- Welcome to the fall garden tour! Today we're focusing on shrubs, trees, and perennials with stunning fall foliage color! This garden tour was filmed on the last day of October in zone 6b. Some of my favorite shrubs for fall color are ninebarks, hydrangeas, and fothergillas. Great trees with awesome fall color are serviceberries, pawpaws, and Japanese stewartias. My favorite perennials with fall foliage interest are amsonia, solomon seal, and hostas.

Honestly, you could sell tickets to tour your garden! It’s so beautiful! I’m hoping to add more evergreens this year as well so I’ll be curious what you choose to add.
The fall color is beautiful. Thank you for this very peaceful and relaxing tour. ♥🌻
To me, even the areas that don’t have blooms are beautiful because of different textures, leaf colors, size of plants…just everything! You have made several unique areas that also seem to blend in to the next all around the yard and I love every bit of it! I’m looking forward to this year’s version of the railroad! Thank you for sharing! 💕💕👌👏👍💕💕
Absolutely stunning 😍 your gardens are so peaceful ❤❤
Just gorgeous Danielle!! The birds chirping in the background and the misty, overcast day just screamed FALL IS HERE!

Love the tour. Beautiful fall color
Thank you so much for sharing all of your hard work with us🤍 You, along with other channels, have helped me rediscover the wonderful world of gardening.
I started last year with 45 hydrangeas, 45 peony, 45 Creeping Pholx and 150 trees! Too much one might say. But what a blessing it turned out to be!
My mother-in-law came to live with us last winter. She is in a later stage of dementia. And she has enjoyed the garden the most🤍 She is in her element when her hands are in soil🤍
So thank you so very much! Blessings abound🤍

Your garden looks absolutely beautiful during this time!
Your garden would make me look forward to fall
WOW! Your garden is so lovely! The bird song in the back ground just made the tour even better! Gorgeous fall color! That Cup and Saucer vine is something else! I tried to grow it from seed but had no luck.
2:49 While you mentioned wanting to add more yellow foliage, I was actually awe struck with the gorgeous display of different foliage textures combining so harmoniously in this fall picture. Just had to let you know. There are so many places in your garden where I appreciate the combinations, the service berry with the nine bark is just one of them. Thanks for the lovely tour, hope you are doing well.
Thank you Danielle❤I so enjoyed the beautiful colors of your garden😊🤗

Your garden is so lovely, regardless of the season. My favorite shrub/tree you highlighted is the serviceberry; I have three and IMO, their fall color is unmatched (with the possible exception of the Fothergilla which I do not have… yet).
Thank you for one of the most amazing fall garden color tours! I’m in zone 10b and have no idea of seasonal changes.💚

Beautiful as always !!!!! Burning bush is very invasive here in South central Indiana.
Pure magic ❤
Beautiful Garden Danielle! I grew alba and purple cup and saucer vine this year, and although It's a slow growing seed and it need support along it journey , it is so worth it! I learned about this flower from you ! Mine's still blooming even after our first snow fall!
Wow!!!! That is so great to know! Do you like alba? I have never grown that one.
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarm yes I do. They are like a green color really. They look like the purple early bloom but they stay greenish . I mix them on the same obelisk
I'd love to see details of how you start cup and saucer vine from seed, next spring !
I didn’t get your image for the bench area “carpet”, but I really love it how it filled in!
The autumn colors in your garden are simply gorgeous! I wonder how you support your dahlias to keep them from falling over, or do you just prune them a lot through the summer? Maybe I should have pinched my dinner plate dahlias a lot more to keep them from getting so heavy.
Hi friend! I’ve been using tall peony hoops. It’s been working well. I still have to stake the huge ones, but the hoops have been working for the 4ft dahlias.
Love your gardens and helpful info! Currently obsessed with amaryllis thanks to you 😂 I never had a slug problem until this year, they destroyed salvia and petunias in two new gardens. Any advice on how to get rid of slugs ? Thank you!
Thanks for this beautiful fall garden tour - your gardens are gorgeous all year long! Can you say how you run your little train set out in the yard - is it a particular brand? I'd love to have one in my garden but I don't know where to get one that won't ruin in the elements. Thanks so much♥
Hi friend! If you want to leave the track outside you want to get copper G scale track. It's very important to get copper. Here is what I have - amzn.to/45ZNXrq You can leave copper track outside year-round. It can get wet or snowed on. However, you always have to bring the train and electric box inside, or have the electric box housed inside. The train and pack cannot get wet. The train can run in snow for a small amount of time if you dry it off after. My power pack runs into the garage. G scale is what you want for outside. Here is the eggliner I have - amzn.to/3SqweGw Eggliners are more forgiving then big trains if there is debris on the track. And then I have this power pack - amzn.to/3QIB7cP
Northern Spicebush (lindera benzoin) for awesome yellow autumn color
Thank you! I will look into that!
The fall garden is beautiful! I would be interested to know what you do to your burning bush to make it more of a tree form. How do you prune them? I have tried to cut out the lower branches, but it seems to always grow back into this dense bush. Is it a matter of frequent pruning?
Hi friend! I’m with you! It’s a constant job. I was just pruning it up again today to underplant it with more tulips. It did seem to help to create two side leaders. Once I had one main trunk and two main side branches it was easier to keep it looking more like a tree. It still seems to shoot heavily in the front, but the sides have stopped pushing new stems.
@@NorthlawnFlowerFarm Thanks for that tip. I will give it a try.
Beautiful, what zone is that cup and saucer? Thanks
Are those geums planted next to the juniper and under the elephant ears? If so, what cultivar are you growing? I haven't had any luck with these beauties blooming for me here in Georgia.
Beautiful garden. Did you make your pallet walk? Or buy it already made?
Hi friend! I ordered it from plow and hearth. I hope you have a great day!
Hi there! I was wondering if you knew how old your dogwood trees are?
I'm having a hard time finding a good seed catalog. I was wondering where you get your seeds. The one that I would love to find is the cup and saucer that you grow. Do you know where I can find it.??? Do you Save your seeds?
Hi friend! I got them from Renee’s . I believe they call them cathedral bells/ cathedral bell vine. Botanical Interests may have them also. I saved a seed pod last year, but I think I did something wrong. It never dried out. Months later and it was still green.
What bird is singing his heart out.? Is it an oriel?
What size is your garden?Thanks
Hi, do you bring your angel trumpet in for the winter?
Hi friend! I don’t, but my friend does. She told me the other day that she digs it up, plants it in a pot, and puts it in her unheated basement. She does not cut it back. She said it will lose all the leaves and grow new leaves next year. She is also in southern pa.
I have some Japanese anemone and want to know if you can just plat it in the ground without presprouting it first
My guess is she planted anemone japonica there, as I seem to recall she mentioned honorine jobert in another video, while I think your are maybe referring to anemone blanda. No need (at all) to presprout japonica. However for blanda, I can imagine it might be useful to presprout these in some areas. It is not necessary to do that where I live so I just plunk them in the ground. Hope this helps.
Where is your fence by the toad
Is the first burning bush you showed us only one Bush ?
Was wondering that too, it’s huge!
Yes friends! I trained it to have two central leaders.
At the beginning of the video - what is foliage in front of elephant ears? Lower bottom right hand side. Thanks!
Does it have a rounded leaf like a coral bell? If so, those are geums.
Yes the rounded leaves - do you know the variety of geum?
Love your videos but having a hard time hearing this one
I’m sorry Dee. Was the voice over too quiet? I don’t usually do a voice over for tours, but it was too loud in our area the day I filmed this.
Beautiful
