    Well, been practicing “how would you like me to call you” for 3 months already and I have my exam tomorrow…and boom! Arora ruins all my pre-learnt routines 😄😄

      @@dr_aman_arora thanks a lot! But as far as I understood, as long as I am comfortable with this approach and it sounds fluent and natural, it’s fine to go with it, right? E.g. “my, my name is …, I’m one of the junior doctors…may I confirm you name please? … and how would you like me to call you?”

    I think the notion that the British are really sensitive when they are not addressed well or called in a certain way has been passed along, then that’s a bit of a mark down. Candidates will definitely turn away. All the same I agree with you. We are just scared as we don’t know what is going on in minds of both the patient and examiner.

      There is a lot of uncertainty in this exam for candidates - often due to mixed messages - which leads to a lot of stress.

    Hey Doc, just a small question. Are there any better ways to introduce yourself while talking to a nurse/colleague/medical student?

      There are no rules regarding these things. As long as it natural and with respect then all is fine

    In the introduction i feel confortable to say after introducing myself nice to talk to you or nice to see you can we use these phrases??

    • @dr_aman_arora
      @dr_aman_arora  Před 2 lety +1

      There is nothing wrong in saying these phrases... they are just not commonly used in UK practice

    Do I have to give my full name or is my first name enough? Thank you for making this one, it was bothering me for quite some time now, finally got the answer I've been looking for. :)

    • @dr_aman_arora
      @dr_aman_arora  Před 2 lety +3

      First name is usually enough if that is what you are comfortable enough. For example I would say ‘Hi I’m Dr Aman…’

    Do I need to mention the department and if I am a junior doctor? Also is it a must to confirm the age?
