every 5 seconds like single mom did it in their upbringing.
Sounds harsh, but in the end it is just the truth
@@Jesterix88 well I grew up with nfs high stakes and gran turismo 2. So I learned early on to appreciate the little things, like being able to use turning signals, or down force actually visually affecting the car sits on the road

they should do exactly that! forza also gone square
I loved playing this game so much especially the drifting events, it was amazing. I'd love to see you grind this game out in the channel.
Same shift and shift 2 are among my favorite need for speed games I ever played.

I loves both of um, especially the dials
Need For Speed Shift was a huge part of my childhood. There was an android version which was spectacular. Used to play it while on class.
In class* gotta stay focus in class 🥴
Shift 2 was an amazing game, I absolutely love when you upgrade your car and then have the final form for the "race spec" can't remember what they called it but loved how it had an engine swap and you can hear the transmission whine, then the first person view was 👌

@@iamdanyc93 I agree. Really enjoyed the emphasis it put on multiple racing disciplines. I wish they'd do third but I know that's never going to happen.

This is one of my most favorite NFS games, the sense of speed when using helmet cam is phenomenal. The car sounds, the effects, the story, everything is amazing
Still to this day, Dec 1 2022, there are few racing games that give you that sense of speed like shift 2. That straight gear noise gives me a chub every time.
Shift 2 was my most played NFS game and I started with NFS3 back in the day. Just upgraded my PC before it came out, so i was able to enjoy it's nice graphics. Played it with a driving force gt wheel and it felt amazing compared to the very arcadey previous games. Those i played with keyboard, and loved them too, but not as much as Shift and Shift2. I just grew tired of the wallriding and not needed to brake controls of the game after a while.
The shift sub-series is probably the most hated in NFS. An absolute shame, I played both of them a lot. My NFS history goes all the way back to NFSIII Hot Pursuit or Porsche Unleashed 2000, I can't remember which one was first.
@@DrivingGod21 OHHH!!! dude nfs porsche unleashed was literally my first nfs game as well! That sheet was the bomb back then, i literally dont understand how shift 1 and 2 didnt do well, i think NFS pro street is the best need for speed because it takes everything that need for speed is and just smashes it into 1 single game, and everything just works you had a mix of open driving roads in speed events down to close circuit races and parts of terrain that felt like you were on the track and in real streets but racing legally was so much fun man, i remember the firs time i got nfs rivals and within the first 2 hours i just binned it because it was just too much of the same thing and the arcade physics was not doing it for me, Shift 1 lambo murcielago sounds where GODLY i have not played shift 2 because no1 has a copy available for sale i was really lucky to get my hands on shift 1 but if shift 2 s anything like shift 1 then i know im going to enjoy it
@@DrivingGod21 thing about NFS was it never was (mostly) always about car culture only (thanks to underground which they have) i actually liked them doing new things and i cant blame them, shift actually was like a sequel to prostreet if you think about it but was more serious and grounded in terms of the theme.
@@civicrider5556 ahh yes nfs underground 2 i get why this became a really popular choice for the best nfs game out there, but it got really frustrating really fast, the rubberbanding was so harsh that it killed all the fun, i remember a drag racing event where you were racing in a trainyard and the ai for some reason would always win regardless of your horsepower so like 70% of all the drag racing events was just up to luck because of the weird physics every time you changed lanes it was super wobbly and yhe stupid rubberbanding nfs underground 2 could have been a real gem for me, instead i went to play STREET RACING SYNDICATE which was a real delight, i absolutely loved it when i was a child... Also got to see a lot of japanese... adult actors in street racing syndicate just look up on google STREET RACING SYNDICATE all videos unlocked
I used the driving firce gt to when I played this game
Shift and Shift 2 are my favorite NFS games. Up there with ProStreet. I remember the damage and helmet cam looking towards the apex of the turn being so big for the time. Also the drag dlc with the Kaz Twins Viper and Chris Rado Scion TC (Drag and Time Attack)
I'm of the belief that this game makes you better at other games. it amplifies every single mistake you make, showing you where your errors are much better than other racing games.
6:59 no. a GTI in that series is HARD.
I didn't even know there was a shift 2 until a week ago when I started playing pro Street on an emulator🤣🤣
I played Shift 2 and the boss cars were the hardest ones ever to get. It is a good game but honestly, it wasn’t the best of them. The customisation was OTT, and drifting was so hard to master. All I say is good luck Theo, if this series continues.
Midnight club still Cancelled 😂😂
Soz
the atmosphere actually fits the grid series a lot
Shift 2 was very challenging on career. Running a race with not making contact the whole race and staying in 1st for 1 full lap. I do love Forza, but sometimes when a game is too easy isn't fun. I remember hours watching my dad on Gran Turismo 2 grinding and restarting on long races. He would resart nearly a second before the finish line... and now I do the same thing 😂
shift 2 is so underrated, it makes me sad
this game was so good... i also loved that every track had a remix for menu, race, etc. that was crazy. imagine this would be mixed with "heat" on day time you do legal races like this with cool cinematic music and on nighttime you go underground with same tracks but different style for typical underground racers n stuff. i also love the additional follow cam. need that again
This game had such a unique car list
@BLACKPANTHAA I actually loved this game when it came out...I loved the fact the you can customize your car from stock to street to racecar...and the interior was customizable. And it was a NFS game with cockpit view that none other has done before
this game has the best cockpit view in a racing game ever
This and Drive club have the absolute best cockpit views.
I really liked Shift 2, I enjoyed the Helmet cam too, this was the first NFS to do engine swaps. In the S3 u can put the R8 engine in it. The drifting was soo much better than the first one, it even had proper drift tracks
It was definitely hot pursuit with the cars handling like it was on rails, nfs went from super arcade handling to more “simulation style” handling and it threw everybody off
The handling is a certified Slightly Mad classic. Still better compared to Ghost's NFS titles though
The handling/physics were so terrible I couldn't do more than like 15 races before uninstalling
I still playing it sometimes and I love it. I never will understand why people want every NFS game another underground or most wanted. I don't have that era and can't tell how good those games are because never played them but I know I love all NFS games from Carbon. I born into the ps3 era so my childhood was undercover, and prostreet and I have all other NFS games what is on PS3 and I love all.
"I never will understand why people want every NFS game another underground or most wanted. I don't have that era and can't tell how good those games are because never played them".
Well that's why you will never understand. Go back and play most wanted 05 and 1 hour in you'll realise why people just want another one. They are by far the greatest games in the franchise and still do most mechanics better than the games nowadays. NFS Heat is the closest we've had to a game being on that level but it fell short in almost every aspect compared to MW.
It's not a matter of later NFS games being bad. It's just they aren't as good as MW.
@@JCglitchmaster I've been wanting a sequel to the Underground, Most Wanted 05, Carbon storyline for YEARS, and now after 16 years I've nothing, I've lost all hope in the Need for Speed franchise. I haven't cared about any new NFS titles in years as they've all been disappointing and are nowhere near the level of the 2003 to 2007 era of Need for Speed games. It seems like a lot more love and care was put into the mid-2000s NFS games, and it pains me sooo much that modern NFS titles appear to just be hallow shells ment to make Electronic Arts (more like Especially Atrocious) as much money as possible.
I love how every car in this game has it's own unique speedometer in 3° person camera
was a big detail and now we get these generic digital all the same in the game .
@@rosslansberg6323
Eh TDU 1 introduced style this fun fact.
It was one of my favorite games on the PS3. I was 11 then so not much understanding of wrong physics but I learned what drift is and different race classes. I really liked the Drift Alliance S13 and the 3 rotor RX-8 for drifting. Also great progression and some of the works cars were pretty good.
Played and completed both Shift games on 360. Payed full price so i did all i could :P
This game has THE best in helmet cam view in any racing game. Plus the camera shake and head tilt into the turns is great. Fight me.
Ah the good ol days of having to restart the same race over and over and over because of the ai crashing into me and messing me up
The part about the views in track games is actually a thing. From the perspective of fov and awareness of surroundings, hood view is indeed closer to real-life driving, if you don't have a 3-screen or widescreen configuration. Only widescreen or vr can make cockpit view better than hood view in terms of driving experience.
The issue with this games handling is that there is two sensitivity zones in each steering direction and no smoothing between them, so you'll be turning and your steering will suddenly get way faster in an instant. It's a bizarre design decision.
That and the input lag that exists for no reason. Plus cars bounce like they are a low rider bouncing up and down and the lack of grip especially at high speeds where cars will just spin out for no reason at all
The atmosphere of shift 1 and shift 2 is insane that game was so good the soundtrack and the vibes in general.. also great car list and the bodykits were awesome
I remember playing the figure eight map with max racers and 99 laps I think and it was just complete demolition derby, the funnest thing I did in my days, I remember once I drove under two cars that collided head-on and made an arch!
This game was perfect when released wayback, my 360 churned out hours on this disk. The immersive experience they went for along with THE BEST SOUND EFFECTS of the generation for a console racing game, make this better than a monetary success........it makes Shift 2 a cult classic. Love you carrera Gt sound effects ill never forget you x x
Project Cars 3 is where SMS finally got out of the box pad controls right and great imo and same for car handling.
Yup
I remember on shift I tune my rs4 to the max and took it online to race and this guy joined in with a lambo thinking he was gonna win but down a straight it was like racing a 1000 horse power car. Anyway down that quarter mile on the track his lambo lost miserably and he quit and I was like what’s his problem.
The sense of speed is crazy. Especially the helmet cam. I love the games dark gritty theme. Also, it was developed by Slightly Mad Studios, so I dare say it's Project Cars 0.5. They kept a similar helmet cam in Project Cars but it's not really the same in my opinion.
This game has some of the best music in ANY game. They remixed the soundtrack songs three times each specifically for the game in three different styles (Cinematic, Gladiator, and Dirty) to capture different emotions throughout the gameplay.
That concept should totally be expanded more in a future NFS game.
11:25 I think Undercover was the one that started the downhill of NFS games. And then NFS just wasn't as good as 00's NFS era
I agree with this the very last good good NFS game before heat was prostreet. Undercover was so embarrassingly bad but it was so rushed I cannot blame blackbox for making what they made when they were working on 3 AAA games at the same time. Shift 1 and 2 are awful imo the run is alright mw2012 isn't a bad game itself but not a good NFS game especially when it's called mw. Rivals wasn't terrible but I wasn't a huge fan of it personally. 2015 is well 2015, good consept cringe "story" and awful handling. Payback wasn't super bad but not super great but at least you could control your car in it but the upgrade system was so bad. Then heat is really really good I just wish ghost still existed so they could have updated it more and added more things to it. It truly had so much potential it makes me sad
@@borncomatose At this point I'm just wishing Black Box were back to NFS. Besides that Undercover and The Run wasn't that great (they alright), Black Box were still my favourite developer
@@m.raihanammarfachrezixpplg7898 the only reason why the run and ESPECIALLY undercover were so bad is because of time constraints but I still don't know how graphic wise undercover looks worse than underground 1 on the GameCube. The game should have just been scrapped imo, it had potential but almost every game ever has potential to be something so that really doesn't say much. At least The Run as a game itself is playable and looks pretty good and it's fun but it's just short on content. It's a fun game to speed run tho besides from the fact that loading screens have a set time to them so no matter your storage device either a hard drive or a SSD or the best GPU in the world the loading screens will always be the same length no matter what and the game likes to crash on PC and running it at 60fps causes weird issues with the effects of the snow areas or grass parts where it'll cover the whole screen. Just watch KuruHS play the run and you'll see what I mean but it's pretty funny tho. I do wish the story was longer tho because the game itself is a lot of fun and looks really pretty still to this day. I blame the frostbite engine for that tho that's why every battlefield game since like 4 still looks pretty decent to this day
@@borncomatose I think the reason why Undercover graphic was pretty bad is because they overused the bloom effect since they were known to make the game looks HD. Burnout Revenge on Xbox 360 were also using those, and some people claim it looks worse than the PS2 version (KuruHS aswell).
Yeah I wish The Run story was a little bit longer. The levels in this game is just fun to play and replay again. I played the PS3 version and sure it has longer loading times, only in 30 FPS I think, but I don't think I remember the game managed to crash. But still, it's fun to play
This is the game where i discover who dale heart jr is , also the sound track was amazing and also the into cinematics of the camera flashing, and the crash was ahead of the game . Took us into the eyes of actual racing now all rainbows and happiness
Hey blackpanthaa neat vid.
Of that era of nfs games I think nfs shift could've been a different game that's leaning more sim not under the need for speed banner. They could've had that game under a new title from ea other than the more arcade style need for speed. Maybe if it wasnt branded under need for speed maybe it could've done better in terms of sales.
What I think unfortunately crushed black box is unfortunately need for speed the run maybe. Which is sad actually because that game had good potential going for it. Maybe if they made it open world with a story maybe that could've done a bit better or maybe extend the length of the campaign maybe, add more of those action/escape the cops or the bad guys missions with more of the quicktime sequences which I think correct me if I'm wrong was the or at least one of the main selling points of nfs the run.
The bottom line in my opinion is I think nfs shift should've been a separate game since it seems like it has a neat concept but I don't really think it fits for need for speed. I think need for speed should remain arcady but not as arcady as burnout or a game for example like ridge racer.
This is my take on this. Be safe blackpanthaa and have a good day.
Hey Blackpanthaa how did you get the Drag and standing mile DLC in NFS Shift 2. Can you please help me I can't download it or find it in Google
I personally loved this on PC, I finished it twice, I lowkey wanna play it again to be honest..
Im a huge nfs fan for every game im play...ever shift 2 i done the career also DLC i done too this year...one of the unrelated nfs game...this game was good but one thing i hate crash physics between me and ai pushing me into the grass instantly and also crashing into wall can total your car instantly....but yeah i never forgot this game the soundtrack was mind blowing
I was surprised when I saw that title, that game was a big element of my childhood and still gives me nostalgia, esspecially that music, I remember playing every day as a kid trying to "master" every track as I go along. Sadly I never finished the game, I think I finished everything up until the "Endurance" races and then I grew up and things changed.
I used to love seeing all the gold events meaning I had completed them.
my fingers hurt from those endurance races

They reused the Ebisu map from Prostreet you can see there's Aki Kimura banner somewhere in North course
It was a track focused need for speed with no cops
That's why its the worst selling
This game was great. I enjoyed the racing and the story mode. This was one of the first games where you could swap out your engine for a fully built race engine when progressed in the game.
This game has the best sense of speed of any game ever
I also loved how if you upgraded your engine but kept the stock clutch, you'd spin the clutch lol
drifting is GOAT in this game
Maybe that's the let's play to do building up to NFS 2022, Theo? I would love to see you go through that game.
Well... for me NFS HP will always have special place in my heart, i've played it as a child. The Run was really great but way too short and the Shift, I just skipped, so i don't have opinion at this point.
What I love the most about Shift and Shift 2 is when you begin to speed up THAT GLORIOUS WHINE FROM THE ENGINES
Wasn't NFS Porsche the worst selling NFS game?Porsche sold only 360k copies and the reason for the low sales were Piracy Issues.Yes,the game was rather cracked than purchased and this led EA to cancel the planned sequel NFS Ferrari.
It was good NFS even its not full arcade racing like other NFS
Gladiator mix / orchestra mix of the music is such a vibe
Physics also okay
Nice Progression
nice track selection
Car list also decent
works upgrades on each cars and customization also good
NFS The Run was a joke. You can complete the game in like 2 hours... wtf is that?
NFS Shift had nice progression. At the time - Insane graphics. Nowhere near the worst NFS.
Yes it might get boring after time. But a good freaking game for sure.
Nah I'd rather play the run 10 times in a day than play 30 mins of shift 1 or shift 2. At least the physics in the run are usable and you don't spin out in high class cars every 3 seconds due to input lag and awful suspensions. The cars bounce and bounce and bounce and there's no grip at all.
I loved playing this as a kid. I completed every event and I loved the sim racing elements. This is a precursor to project cars because it was made by slightly mad studios.
I loved shift 2 on the ps3, it was my first REAL track racing game and it was so aggressive. Plus the helmet cam was ahead of it’s time, still the best interior camera of all time, for AAA games
I *assume* that when this game released, or when the first Shift released, people thought this was an arcade circuit racer. But obviously, they were wrong. I think the fact thst the fans at the time were thrown off by the new physics is what hurt its big potential to be a very well praised NFS game. Also, I think people be sleeping on the soundtrack, its AMAZING
Couldn't have said it better. SHIFT driving physics literally should be NFS new engine..it felt so wonky yet incredible to find tune!!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Physics was wacky, yeah, but immersion and the soundtrack was just something else. Something i still love about this game to this day
Also, wasn't this game released completely out of the original NFS time table, and almost by surprise? I remember this game was released in the beginning of 2011, without much anticipation, while everyone was clearly expecting the october/november release, which was The Run.
Also, Project Cars was originally supposed to be Shift 3, but EA screwed Slightly Mad over.
Fun fact:
the physics engine in shift 2. Set the baseline code needed for Project cars 1 & 2. So theres a reason why they feel similar.
I loved how you could change all cars into proper racing games, bodykit, strapping interior, racing seats, gauges, rollcage, engine swap, little games allows all of that.
Biggest problem for it was coming around gran turismo 5... and EA.
I loved that game and still do I still have it for my xbox 360 and still hop on it from time and time again to revisit my favorite game when I was younger
I understand that shift wasn’t what fans wanted at the time but i think this series is so underrated like the games are actually really good
Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2 for PS2 in 2002 is not the worst selling Need For Speed due to it's TRIPLE A+ QUALITY GAMEPLAY AND PRODUCTION VALUES. EAT IT.
EA could remaster Underground 2, Most Wanted and Carbon and release them as a street racing trilogy then remaster ProStreet, Shift and Shift 2 and release them as a closed circuit trilogy and I'd buy both in a heartbeat. At least we can play all of the games on PC.
We can? Explain this to me as I don't have a CD drive and can't seem to find any downloads. Like where do I go? I need those OG 3 back rn
Sadly possible since well, Black Box is dead and the rights to those games are stuck in limbo basically as a result
@@jonasrhude2325 I should have clarified you can play them if you have a pc copy or download them from a less than legal site (I do not condone piracy)
NFS undercover Anyone Remember😢, That Game Gameplay was UNDERRATED..
Project cars 3 is the spiritual successor of this game...that sense of speed/dark gritty look/speed gauges on the right were a underappreciated feature
I m gonna be fair, it's not the game i was hoping for from NFS theme, like it was completely off the rails as to where NFS was heading, but if we don't consider that,i think it's a great game, i would definitely say to try this out, i enjoyed the music and graphics, i do believe it is great fun to play
I recently got Shift 2 for PC - easily one of my favourite Xbox 360 racing games, and up there in my favourite racing games of all time. With mods, and the capabilities of a modern mid/high end PC, it is an incredible game.
Honestly, If it wasn't because of the "Magnetic" Collision and laggy steering input(about a half second), It'll definitely become my favorite.
Reasons:
1. The track list are AMAZING, It's introducing me a track i never heard about like Zolder, Enna Pergusa, Hockenheimring back in 2012 when i first playing it.
2. Car Sound are straight up EARGASM, 4A-GE on the AE86, 2JZ on the A80 Supra, and the 13B on the FD3S RX-7 is (Arguably) the best engine sound that even can compete nowadays game such as GT7 or Forza Horizon 5 🤝🏼
3. Body and Interior customization, Which makes me wonder why SMS didn't implement this on PC3. It's truly a perfect opportunity for them since a lot of street cars are available on PC3.
4. Small detail like the Temperature Gauge goes up if your car are overheat, how the bonnet tilt down if you revving up the engine, etc.
Well, That's all from me folks. Wish SMS would allow us to customize our car on PC4 just like S2U did
Pants rejoins the track stupidly*
Also Pants:nooo they have to respect me
Does anyone know where to buy the steam or origins version are? I used to play it on Unofficial ways and having fun at it, but now they are hard to be found, meanwhile the EA still using Shift 2 banner as their banner sales in steam.
seems like unofficial way is your only option nowadays, since the gaem is no longer available on steam
Man this game is hard to play in keyboard and controller even in eady mode. EA is like telling me to buy a damn Steering wheel setup just for this game.
0:53 what? How did you manage to race in campaign? The Autolog and online servers shut down a year ago! 4 years ago (2018) I got a origin cd key for this game. Obviously it was fine 4 years ago because they didn’t shut it down. I played it for the whole 2018 year, and during that time, I played it often. Then 2019 was the last year I would play this game. Not as often as 2018, just kind of sometimes or just normally. In 2020 or 2021 I played this game to see what changed and that pop up was never there and I could play the game. But now just earlier today I installed origin and logged in to play it again. I saw the pop up when they shut down the servers. When I went to career and tried to load a race, it would crash. Same happened when I tried to load a quick race in the “QUICK” section in the main menu. Please help me!
Nothing feels the same to this.
The helmet cam + no Hud was my favorite way to play it.
Revisiting the game then playing other things just makes me miss it even more.
Shift 2, on my opinion, in the top 3 best NFS games ever, and I definitely prefer this one over both HP and The Run

.
remaster maybe?
11:42 i never played Shift 2 so i’d have to say The Run, it just doesn’t have any replayability after you finish the story. Hot Pursuit & Most Wanted 2012 had amazing online modes & the latter had free roam, tons of DLC etc.
7:43 Theo had a Jeremy Clarkson moment there 😂
This is honestly one of my favorite NFS titles, where I'd often make unrestricted Works cars (such as the Bugatti Veyron) and drive in those GT3 and GT1 cars.
PTMU mod makes this game such a blast to play. It's SUCH a physics upgrade over the base game. I played Shift2 as a kid, hated it, now as an adult, with the mod and a decent wheel, man it's soooo good to play again. Also the body kits - especially the Works conversions - are hands down the BEST exterior designs ever featured in an NFS game. No over the top BS, just straight up motorsports-derived aero. Yes, I'm a huge fan of this title 😅🙏
Edit: Shift2 + PTMU mod = need a wheel to drive. Please, try it, you'll like it I'm sure
This is the spiritual successor to Pro Street. One of my favorites.
I remember need for speed shift, it was such a good game. I remember going over to my friends house and playing it for hours on hours
I loved when your car got to its peak performance...then you can fully turn it into a race car...can't remember what thats called
Stiffen up the suspension to take out the floaty rolly polly feeling, loved this game, still worth a play
Honestly would make me a tractor to this series was the insane car sounds, it felt like I could crash any moments and that's what I really liked about this game.
