    Wasnt local switching already enabled?

    • @CiscoNetworking
      @CiscoNetworking  Před 5 lety +2

      By default local switching is disabled while creating the WLAN. Flex connect mode APs will not be able to do local data switching until it's enabled under WLAN.

    Very useful knowledge on flexconnet for local switching on vlan tags.... really awesome

    Great video!!!! I have a question that I want to consult you. when we config the VLAN mapping per ap and the VLAN is not map to the WLAN. I mean it is different from the VLAN I set in the WLAN. what the influence do we have? Looking forward your messages!!!

    Great Video !! Can i please know, how do we join this AP from a remote site to the WLC in DC when they are not in same subnet ? Can we do it through L3 routing ? any videos on that ? Thanks.

    • @CiscoNetworking
      @CiscoNetworking  Před 2 lety +1

      Basic requirement is to have a L3 connectivity between WLC and AP. If you can make that happen normal CAPWAP discovery will help you to get there. Please watch the video for CAPWAP discovery process, that explains different ways of discovering the WLC. In simple note Option 43 in DHCP Scope will be your friend here.

    Better if you include all components , like whats configuration needed for WLC to switch side and vlan mapping and support

      There is another video that shows how to establish connectivity between WLC and Switch in my channel. May be that video can provide more info on switch specific configurations

    Hi JAson another great video on Wireless, Really helpful....Two query I have regarding the configuration:-
    1) Do we need to pass the correspoding vlans (which get created everytime we define vlan for locally sw/itched WLAN on AP) on switch connected trunk link as well, along with the Native Vlan.
    2) Do the native vlan carry Centrally switched WLANs data over to the WLC present in DC

    • @CiscoNetworking
      @CiscoNetworking  Před 3 lety

      1) You have two items here
      If you are making changes on Native VLAN, you have to update the same on the switches.
      If you want to add more WLAN with Diff VLANs, you have to update the 'allowed VLAN' list on the switch trunk port accordingly.
      2) in simple words, APs establish the CAPWAP tunnel using the AP Management IP part of the Native VLAN. So all the traffic pointing to WLC will pass through the same path. As the centrally switched WLANs are using the WLC as an exit point, they will pass through the native VLAN.

    Hi Friend, i have one query if we have multiple AP in flex-connect mode but SSID is not converted to flex-connect. And want to do this now will it reboot AP or what will be the impact of SSID changes bring in network as i have 400+ AP and want to change SSID to flex-connect which is not implemented earlier but AP is chose as flex connect.

    • @CiscoNetworking
      @CiscoNetworking  Před 2 lety +2

      Only in two conditions we need AP reboot
      1. AP mode change
      2. AP group change
      In newer APs, some of the reboots are also reduced but there will be a CAPWAP reset.
      In your case APs are already in Flex-Connect mode so there is no reason for a reboot. But there will be a flap on WLAN as you have to disable and enable the WLAN to make changes. Also keep your Flex-Connect group ready for better handling of Locally Switched WLANs

  • @sarahelizabethmascarinas9490

    what if the flexconnect ap has a weak signal? and users cannot connect to some ssid? what is the possible issue? and what resolution must be considered? thank you.

    • @CiscoNetworking
      @CiscoNetworking  Před 3 lety

      AP mode and RF don't have any connection here. Try to find what is going wrong on TX power levels in that area. Most probably its an RRM related issue. If you have an NMS system like Prime or DNAC check the heatmap of that area and find how the PTC taking care of the Transmit power. One you correct the RRM/RF profile settings, the issue should get resolved.
