I read somewhere that Yurio asked Otabek to do this performance with him cz he saw Yuri and Victor dancing together(probably the dance we saw in the finale?) and wanted to made them jealous but idk if it's true lol
I love that and I can totally see him wanting to outdo them.
Fun fact: The outfit he’s wearing was something he already had that he and Otebek found together while shopping. He just thought it was cool. As for his performance, he wanted to show folks how cool he could be, but DID see Yuri and Victor together working on their piece and so asked Otebek to help him. This animation also cemented the Yurio/Otebek ship for a lot of people.
I think that's from the manga... I read it years ago tho, so I'm not 100% sure

This is the coolest fucking shit I've ever seen, Yuri fucking beat that shit out of the park, no the whole damn country.
When I first saw it, my jaw was literally on the damn FLOOR. Rarely have I ever seen something THIS cool and badass.
Also, these elements that Yuri is performing are totally legit but are usually done in exhibitions and stuff where you don't have to plan your program down to a T and put in lots of jumps- and hence, conserve your energy by not putting in elements that won't get you many points- to garner the most points and medal.
Anyways, I'm sorry but this beats every single skate on Yuri On Ice and is on par with well, Yuuri On Ice, Yuuri's free skate program and Vitya's Stammi Vicini skate in the beginning. All three had their moment to shine like a gd DIAMOND
Skaters let loose in the exhibitions after competitions, they are super fun, like Yuri&Victor super flirty Stammi Vicino's , I love this one because is so Yuri(o)! All aggresive and rock star and look, I have friends too!
"Sorry, my brain glitched" is me everytime I watch this video. I also thought this was fantasy and impossible in real life when I first watched Yuri on Ice... But I was wrong. There are actually a lot of people who can.
Fans loved that so much that special sparked Soooo many fanfics of Yuri and Otabek 😂. There’s an AMV using the footage to the song Bad Romance, very popular.
There are skaters who can skate like how you just saw Yuri skate here.

Thank you so much for this YOI reaction series!!! I watched the anime for the first time about a month and a half ago... then immediately watched it about 4 more times lol. Watching other reactions has become my way of dealing with the obsession now. I really appreciate that you did the full length reactions instead of other youtubers who compress multiple episodes into a ~10-15 min video, also your perception of all the symbolism and hidden meanings was incredible, you were still opening my eyes to things I hadn't considered (yurio's motivations for kicking the bathroom stall) even after spending the last 3 weeks obsessively reading old YOI meta posts on tumblr.
