Grew up reading Garfield as a kid. I remember Bill Murray voicing Garfield.
He did a really amazing job. It fit really well

I totally agree about the voice. I grew up with the Garfield Specials and then watched Garfield and Friends on Saturday Mornings. The voice will take some getting used to for sure.

Lorenzo Music will always be the voice I hear when I think of Garfield. Absolute legend.
Also the thing about the classic Garfield is that everything was an internal monolog It was his thoughts not him speaking. That was a big thing that the 2006 movie and this one are changing about him..

It’d be more fitting if we’d just get to hear his voice and Garfield not open his mouth. If I can remember correctly, it was typically him, Nermal, and sometimes the random spider that would show up that would communicate via inner monologue.
This is a Garfield voice that I’m gonna have to get used to as well. It could be promising but Lorenzo music has that really distinctive tone that makes Garfield Garfield. Animation looks good tho

I grew up reading the comics and watching the cartoon. Yes Garfield had that distinct voice and there was a few Garfield films and Bill Murray was the voice of Garfield which was perfect. Chris Pratt is NOT the voice.

Regretfully, he passed away in 2001.
The original Garfield / Peter Venkman voice is iconic. The voice here is jarring, but ill.try and get used to it.

I'm 48 and I'm with you Tyrone. I remember the Garfield comics & cartoon. The OG voice is classic, they should have gotten something close to that. I'd rather Heathcliff in some ways to Garfield.

Yeah i mean i wouldnt say chris pratt is the perfect choice for garfield but i got the feeling people just hate on this voice so much because they just know how chris pratt sounds like. They also say he sounds exactly the same as mario. I would say kinda but you can definetly tell the difference. Garfield sounds like chris pratt just with a lazy tone and sounding a bit down. while in marios voice it is more upbeat with stronger brooklyn accent

Not 100% accurate to the comics, according to the comics, Garfield was born in the kitchen of an Italian restaurant, he had such an appetite the owner couldn't afford to keep him so he gave him up for adoption, Jon Arbuckle adopted him and they've been together since. It also claimed Garfield was "heavyset" from birth. But whatever, no movie based on a book is ever 100% accurate to the book.
