- My morning routine with 12 parrots is more like an idea, LOL! Every morning starts when George makes all my birds breakfast, as for the rest, well, I have a plan and just hope it goes well! There's so much you can do for your parrots to get ready for the day! What's your morning routine for your birds? As we get all my parrots their breakfast, we talk about parrot preferences, how to read your bird, and how to relax and enjoy quality time with your bird. Of course, all this doesn't mean much when George and I are waging war against these pantry moths, they get into everything! It's a nightmare!! Will we ever find the nest???
I am not sure if any of you are having a moth problem, but we are. It is moth season! I see a lot of you asking on our Parrot Station facebook group, what to do about moths and I hope to be able to be of help to you, not only in this video but future videos as well.

For the moth problem even with all my own rices and pancake mixes, bird pellets, treats, seed blends - I just freeze it or refrigerate and keep it there! Also Marlene screaming “YOU ARE NOT THE CATCHMASTER” makes me giggle every single time.

Here are a few safe and healthy recipes for parrots:
1. **Fresh Fruit Salad**: Combine a variety of bird-safe fruits like apples, bananas, oranges, berries, and melons. You can also add some chopped leafy greens like spinach or kale for added nutrients.
2. **Vegetable Medley**: Steam or chop vegetables like carrots, broccoli, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, and peas. Mix them together for a colorful and nutritious dish.
3. **Cooked Whole Grains**: Cooked brown rice, quinoa, or couscous can be a great addition to your parrot's diet. Mix with some chopped vegetables or fruits for added flavor.
4. **Nut and Seed Mix**: Offer a mix of unsalted nuts and seeds like almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and sunflower seeds. Make sure to offer these in moderation due to their high fat content.

Great class on where and why moths may be showing up in your home (and some will eat your natural fabrics, especially certain types of wool). Also, really good idea to explain exactly what those pheromone traps do and why. Marlene, you looked lovely today and I'm sure George appreciates how lucky he is (hee hee). We have a deep freezer and freeze everything but somehow these little guys made it through

I know you have Parrot Chop Chef (can't wait for the next instalment!) but I'd really love to see you leading us through how to cook a meal, Marlene ;) Love the parrot psych lesson in today's episode. Enjoying "Catchmaster" George not reading the instructions on the moth monitors. It's not possible to completely keep moths and worms out of grains and pellets, but if you keep stuff in airtight ceramic containers the moths can't get in. Make sure you pass all the stuff through a sift first to catch the larvae
I found moths inside an unopened bag of rice from the grocery store. One thing for prevention: put all packages of seed or flour, and grains,in the freezer for a day or so. That will kill any creepy crawlies that might be in the packages.

I put a place mat on top of my budgies cage and feed them their fruits and veggies off of a piece of Slate since one of my budgies cannot use her feet therefore needs to eat off of something flat I've also noticed it helps shave down their beaks naturally
Oh my goodness, this is timely. I just started noticing moths in my pantry and haven't experienced this before. I threw away some almond flour, but I keep finding them flying around. I'm about to throw a bunch of stuff away because I have no clue where they're coming from. I'm going to look up the catchmaster now!
