- Recently I reorganized my IKEA SKÅDIS pegboard as the old layout was getting too messy and kind of boring for me, and a lot of you asked for a quick video, so here it is!
For this new set up I mainly grouped similar storage units together versus having them all over the place.

I have 2 square IKEA SKÅDIS pegboards mounted onto my IKEA workstation (not mounted to the wall). There are 4 SKÅDIS shelves attached one under the other on the left hand side of my pegboard. Currently I'm using them to store everything colorful.
On the top shelf I have my Jane Davenport inks (shrsl.com/1gqki) sitting on the side and displaying the color of each pad at the top.
The next shelf houses my Tonic Studios Nuvo Mousses (shrsl.com/1gqko), also on their sides to be able to see the pretty color inside.
The next shelf houses my Tonic Studios Nuvo Drops (shrsl.com/1gqkr) in the colors I use most often.
The bottom shelf houses the most heavy items - Hero Arts Liquid Watercolors (shrsl.com/1gqkv) and Hero Arts Shimmer Inks (shrsl.com/1gqkw).
Next I have a section with 4 SKÅDIS hooks and 4 scissors hanging on the hooks. These are scissors by FSJ (shrsl.com/1gqkx) and I love them not only for their quality but also for the pretty green handles. They add a pop of color to my pegwalls and these do use often, not only for crafting but for household things, too.
Next i have 3 SKÅDIS cups one on top of the other and 4th cup off the side. I'd love to add more cups to this display. The bottom two hold my copic marker refills. The top cup holds some of my most used Glimmer foil rolls (shrsl.com/1gqky). The 4th cup houses my Tonic Studios Aqua Flow Pens (shrsl.com/1gqkz) as well as Shimmer Pens and a Bone Folder.
Above the 4th cup I have a stack of printed color cards for inspiration all hanging together on a SKÅDIS clip.
Next is another cup from IKEA, SUNNERSTA, not part of a SKÅDIS series but it is easily attached to the top of the peg board. Here I keep my colored pencils by Faber Castell (shrsl.com/nj6g).
Next is another IKEA bucket, VARIERA, again not part of SKÅDIS collection but one that can hang from the top of the pegboard. This one I use for color charts and also some odd things. It can also be used a handy paper waste bucket.
Below it is a IKEA SKÅDIS Roll Holder with some pretty washi tapes.
Behind the tapes I have a clip with a watercolor dot chart (shrsl.com/kqt3).
Finally a have 2 IKEA SKÅDIS Hooks that I use to store my double sided tapes. They are very convenient for me and I use them nearly daily. I also have a small fake plant here to add some greenery to the place and an IKEA SKÅDIS Letter Holder but I’m not currently using.

I got one of these today. I use the cups to store pens, the letter holder to hold my journals, the tape holder to keep my 20 new washi tapes, the shelf to hold rubbers, post-it notes, glue and and a pencil sharpener and I used the clips to attach time of my favourite quotes.
Just came across this video. The pegboard are beautiful and aestetically pleasing.
Love this idea! 💕Especially with the pegboard not attached to a wall. We live in an apartment so I don't want to knock holes in the wall but would love to have a pegboard for all the tools I reach for the most and your video gives me ideas!!!! LOL! Thank you for sharing this 😃
I love my Skadis pegboards. I have one on each side of my desk so the things I use are in easy reach. I can put them away frequently so I always know where to find them. I love the soft colours and how you have displayed everything.
Efficient and beautiful!!! What a wonderful way to organize!!!
just bought this myself last weekend! can't wait to set it up. Going to put my sprays in the wide trays and also have the letter holder attachment to hold my cutting mat, and my tim holtz stamp platform :)
I love how you keep everything so neat, I have one similar, but I have so many things that I just decided to put them in large containers slightly close so that the heat will not damage anything.
Hi Yana l really love the way your little crafting retreat looks 😀👍 I wouldn't change it because it looks awesome thank you very much for sharing have a fab weekend x Lin in South Wales uk
Yana you are an absolute star! I have put off getting the pegboard in my home office for a year because I was worried about the DIY bit of putting them on the wall. I never knew you could fix them to the table!! 😱
Just been to our IKEA here in the UK and spent a fortune but I'm now blaming you! 😂😂
You really know how to maximize a small space. It looks wonderful and very inspirational. Thanks for sharing.
I’m in the middle of trying to reorganize, this was so helpful. Many thanks! 🥰
Thanks for sharing this Yana. I love that it doesn’t have to be fixed to the wall and everything is flexible. Such great ideas.
Yes! That's what convinced me to get this system, too. They have another kind of attachment to fix it to some other kind if IKEA furniture, that also looks great. I'm actually thinking of getting one pegboard to add to my setup and possibly even one for our entryway. They are so practical
How neat. The white makes every thing with color pop. Love it. Thanks for sharing.
thank you, Trudie!
Thanks, Yana! I enjoyed seeing your setup.
Thank you for this! I really wanted an overview of the actual accessories, so this was extremely helpful!
Love your layout of your Skadis pegboards. I have 2 boards the same size as you attached to my desk. They were a birthday present.
Hey Yana....I've looked at this pegboard system before online at Ikea and I do love it. I'm so pleased you shared this to help me decide which hanging accessories I will require. Being Canadian, when you put in an order here, you want to make sure you get it right, in order to avoid having to send things back because shipping in my country is expensive. Enjoy your pretty crafty space, Yana, and again, TFS!
I just added two 14" Skadis pegboards to my craft table this past weekend and absolutely love it! It freed up about 12 inches of space on my worktop that formerly housed three different containers I was using to hold essentials (like glues, alcohol blending solution, washi tape, utensils, etc.). While 12" doesn't sound like a lot of space, it has created the perfect amount of extra room for all the stuff I bring out of my cabinets for making cards.
yes! it is such a fantastic system and saves a ton of space!
Thanks so much Yana, I've been thinking about adding pegboard to my craft room & I love the versatility of this pegboard from IKEA! Your desk looks so lovely, bright & colorful! Thanks for sharing!
thank you, Maria! I'm actually thinking of adding another pegboard to my set up, it's just so versatile!
This was inspirational Yana. It shows me how productive you can be in a small space which should give hope to those of us who use our spaces for double duty. My craft area is half of my living room in my one bedroom condo. Keeping it organized, functional, and visually pretty is key for me. The fact that these attach to the table and not the wall is appealing. I did get this pegboard in gray for my office at work. Am excited for the versatility of it. You always inspire me because your joy in creating is so evident in your videos. (This next comment is off subject but I wanted to say how much I enjoy the Spellbinder videos you do. You have such pretty, graceful hands and it's always nice to watch how beautifully you create a project! Or do the unboxing of the kits!). You are a crafty inspirational muse to me. Thank you!!
awww, thank you so much, Annie! I was having a bad day today and your comment made me smile. THANK YOU! Because of my trip to China I couldn't film unboxing for March and April (Spellbinders is having another girl film these), but I'll be back to filming them once I return :)
This is so cool. I saw it on your IG. Thanks for sharing. Hugs Cindy
I love the little lights along the top of the pegboard! And how cool that you have your own Daniel Smith palette. :)
I agree! The lights are a delightful addition!
Definitely on my want list. TFS
You nailed it looks Amazing 💖
I use the letter holder to store my stamp presses. Love the Ikea Skaldis pegbord!!!
I used to use it for that too. But have moved the presses into a drawer and it seems to working better for me at the moment
If you’re wondering what she’s using to mount the pegboard to the desk, here’s the link: www.ikea.com/us/en/p/skadis-connector-white-10320789/
Thank you.
Thanks!!!! This is what I needed!
I love it Yana.
Gosh I think I need this it looks so nice love it
it is a fabulous system to help organize! Just a note, its not compatible with other pegboards out there (the holes are different), so using pegboard accessories from another system will not work in Skadis. Many people do not realize this, so I wanted to mention it.
Oh my goodness! This is AMAZING! I’ve been stressing on damaging my walls with heavy duty screws. May I ask, how did you secure your pegboard to your desk!? Thank you in advance!😁❤️
I love the look and have been eying the pegboard for sometime. I too will get two and put them against the back of my desk problem is that my desk is deep so I can't easily reach them. Oh well they'll look good as a display too.
mine is pretty deep, too, and I have to lean all the way across (often even stand up to reach something), but I can't say it's been inconvenient. Although yours might be even deeper. Still, it's a fabulous system for organizing.
@@Yana.Smakula mine is one of those folks down tables from Ikea you know the ones with 3 drawers down the middle. I'm short so I too may have to stand up.
Thank you - I was wondering how to do this without mounting to the wall.
Nice setup. Mounting to your desk is cleer. I think a reinforcing strip across the back of the center joint secure with zip ties through the slots and into the reinforcing strip might provide some rigidity and help the panels to move as a single unit. I also might have it come over the top and bottom an inch or so if you finding vibration from working at your desk to be an issue.. Ialso use 3M command strips to attach items to the pegboard like clips and hooks that are non standard. Great thing is they are easily removed and repositioned.
So need these
I LIKE, Yana! Every time you said you did something because it made your space, "pretty," I giggled! My husband KNOWS my space, HAS TO BE "pretty!" LOL It's the artist in us! ;) (I do the fake plants too! LOL) ;)
Yep, and the colours have to match. We are visual people, thats my excuse and I am sticking to it.
I love it!
Thank you...
Thank you for the video! I'm thinking of getting this system too. I would also like to attach it to my desk. I have a Skarsta sit/stand. So this way it can go up and down with the table when needed. But mostly I keep it at stand level. How sturdy do you find the board when attached to your desk?
Great video, thank you! Can you tell me the software/app you used to make the mock up of the system? I used to use an app called Moxier Collage but it’s no longer available.
I hope you see this altho' I know the vid you did was several years ago. I would like the desk connector but I'm worried my simple plastic tabletop will be too thin - does the little screw on the bottom screw in all the way to an inch? Also, it seems like the pegboard itself would bend forward at the top. Do you need to keep heavier items at the bottom of the pegboard because you need to? Are the two little connectors at the bottom strong enough to hold the board vertically even up to the top? How do you hang the non-collection buckets you have at the top of the pegboard? Thanks if you can answer my questions and thanks for showing your system/work area, too.
I have the ikea micke desk which doesn’t have space in the back side so i want to know if it’s still possible to attach the skadis connectors
How do u attach buckets to pegboard?
I attached mine to my desk too but sadly the hunch over a bit. Do you know what may be causing that?
Can you tell me if the cups have 2 or 3 prongs on the back?
What LAMP is that clamped to SHELF to the top left of the Camera View?
What brand are your scissors. Nice that they match!
These are by FSJ (fun stampers journey). There's a link to where you can buy them in video description if you'd like more info on these
Yana, did the clips come w/the pegboard. If not, would you be able to tell me what they are called. Thank you for your videos...
the pegboard comes without any attachments, just with the rails to attach it to the wall (not the desk). everything else is sold separately and called "Skadis ___", so for examples Skadis Clip. Also, depending on where you are, there are different/limited accessories offered. I bought all of mine in Poland and they only had some accessories in white, not all. I know for a fact these also come in black color. www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/usearch/?query=skadis%20clip
I have one of these boards already that Im thinking of mounting on my desk. I want to buy another one but to put on top of the other board. In my head since youre not using the wall mounting bars the boards came with I was wondering if you can use those to attach 2 boards on top of each other? It looks like it would work but I wanted to ask if anyone have tried this before I buy the 2nd board.
Personally I think it would topple over....
🕊🙏❤️
Do the mounts come with the peg board or did you purchase that separately?
Sorry, I can't quite remember. I think you can look it up on the website.
Mine fell over.
I don’t know if your skadis is bending, but mine has the same features like your and it is bending
It's not bending, but leaning a bit, especially if theres heavy stuff at the top
