If they could make trees one block taller travelling on horse would be just that little bit less headwrecking.

I mean, what even *is* "cheating" in Minecraft, really? I absolutely second this, iJevin. Play Minecraft however you prefer. Period.
Ya even though he cheats it is still fun and entertaining to watch.
Remember to take a hopper to place under the chest to suck the items out, they don't trigger hostile for stealing from chest.
QOTD: I love the update, but it absolutely took some getting used to. I definitely understood what you were saying in episode one about it being a bit overwhelming, especially as it's the first major change in terrain generation in ages, and definitely the biggest. But I kind of like the feeling of being small in the world you mentioned. I like feeling like I'm not the most important, end-all-be-all thing in the world. I like feeling like carving out my place in the world is a challenge rather than a given.
I love the solo survival series you do, keep up the good vids ;)
Qotd: i think mojang managed to make an amazing update, it's so fun caving in the lush caves and mountains look so good now !
Qotd: I love the new mob spawning mechanic. The veins and ores really make mining more fun. I also like how the more useful version of deepslate is cobbled, meaning your silk touch pick is no longer the default for all mining, as you'll use your fortune pick for more than just ores.
Dashyâs stable is so cute!! Also qotd- I totally am in love with the new update! The new cave systems are so much fun to get lost in and explore and exploring the overworld is so much better now too
About the spawner...

Impulse showed that wall/fence trick a number of years ago and I rarely see it used in anyone else's tutorials. Good lookin out on using and showing such a massive yet hilariously simple improvement for these types of spawner farms.

QOTD: I'm SO happy with the update! I've always had some trouble with making my builds fit into the world, specifically because I always felt that the natural scale of the world was off. Everything was too small to feel realistic for me, and I've always wanted to do more realistic builds and explore architectural styles with Minecraft, so that was always frustrating to me. I feel like with the new update everything is much more in scale, and the tweaks to world generation make the whole environment look AMAZING! It's going to take a little adjustment, but I'm SO excited for the possibilities. I feel like I'm much more likely to be able to make my builds fit the rest of the world now without having to teraform the whole damn map.
The terrain in 1.18 is amazing and gives the Minecraft world a much-needed upgrade. I also like 1.18âs changes to lighting which allows more creativity for lighting in builds. Copper is also a pretty nice addition that fits multiple build palettes depending on oxidation stages. The lush caves are also amazing!
Itâs always the Endermen that get you in Letâs Plays lol. Thatâs how a couple youtubers I know lost their hardcore worlds.

Qotd... yes this Caves and Cliffs update is so amazing... considering the "caves update" has been a meme for 10 years, it absolutely astounds me how hard they went with this update. It's such a massive game changing update, even bigger then 1.16 or even 1.13/14

So many bugs⊠and Mojang says they wonât fix some of them which are actually problematic such as world blending which blends structures.
Ok that jingle bell beat was great and the storage cave gives off a mystical feel loved it!

QotD: Iâm loving Caves and Cliffs on the (w)hole. The adventure of caving is actually an adventure now!! But I also think it has made the meta more difficult. Thatâs a good thing, and Iâm excited for a slower, more methodical approach.
QOTD: I personally think this update has been really great..... they have added a lot of variety now.... but I do feel small in the world when I play....

Qotd: I honestly find it insanely hard to find diamonds in fact I havenât found a single naturally spawned diamond. Is my world glitched? Anyway itâs way to late to just restart so I had to get my gear from end raiding
I had the same problem until I started strip mining at -59
I loved the 1.18 Caves and Cliffs update because of the AMAZING terrain and the very deep and cool caves.
Qotd: gotta love the new way mojang has updated the procedural generation. Iâve felt for a while that Minecraft would be sooo much better with larger terrain. It perfects the way everything should look in terms of size and exploration.
The thing I love most about the series so far is the casualness of it. Unlike other lets plays, new builds here donât feel like gigantic chain quest undertakings that make me feel like every build is insanely complicated when really a horse pen was 5 by 5 and had some nice deco to it. That takes ten minutes tops if you know what itâs going to look like before hand, and 30 minutes otherwise. So, all in all, you talked about your worries of this world not involving the fans enough, but I think so far itâs done just fine in that department. Keep up the good work, and thanks a lot.
The vanilla tweaks datapack for coordinates is how the game should be anyway. The debug screen coordinates are so awash with other information.

I see you still have QOTD, I honestly have no clue what it is but I see in the comments it must be some thing to do with caves and cliffs which is awesome. I have been watching your videos for years (since I was 15 and Iâm now 21) and I havenât been able to catch up until now. Iâm happy to see that you are still making videos, even after your channel kind of died the first time. I am definitely still a long time fan and love to see that you are still making new letâs play videos.

QOTD: Absolutely love the update. I can definitely see the cons as it would definitely overwhelm a lot of players but as it stands now its amazing. It's renewed an interest in the game for me so its overall a plus for me.
âą I know this video is a few months old & you might already have the answer, but I wanted to let you know that the light source in your spawner is most likely from the red stone you left in the wall. It gives off a little light. If a player or a bat hits/touches it, itâll glow even brighter. âą

Use the grindstone at the zombie spawner so you can get the XP from the enchanted drops or purge junk enchants!
Love the new update, but I find it harder to get up to speed for two reasons. 1st reason, all I want to do is explore. 2nd reason caves are more dangerous if you don't go in prepared.

QOTD: I think Mojang really outdid themselves with the Caves and Cliffs Update. The music for it is so amazing and beautiful.
qotd: i think mojang did an amazing work not only on the terrain but on the numerous optimization of the game after updating to java 17 as well. it runs so much smoother on my potato of a pc than 1.17 did. i do hope they have plans for more optimizing and adding more graphical features specially into the fabulous shaders. a lot can be done with them now but so much more could be done to enhance the game. oh btw, all ingame music from minecraft should be safe to play on YT.

IJevin my take on the update: Great features, the ones that where missing where huge though. we got 1/2 an update. Wish HC season 9 was going to have skulk sensors. Sad.
Qotd: I honestly wasn't looking forward to the update. I thought it would just make exploring and caving unnecessarily difficult. But, while it is more difficult, it's also more fun and I can't stop exploring and caving đ€
Dashie? xD Dude that was probably a My Little Pony reference. In Generation 4, "Dashie" was a pet name a whole bunch of guys in the fandom gave Rainbow Dash. Especially popular was a fourth wall-breaking fan story called "My Little Dashie" - while the possibility absolutely exists I can hardly imagine the person who suggested the name wasn't making a reference.
I played the seed. There is a warden room and a mineshaft connected with some diamonds and plenty of enchanted boooks.

I wish there were less giant caves that are just open to the surface, but that is really my only complaint about 1.18.

Hi iJevin i think the update was decent i mean ogs like me and you will have to kinda re learn stuff but the seeds and mountains are really good and beautiful
1.18 was not an expansive update, but it is definitely the most important and positive update the game has received in a long time. No part of the Overworld was left untouched, everything was sharpened and refined.
Because of 1.18 tying up the loose ends of current Minecraft, future updates will be able to bring us exciting new content built on a stronger foundation.
Just a note: You can now use Glow Lichen instead of signs for water elevators :) ...and it looks pretty good on Deep Slate too :P

For some reason the water flow at the bottom doesnât go through the fence gate like it did with yours, thereâs a gap between the water sources and the mobs donât go far enough in to be flown away, does water work differently in Java (Iâm on bedrock)
