  • The plaintiff rented an apartment from the defendant. She claims the defendant won’t return her security deposit because the defendant wants to make improvements to the apartment with her money. She’s suing for the security deposit and parking ticket. The defendant argues the plaintiff was conducting her hair business out of her apartment and clogged the drains. She also argues the plaintiff didn’t comply with her no pet policy.

Great, a grown woman with 4 kids and a fish tank the size of a bath and the taxpayers are stumping up for the lot. She doesn't have to contribute so much as a buck. What a system.

If you qualify for section 8 that doesn't mean you get "free rent", it means you pay 1/3 of your income to rent so that you can. pay other living expenses. Average cost of. 1 bedroom apt in So Ca is $1,800, for 2 bedroom, probably $2,500, so if your job pays you minimum wage and you are trying to make ends meet it is difficult. Oh, did. I mention that most landlords require. 3 times the rent in monthly income. Section 8 protects people from living in the streets, in tents or motorhomes.

These type of cases are among the reasons I stopped renting to Section 8 tenants such as single parents and several children. In addition, many of my former tenants, under the Section 8 program, refused to follow the program rules, damaged property, moved in unauthorized people, conducted unauthorized businesses, etc. The Section 8 program pays approximately 70% less than the fair market value per unit and they no longer reimburses landlords for damages to property that exceed the deposit. It’s not worth the headache and drama.

Who pays nothing to live, she's living off our tax dollars. She gets to sit at home and be a bum.. collect, food stamps, child support for 5 kids and all she has to do is keep the children fathers out of the house. Once again black children are not being raised in a true family. There should be a time limit for government funding, 2 or 3 years max. Make people like this get a job and take care of her children...

"you're in section 8 but you have a tempur pedic bed?" Not a fan of that comment. That's like saying, "oh, you get food stamps but you're eating steak?" Love the judge but that was a little judgy.

She is correct though. She is on section 8 and she has a tempur pedic bed. What don't you like about facts? 🤣

I see what you’re saying for sure. However, when someone is on section 8 they most likely live in poverty. Individuals who live in poverty and have section 8 should use their earned income for merchandise that’s needed. On top of that it speaks to the plaintiff’s poor money management skills. You can’t pay a portion of your rent but you can afford a temper pedic? Individuals who live in poverty with poor money management skills seem to have difficulties getting themselves out of poverty. Mainly bc they don’t have money saved. Their money is going to crazy interest rates at places like Rent A Center and Ashley. Etc… judge Milan should not have made comment tho.

@@ebonywhite5846 You don't know how old her tempur pedic bed is. I have a tempur pedic but only because it was donated to me. Also, she said she used to work. Maybe she had a very good job... things happen.

Y’all blaming the grown woman for being on sec 8but where the dads? It’s a lot to take care of four kids and most times the dads aren’t active.

I lived in government housing as a child and I told myself early on that it would be a cold day in hell before I lived in government housing as an adult. When I was 18 I moved out and never went back to live with my parents. Yes, early on I had a tiny little apartment. That was pathetic and I also lived in run down mobile home trailers but I work my butt off and lived within my means. I had a 15-in TV, no cable, Dial up internet, and my car was not the nicest. I did end up starting a family at the age of 24 so I had to work even harder. I did have to sacrifice many of my Saturdays so I could not even attend certain events my kids were involved in. But not once that I ever seek out government assistance. 30 years after moving out I am doing very well. I own a home, drive a nice car, can I get to enjoy a certain luxuries. However, I have never purchased a $2,000 bed.
It is unreal to me the number of people who scam the system living off taxpayer money rather than working hard to support themselves. Is no wonder they have no pride. The only pride I do see is the proud feeling they have that they manage to get so much free money without having to work for it.
