I love all Aerosmith, but you really need to react to their 70's music. Sweet Emotion, Walk This Way, Dream On, Back In The Saddle, Train Kept a Rollin just to name just a few. The brunette is actress Liv Tyler, who is Steven Tyler's daughter. Liv was in Lord Of the Rings and Armageddon to name a few.
Liv Tyler is the brunette, she is Steve’s real life daughter. She was in Armageddon, and the ballad played was probably, I don’t want to miss a thing, it was from that movie. That’s their most popular contemporary ballad to date.
This song was very popular because of the novelty of having actress alicia Silverstone. And Steven Tyler's real life daughter liv Tyler in it. as steven had only recently confessed to her that he was her dad. And he helped her choreograph some of her dance moves to mimic his. Even more remarkable is that liv has built a phenomenal career despite being dyslexic including being an accomplished pro horse rider who performed her own horse riding stunts in the lord of the rings movies and sustained a facial laceration doing one of them.

Y'all should do a double reaction where you check out Aerosmith's Walk This Way and then the Run DMC rap cover of the same song. The crossover brought hip hop to a wider audience and also revived Aerosmith's career. It was a big moment in the 80s.

Alicia Silverstone wasn't a known actress at the time. This is one of three Aerosmith videos she was the main character in during this time period, so she was mainly known as the "Aerosmith video girl" before she broke out with the movie Clueless. The last little bit with the guy in the parachute was a funny easter egg reference to another Alicia Silverstone Aerosmith video called "Amazing." At the time, the Silverstone videos were in this order: "Cryin" "Amazing" and "Crazy." They reference each other.

This song brings back so many memories for me. It's one of a little trilogy including Amazing and Crying. We had many a night when we got home from the pub at dark o'clock and would put this album on and sing along at the top of our voices.
60 years old born 1963 grew up in the 70s and the 80s there was no such thing as a controversial video. You have to remember this was all before the crybaby era where we have to put closets in colleges for grown men to cry in. We all had plenty of things to do that we didn't spend our lives trying to tell everybody else what to do. We enjoyed music and life.

The Director's Cut version is a little longer because the striptease scene is more detailed. This is the version played by MTV and other TV networks. Alicia Silverstone also was in 2 other Aerosmith's music videos: "Cryin" and "Amazing". Both songs are from the same album than "Crazy" and the videos were released prior to "Crazy". I was so glad to hear you say you prefer to hear the studio version first because that’s the way we originally heard it. I’ve seen so many reactions that made me cringe because the reactor just had to watch a concert version, or the official video which was distracting because the visual part is from a movie and really has nothing to do with the lyrics. There are some concert versions which are great but it’s best to be familiar with the studio version first. On rare occasions it’s best to go straight to the concert version.
Having said that, I think the first time I heard Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” was in the ending credits for the movie Armageddon. As many others have commented, the brunette in “Crazy” is the daughter of Steven Tyler, the lead singer. She played Bruce Willis’s daughter in Armageddon. For the song they showed clips from the movie with images of Steven in place of Bruce. It was very touching, especially after watching the movie. I would actually recommend watching the movie if you haven’t, and then maybe skip the credits so you can react to the official video. The song is a beautiful ballad and the movie is great.
Gotta admit, I'm partial to early Aerosmith. I like the 90s commercial stuff, but I almost always go to their early stuff when I listen to them. I think Jaded is probably their best 90s song. I still wouldn't take it over any of the 70s Aerosmith.

If there was any controversy about the video or the song, it's news to me. Very popular song when it came out, lots of airplay, and the video was one of the most requested that year. Ass far as the video goes, "highly sexualized" was for me at the time just two girls having fun, ha ha. I imagine that's how most people felt about it at the time, at least the people who liked Rock in general and this song in particular.
