Not gonne lie, Joel's house might be the best 1.0.0 build I've ever seen. The block availability is so bare it's unbelievable that anything that nice could be built in that version.
I personally feel like Joel tried to build something a little too complex for what's possible. With some more preparation, Joel's house would've probably been better.
It's because he tried to build with the 1.19 style in the 1.0 version. 1.0 has it's own feel and aesthetic balanced to what was possible during that time. While yes the new style is much better, there is still a way to make good builds in the old version that match.

You weren't taking much damage in full diamond because of a rather comical bug that existed in 1.0 exclusively. For some reason, it does the damage reduction calculation twice multiplicatively, meaning that instead of reducing damage by 80% as intended, it became 96%! (20% of 20% is 4%) The amount of damage you deal with critical hits (plus enchanted items) had a randomised calculation, hence why you also occasionally 2-shotted cows with an iron sword.

It’s weird because this is how I learned minecraft and playing now I’m expecting some of these things to happen or not to happen. I expect the stuff to just fall out of my inventory if I leave it in the crafting table, and I haven’t had to craft fence in a while so I would’ve just made it with sticks probably, but then I guess the different types wouldn’t make sense. Trading with villagers seems so new still but it feels like dying your bed or dog collar has always been around because it just makes sense, just like dragging things to place them around the crafting table smoothly. It’s just so interesting learning everything again, it’s the same game I’ve always loved but so improved and also kind of foreign.

No rush just a question.
Wow, I didn't see that coming!
Fun video =P
I first got minecraft during 1.14 so seeing how it used to be is really interesting. I'm so glad it got updated to what it is today

Oh my god why is time passing by so fast??
I remember so many of these things, like the crafting table spitting out items, the sneaking over fields, the enchantments using all levels… I definitely played much more in older versions!

Oh you did this without the hardcore and with Lizzie! That was amazing!💕💕
Oh my god the walking sound..!
I used to play Minecraft on the XBox with my friend back in the day, I believe before 1.9 combat update because I remember spam attacking all the time. I remember us getting excited about flower pots being added XD
This is *painful.* Joel, I’m so sorry you had to do this😂
The ending has me weak 😂😂 poor Joel. What a way to go out 😂🎉
