- How to change the ergostart / easy start spring recoil system on this leaf blower back to the old normal style recoil.
Having used this now for a few weeks, the difference is amazing, it starts so much easier (for me) and far more consistently, I forgot how good normal recoils are.
This fix is not for everyone and aimed at more professional users who have the ability to pull an engine over easily.
Thanks for watching 👍

Thanks so much for posting this. That Stihl easy-start is truly a royal PITA. I broke and replaced about 3 springs before figuring out my own work-around. Now I can use the official part.
No worries, hope it helped 👍
really easy to follow and good clear camera angle changed out just fine
Nice one 👌
You sir are a legend 💪🏼
👍
Excellent video! Thank you!
Thanks 👍
My cord doesn’t come under tension until right at the end, is this my fix?
Where can this part be purchased?
Thanks for making this video
👍
Thanks very helpful 👍
Cheers 👍
My bg86 sputters when I'm tilting it side to side or up and down, I don't know what's wrong with it
Could be an air leak, carb issues or needs tuning. 🤷♂
how do you change the other spring its just pops all over the place.
The bottom one? You either manually wind it back in, or coil it up then put it in.
Were you able to recoil it ? Mines just popped out .trying to get it in but man alive . A woman shouldn't swear 😂
Any tips of getting the lower rewind spring back into place. I had the round case when it came but binned it when i got a new one. Wished i'd saved that now because it came unsprung when I dropped it down but i managed to get it back into the case. Thanks
You can either manually wind it into the holder itself, or wind it separately and use zip ties or something to hold it together then carefully plonk it in. 👍
@@RJLmachinery Hi there thanks for the reply :) - i managed to F Up 3 machines 2 km56rc x2 on the same day and a blower. pull the cord right out and other eff upps. Thanks for your vids One left to fix thanks. Zip ties are my friend - and treble jointed tiny fingers - would be a good Evolutionary trate. And someone who shines the torch - where you're looking. Ha :)
Do you have a link to the replacement part??
Nope
@@RJLmachineryfound it out eBay. Thanks anyways. Thanks for the video, worked for me.
I’m having an issue with my pull cord, not coming under tension until I have pulled 12inches of cord out, leaving just inches under tension and failure to start, will this fix that problem?
Sounds like your spring and main rotor are not engaging properly, have you got the easy start version?
@@RJLmachinery Yes, I do, it worked great for an awful long time and then I went to pull and it failed me, when I take it apart as you did the pull works smooth and retracts properly, then when I put it back together, again it pulls tension right at the end of it’s lenght.
Where can this part be purchased?
Following. Need to know where we can purchase this part. Thank you.
Why not put in a link ? 😐@@RJLmachinery
@@renec8127 You're joking right? I've already done the hard work of finding and showing the part number needed. I'm not going to baby sit people who are too lazy to type the part number in online. I'm not a free consultant and personal parts shopper for you 😂
