Hemkund Sahib Yatra current information - / hemkuntsahibuk
Hemkund Sahib is the highest Gurudwara of the Sikhs, located at an altitude of 4633 mts in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.
This holy shrine got its name from the glacial lake Hemkund, adjacent to the Gurudwara whose literal meaning is the ‘Lake of Snow’.
This pilgrimage place of Sikhs is dedicated to the tenth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji (1666-1708), and also finds its mention in Dasam Grant,
a work dedicated to Guru Ji himself. A small temple of Lakshman, the brother of Lord Rama is also bedecked on the shore of Hemkund Lake.

Coming back to you,yes,as is your wont,you have dwelled on the aesthetic part of the location brought to light many vistas which were totally ignored by the lot,explored the yet unexplored. You are a genius. .
The views of ghangaria village were first of a kind. Although everyone travelling to hemkund sahib has to go through ghangaria,no one ever bothered to explore.
Your explanation of the relative elevation and gradient angle smacked of engineering knowhow. And yet you were subtle enough to revel in the beauty of a blooming flower.
Man,probably you are India's Michelangelo. Artist and engineer roled in one!!
Your team of young enthusiastic friends were exactly as they should have been. Eager,outgoing and willing to take calculated risks. Including the dip in hemkund sarovar.
So far as editing goes,this one is absolutely flawless and without parallel. You took a week to upload the blog,but the wait was worth it.. Quality does have its price. I'm happy and content.

Have seen so many videos of hemkund saheb and every time I see the kund and the path to reach hemkund saheb I get stunned and mesmerized by its divine beauty.
Uttarakhand and himachal pradesh are two real gems of india. Every indian should take a pledge to keep it clean and make it more beautiful and pollution free. Govt should also expand green infrastructure like electric cars or scooters to keep this beauty intact for next generations.

Hemkund sahib opens in the end of may.. from joshimath you have to go to Govind ghat.. and from Govind ghat it takes one day to reach ghangria by foot and next day ghangria to hemkund sahib..
