Gunfight arena uses freemodels, bad bot ai, and the dev studio also tries to buy out small games and extensively monetize them to be pay to win. THEY EVEN TRIED TO BUY OUT HELLMET FOR 100K USD

Even the ones that won, that I think are good (doors and catalogue) have only won because they were more popular (or more relatable to a broader audience in Catalogues case, rather than actual assesment of quality

Fun Fact: There was a form people were able to fill out to nominate games into the category of "Best Shooter Game." This means, Arsenal, Hellmet, Guts & Blackpowder, and Gunfight Arena were all popular enough to be nominated by the players to begin with. Although it does suck seeing these larger games beat out other small (and most likely work in progress) games, it does mean that these games have a chance to become something greater than what they were before (except Gunfight Arena). Roblox put the games that were most nominated, so they didn't just do it because they felt like it. Personally, I feel like the standings should've been:
1. Arsenal
2. Guts & Blackpowder
3. Hellmet
4. Gunfight Arena
Instead, Gunfight Arena got second because some kids don't have the correct brain development to realize that Gunfight Arena is just a poorly made version of Arsenal and Super Paintball, albeit with terrible bots. Although I've never tried Hellmet, I've seen gameplay and it looks really cool, and personally as someone who played Guts & Blackpowder and Arsenal, both of those games are really cool. The community in Arsenal is a little more toxic then G&B however, but gameplay wise they're really fun and make for fun repetitive gameplay, rather than shitty botted gameplay that milks the game dry since little kids don't know they aren't even playing against real players.
Overall, this is probably one of the worst Roblox Innovation Awards event they've done, and instead of giving the power of voting to smooth brains, go through games that are at least growing and are good (like they did in previous award events).

TLDR; Gunfight arena stinky, Hellmet and G&B are really fun and deserve more credit, Arsenal is fun but is just too popular to let these other games stand a chance.
And also G&B has another chance to win in "Best Fighting," however The Strongest Battlegrounds is of course in that category too. Make sure you vote for G&B to give credit to these well-made, unpopular but still growing games so they stand a chance in the future of Roblox!

Roblox didnt pick these games, its the community. People just chose arsenal for the shooter game category as thats the most well known one.
Also, I would like to point out that its not surprising that Arsenal is winning, because they had such great impacts in the Hunt and the Classic event, being the one of the best games in each event, so its a no brainer for people to choose Arsenal because of how amazing they did in those community events

But they should give others a chance. Hellmet is an original idea that Roblox has been lacking for a long time! So was g&b! But the community was shaped is such a way now that these iPad kids can’t except new things
I feel like it’s the event because it basically just wants the people to pick the most popular games for points and why not hide the votes so people don’t know what game is winning, how much a game lost by, and so people would not switch their answers to the game that is winning I don’t want the devs to feel bad by how much they lost by, and no hate to hellmet but it couldn’t be played on mobile
Heres a little thing about this whole competition. Its a popularity contest, that means the higher the number the better the chance it wins. It doesn't matter if a game is better than the other. Cuz in retrospect all the games are good. Its just that the ones with the higher number is more in favor thats what this whole contest is.

do think it's slightly more complicated than that. I looked, and apparently DtI has 3x the playercount of Catalogue. Instead, it might have to do with, in order of importance imo:
1: How broad is the audience?
2: As you said, the actual size of the player base.
3: Did it have a recent event, eg, the classic.
Arsenal had a wider appeal, the greater player count and the best The Classic event entry. It won, massively.
Doors has a smaller player count, but had in the past a larger one. It has generally more recognition with, I remember, some big streamers playing it and praising it back in 2022, was it? This probably gave it the win. Plus, a more simple factor could be that the doors thumbnail looks better than Piggy's.
DtI had an albeit fairly lacklustre event in the classic, and, as I mentioned, higher player count, but lost due to it's less broad appeal.
Catalogue might have had pretty much anybody use it in the past. If you are poor and want to larp having robux, want to make an avatar of (any) aesthetic or description as opposed to the more limited DtI system or are part of a fandom, there is appeal.
As for the current vote, blox fruits, it wins from sheer player count. It's actually ridiculous.

Hellmet should have more votes because it's not any ordinary FPS games because the perspective is on the helmet's camera.

Don’t know about the other games but gunfight arena isn’t that good imo, I’m prestige 2 (I know not that much) and it doesn’t really feel like a competitive shooter
I feel pretty bad for Hellmet's owner (Sensei_Developer), he made that game all by himself whlie only 17, but the quality of the game still very good and fun to Play. His game can get to this point is admirable, sadly he has no chance to win

Arsenal's event in the Classic might have factored into it's votes moreso than it's playerbase.
Player count wise, atleast as I'm writing this, is not much larger than g&b's player count as i remember it.
I think that it was tourist players from during the Classic event, who visited arsenal's entry, obviously enjoyed it because it was the best out of all the entries, and left. Never experiencing the other games, or much of, if any of arsenal's 360 d/y gameplay.

And how is arsenal innovating?!? The most it did was copy from the Gun Game modes, from other games, and be the earliest to do so. G&B has a setting unique to it only, and the campaign maps have gameplay unique to g&b. Endless isn't really original though, it needs a rework imo

As a person who is semi good at scripting, I am honestly concerned that if I make a game with actual fun and enjoyable gameplay, it will just get dogpiled on by all these overrated games.
These games, are essentially a GIANT middle finger to ALL the game devs that make good games. The Innovation Awards doesn't help it either. Instead, it does the opposite. Stretches the middle finger upwards so that more people can clearly tell that if you make a good game, it will just not succeed mainly because of Roblox's bias.
