    Each question alone in this interview was more interesting than the whole of my Oxford interview. I just got asked endless factual questions about what I wrote in an essay I submitted.

    This video proved very extremely helpful! Can you produce a video based around interviews for the Education tripos at Cambridge?

      Ah wow, I haven't met many people who are applying for the Education tripos at Cambridge. Out of interest, what track have you applied to?

    Current student I know, but how would you rate his performance? Interviews are scored / graded...

      My sense (and I have successfully applied for and been interviewed by Cambridge and Oxford at undergrad and postgrad level in History) is that this isn’t a great performance, but equally it’s probably not wholly untypical either. Doing “well” at interview is difficult for most people. I thought his answers about Animal Farm and the material culture stimulus question (i.e. the picture) were weak. He was better on the Ottoman Empire but it was supposed to be the subject of his EPQ so you’d hope he’d have something to say!

      Hi Dev, we will do our best. We are hoping to publish a maths interview tomorrow which you may find to be more relevant to Economics :)

    Why is university enrolment subject to interview"? In Australia it is based on HSC Exam results. What a ludicrous way to enrol students

    • @rogermyall3129
      @rogermyall3129 Před 2 lety +3

      its also based off exam results and written work and a whole bunch of things :)

      Its mainly Oxford, Cambridge and Medicine courses at other universities that interview undergraduates, most places do not. Its to assess their reasoning skills and so on.

      the people applying to oxford and cambridge already have fantastic exam results so it would be hard to differentiate. also oxbridge's one on one (or two) teaching method is v diff to other unis and not everbody is suited to it despite if they do well in exams. the interview is supposed to highlight who works best in that sort of environment
