    Working from the shadows, Mind MGMT once used its psychically-powered agents to put a stop to global crises. However, absolute power corrupts absolutely, and Mind MGMT is now rotting from the inside. To tighten its iron grip on the world stage, Mind MGMT deploys covert operatives around the world to recruit other psychically-attuned individuals to their side. How can this enigmatic organization, hell bent on global domination, be defeated?

    5.0 - My absolutely favorite games. You can pry them out of my cold dead hands.
    4.5 - Love this game! At the same time missing something that would make it a 5. Could be hard to table, lacking variability, a little light, etc.
    4.0 - Really great game, almost always keeping, although has meaningful complaints as to what takes away from the experience.
    3.5 - Really enjoyed, don't love it, may lose out to better games but the idea of never playing again is a bit sad.
    3.0 - A good game, would play and suggest with the right people, if I never played it again wouldn't lose any sleep.
    2.5 - A game I'd play again , but will never suggest it myself
    2.0 - A game I don't want to play again
    1.5 - A game I can't find any reason to recommend
    1.0 - A game that is just bad.

    Just wanted to note that I prefer to play without the stands for the characters, and instead lay them down flat. After a character has performed their action for the turn I flip them to their backside which helps me remember which characters have already been used. That function is more important than you might think since only two characters move between each turn for the recruiter and after they do, the two characters who haven't already had a turn must do so.

    Did you notice that the app now has the full version implemented, because for me it has turned Mind MGMT into a top tier solo game, and makes it a stronger co op as well, especially if you want to play it 2 player without having it turn into a silent duel. The only long term drawback is if the app won't have all the shift packages added. Currently there are like 9, some of which are exclusive to the app.

    I was under the impression from the rulebook that the hint tokens were intentionally limited to 15 as a way to reduce the amount of info the agents can record.

      @BoardGameCo  Před 2 lety +1

      Absolutely yes. At the same time, that starts to move it a little out of the domain of a logic game and into the domain of a memory game, which speaking for myself is not my preference.

    I would be very interested in hearing your Top10 (or 5 or whatever) deduction games. Meaning logical deduction games (Cryptid, Awkward Guests, Search for Planet X, etc.), not the social kind (Resistance, Werewolf, Deception, etc.). Is it something you feel like making? It looks like you enjoy this kind of games. Not necessarily with hidden-movement, although that's fine.

    Love the video, but I disagree with your critique on not having enough tokens to track the recruiter. From the games I've played, it's way more than enough to deduce where the recruiter has been. The 15 tokens is just enough before the recruiter wins and the examples of how to use them in the rulebook are the most efficient way in using them.

    2:22 - "... by putting down a footprint token on any one pool that they haven't visited already." This is incorrect; you place a footprint token on a feature you HAVE visited already, but that does not yet already have a footprint token. This is very clear in the rulebook and the accompanying example.

    Please stop hyping up beast Alex - that game has so many problems… honestly not sure how you missed them in your play-throughs of it.
    At the very least, wouldn’t you say that beast is a partial hidden movement game? Which is to say, the beast is only meant to hide for part of the time, and has to reveal itself to gain any xp. There is always a lot of information about where the beast is. I wouldn’t play it again, found the gameplay very dull - gorgeous art though!

    • @BoardGameCo
      @BoardGameCo  Před 2 lety +4

      You're absolutely welcome to your opinion. But so am I.
      As far as the partially hidden, I agree, and that's one of the things I liked about it. One of my problems with hidden movement is exactly the idea that sometimes you can feel too lost for half the game and it's only fun when you feel like it's close. Beast always feels like it's close because even if you lose track, eventually it has to pop up. And it works really well for that. Mind mgmt manages to feel close as well, but through a totally different mechanism. Where is playing other hidden movement games, I've had both amazing experiences and games that just weren't fun.
