Also medyo nasad ako dun sa part na sumasayaw sila sa gitna ng parang kulongan tapos pinapanuod sila ng mga nakawhite, that scene refers to the Igorots that were abducted and held captive by white people and was used as an attraction for their Human Zoo. As a full blooded igorot myself, that part of our history still makes me sad.
The whole MV shows how Filipinos were discriminated and had suffered before. Kudos to Alamat for doing this concept!
They're educating the new generation of Filipino youth in an artistic and engaging way.

The part of Rji dancing with a white person refers to a photo of a white American teacher dancing with and "educating" a dark Filipino. Yung part ni Alas in the pool references an image of Pres. McKinley then, giving the Filipinos their first bath because they are dirty 😭 The one with Gami (he ate a "dog") features what Filipinos were asked to do at the exhibition, which was to eat dogs so Americans could watch them. And yes the first scene with Taneo also references a young Filipino girl exactly in bondage like Taneo as part of the exhibit. Dami pa! Haha

I couldn't help but feel sad and mad that these filipino reactors didn't really grasp the colonial racism that filipinos endure by the Spanish and Americans which this mv was trying to show. They also didn't really understand the traditional filipino clothing/culture made modern that the video also chose to show case. This video made me proud to be a filipino in the way that it showcased some pre-colonial filipino culture and also sought to illustrate some of the injustices filipinos have faced and continue to feel the effects of in some ways even to this day.
I dont expect everyone to know their history and at the very least I hope these two felt inspired to look more into filipino history. Most Americans have no idea that the United States subjugated and colonized the philippines so I think we as filipinos need to know that dark history for ourselves
