The King himself...Malik Monk. Past that, in Monty I trust and I believe the Kings will do what they can to get that 2nd/3rd option that fits the budget and gets them to the second round and beyond. I do have realistic expectations though, I hope Kings fans don't get too upset when we don't land a huge fish.

Andre Drummond as the backup center. Controlling the boards should be a staple in how the Kings play.

Make a strong offer for Deni Avdija. Make a play for Ingram. Draft Devin Carter, Tristan Da Silva, or DaRon Holmes. Pay Deuce and Mo whatever they want.

I want to see Sasha play something like 20-25min per game for a season and THEN evaluate him OR wave him/trade him, so we can see how good is he in different team. Right now I hate seeing him on the bench. If that was Fox or Curry in Euroleague, in Olympiacos and sit one year on the bench there I'll be frustrated the same way.

Sorry that’s just unrealistic. I’m a big Sasha fan. But at the very best, he’s probably a 15-18MPG type of guy and that’s best case scenario. That’s basically him taking the Trey Lyles role. For perspective, Monk averaged 26MPG. For Sasha to be getting the same minutes as Monk would be absurd.
I understand you’re saying to give him those minutes to evaluate him as a player. But u can pretty much see the best version of him already. He won’t be able to create his own shot. He’s a lethal spot up shooter who can cut and rebound at an elite level. Won’t ever be a good defender. So even best case scenario won’t allow him to get 25 MPG. We’d have to be a lottery team for that to happen. But as the 8th man on a solid team?? I believe that’s his best scenario and I think he could thrive in that. But what Mike Brown did last year to him will not get it done. Seems like he hated Sasha.

@@ralph7781 I understand what you are saying, but I cannot see an universe where Barnes, at his current age gets more minutes than Sasha. Imagine just drop and replacement, where Sasha takes the entire minutes on Barnes - do you think that the overall results of the team would be worst?
So far Sasha has better defence stats compared to Barnes and if he has enough minutes on the floor he will have way more consistent 3p shot.

@@JulianBG Yeah I was one of the guys on Reddit who used to say to start Sasha over Barnes. People use to fry me. The reason why that would probably never happen is because Mike Brown was so obsessed with guys playing defense and Sasha is a bad defender. Now HB sucks defensively too but there’s levels to it.
But I do agree with you and with that being said, I would have absolutely loved it if Mike Brown actually tried this. Kings would’ve been worst defensively. But we would’ve improved our rebounding drastically. We would’ve been a better shooting team since HB only took 4-5 a game. Sasha would’ve been launching 8-10 of them a game if he got 30+ minutes for sure. Sasha would’ve benefited so much from all the attention from Fox & Domas. But ultimately we have too many guys with a similar skillset on this team.
An elite outside shooter who can’t defend. HB is one of them. Huerter, Lyles also have similar skillsets. That’s why Brown was looking for defense. We have too many of the same archetypes.

Since we don't know what Monk is going to do, it's hard to comment on free agents. Trade wise, the only guy that makes sense to me is Kuzma. Ingram is an injury liability who will demand $200 million to keep him.
I seem to be in the minority that wants them to use their pick this year. Trade all other picks if need be. If Knecht is gone, take a risky swing in Edey or Ware as a backup center. I am confident Edey could dominate most centers in this league if given the opportunity to play at his strengths.

Hoping they expand some players roles in the offseason and I think these late-game collapses can be resolved with some preparation. And Fox needs to elevate his game again. He was not the clutch guy last year and it cost them some wins. I also really liked what Bill Walton said about how champions take accountability and I think there needs to be some accountability on this team, especially from Fox who was saying pre-season last year (on this podcast) that he would rather him miss a clutch shot then to have someone miss a clutch shot. Well, I'm not sure this is the right mentality. Also, love Fox and believe he is capable of being a true superstar but just looking for some adjustments.

Kings need to do everything they can to acquire Ingram. He would and should be #1 scorer on Kings squad. Fox would be more ball dominant but this way he can still be their Batman but he could focus on his defense a bit more and getting others more involved

  • @edbrewington3

I just have a feeling that Malik is going to stay. Why? Because other teams who have the money and are good like the Magic will have their own young guys to pay for in the near future, and that could limit the offer they have for someone like Malik. Also, the teams who have plenty of money but are bad teams can't be that appeasing for Malik because he's worked so hard to get where he is now. One wrong move could send him in a downward spiral and he must be smart about who he plays for. That said, the Kings offer him the best option because he KNOWS his place on this team and he is VALUED tremendously on this team and city imo. If I were him (no bias here...ha, ha), I would stay with the Kings. C'mon Malik! We love you in SacTown! Stay!

Arvydas Sabonis would have been something like a taller, more physically fit version of Nikola Jokic if he had played in the nba in his prime. Maybe better. Dude literally had a stop and pop, high-release, mid range jumper in his bag at 7'2", 280-300 pounds 😬🤯
