My boyfriend told me he was thinking about getting me a promise ring the 3rd to 4 years of us dating. I was all like “that’s cool,” when I got off the phone I cried I was so happy :D

My love and I have been together for 8 months. He traveled for 2 months to the states and just as he came back he gave me a promise ring. A few persons were opinionated about it in good and bad ways, but I think it's a good thing. It symbolizes his affection for me and shows we are committed and are preparing for something more. It may or may not evolve, but at least we are trying for it. Life is short. Little things like this should be done more often in relationships. Also, communication is a strong factor in a relationship, so that you can know where you stand! 😊 all the best guys.

@Mr. ENGlishJELLo true! And we got engaged recently on Valentine's Day! So at 8 months, I got a promise ring. Then, at 1 year and 5 months, the engagement ring. Hollywood got nothing on me 😄
I've been with my boyfriend Tom for almost 8 months. We got together in late October 2020. he gave me a promise ring 3 months in our relationship , he told me the meaning was that he'll love me for the rest of his life and also told me he planned on giving me it on Valentines day but chose to give it early because he wanted to make sure it was the right size and could get it swapped if needed. Because the ring would have been a little too big for my wedding finger on my left hand, I've placed it on my middle finger
Actually my boyfriend got me a promise ring and that was last year and it was on our second Valentine’s Day and I actually did looked it up about what is a promise ring this and that it means that the guy is thinking about asking to marry you and see what else happens but so far I love it PS I’ve been with my boyfriend almost 3 years and I have never been with my boyfriend this long so I’m pretty happy !

Me and my girlfriend met online on a game called Novoland. And now Valentine's day will be 3 months into our relationship and we picked out promise rings so even though were states alway right now, we will always have our rings as a reminder of our love and commitment to one another.

I have a question about promise rings! Can both men and women wear them? Can my boyfriend gove me one and I give him one? And does they need to be the same colour? Can I get a rose gold one and he a silver one or would that be weird/wrong?
