I'm interested and opted for the newsletter. I hope I can get an EDC version overseas. The FAQ about battery usage on the 18650 is a bit vague and I get there are lots of different types but couldn't you just give the measurements of what fits in your lights to prevent buying too long batteries that won't fit? Even if you'll release it next year, the site from the link in the description should be visible on your main page either as upcoming product in the drop down menu or on the main page when scrolling. Having a few power modes to use, also one just to read something without being too bright from reflective surfaces would be nice. The different protectors are great. I'll stay tuned.

Will it be a clicky tailcap (half-press momentary, full-press constant) or a momentary only switch with a twist for constant? I'd prefer the latter, even though the ND caps would probably serve well enough to protect against the old Hot Pocket.

This really looks like you have solved a lot of problems that exist right now with the Thyrm and handheld tactical/EDC lights. I use the Thyrm on a Surefire Fury which is nice when mounted on your kit but way to big for EDC. Streamlight makes smaller lights but their tail cap design just doesn't operate well with the Thyrm and their lights aren't as durable as a Surefire. But this light being smaller, with a more powerful beam and having adjustable heights on the tailcap along with being rechargeable at a surprisingly low price point almost seems too good to be true. I am excited to get one. I know the non-tactical crowd may not appreciate the Thyrm Switchback but it's probably just because they don't understand it. Is this Switchback made specifically for the CD light or do you use one of the current Switchback models? I have broken a couple Thyrms' in the past where the finger ring snaps together either by rolling over them on the ground or from pulling them out of a pouch to many times. They are such an advantage to have on a light though, so I just always keep a couple spare ones on hand.

Ok so only one major flaw that I see...there is no admin mode for stuff like looking at a license or looking at the labels in the breaker box, etc. The Surefire gas pedal is a phenomenal feature not just for LE but for EDC use. I was holding off on buying a Surefire because I knew CD was working on something, but now that I know it's going to essentially be a pocket spotlight I find myself leaning towards Surefire again. I could of course carry a capable keychain light with a 5 lumen mode, but it would still be nice to have your edc light be capable of switching from admin to threat assessment at the drop of a hat.

@@hudsonhayer9376 not going to tell you what to do, but I will never buy another Olight again. I’ve owned 6. I’ve had the s1r, s2r, i3e eos, m1t, and two i3Ts. The issue is they don’t hold up. The S2R lasted me the longest. A little over 6 months before the light head decided to crap out. It would only flicker. Like it was stuck in strobe mode. Dealt with Olights customer service and they sent me a new head. Took like 10 weeks to get to me. So I bought the m1t while I was waiting. It didn’t even make it to when the new head for the s2r came in. It had the exact same problem. The S1R and all of the AAA lights ended up getting lost. The i3E fell off my keychain. Literally unscrewed itself from the tailcap. Both of the i3Ts had they pocket clips break on me and they ended up falling out of my pocket at some point. I think the S1R got magnetized to the door of my truck as I climbed out. That happened several times. The seatbelt would snag the pocket clips when I took it off and would sling the light over to where it would get stuck on the door frame. I think I just failed to notice it this last time.
TLDR; Get a streamlight or a surefire if you can afford that. The stream lights are the same price and are much better built.

This would be perfect if there was a low mode. Maybe like 10-50 lumens? It would be perfect for just regular activities where you would need a flashlight, like reading a sign or looking for your keys at night. And then you see something suspicious and with a push of a button you have a beam that comes straight from the hand of god.

@@lukakapyro Remote switching as well as SF z68. Plus I have a bunch of momentary-only (non-latching) switches built on SF tailcaps. Solves the ND issue entirely. You probably shouldn't be using constant-on with these ultra-high output handhelds anyway. Depending on the programming, they will either burn you or step way down in output. Both of which are lame.
