I thought I will earn more in the private sector and invest to grow my corpus which will take care of my retirement. Now by increasing capital gains taxes and reintroduction of Pension scheme, this government has played a joke on me and taken me for a ride 😭.
UPS is actually beneficial for the government in comparison to the corpus accumulation in NPS. Instead of settling it as a lumpsum, the government is better off with paying in installments bu investing it properly managed by high intellectuals like Subra sir. It's also a great bonanza for the government if both the government servant and the spouse die soon after the retirement.
1. Govt employees also pay taxes 2. Instead of cribbing about them getting social security, ask government to extend this benefit to all (like USA) 3. The pension benefit is already factored and deducted from the monthly salary. So, its not an additional benefit.
