    I have been looking all day trying to figure out how the rapid testing test works. This was awesome. Every time I had a question or got confused you either answered the question or explained it. Thank you so much,

    What is the sensitivity of the RT-PCR?

      @interpretyourlabtests7734  Před 4 lety

      Major leading platforms of RT PCR currently available have a sensitivity of at least 95 %.

    Hi Dr. Farouq, what is the interpretation if a rapid testing kit resulylt has a significant red line on C and blurry to non-distinguish mark on the IgM? Thank u in advance

    I have been on quarantine for 1 month. I tested positive in RT PCR 3 weeks after exposure. I did rapid test and there's a very light colored line on IGG and IGM. Can you tell me if I'm still infectious or recovered. I really want to end my quarantine I'm having bad anxiety and I think I'm falling to depression. :(

    Doctor sab kindly guide, if in 30 minutes only control line shows. And after 45 to 60 minutes both lines of IgG and IgM are start visible. Is this positive or negative.
    And what will be the next procedure.

    If some tests positive for COVID igG only (and they feel fine - no symptoms) but they felt unwell a few months ago with very bad diarrhea for 6 days plus sore throat - no sneezing, throwing up, hot and cold temperature does this mean they are getting over the virus? I had this diagnosis today :(

      @interpretyourlabtests7734  Před 4 lety

      Persons with a positive test in the absence of symptoms are categorised as asymptomatic carriers .
      This indicates that ur immunity is working good to keep the virus levels very low , however there is good chance that u may transmit the infection . Saying that u may need to see ur doctor when any symptoms show up .
      As of now the maximum reported window period is 28 days . Anything prior to that most likely is not associated with COVID 19 .

    This test will be useful for diagnosing asymptomatic patients at virus exposure on days #5-6?

    • @interpretyourlabtests7734
      @interpretyourlabtests7734  Před 4 lety +1

      It can but needs to be confirmed with one more rapid test after 2 weeks . Untill then self isolation is advisable .

    Is the IgM and IgG are exclusively for covid virus? Or this is also exist in other virus?

    • @interpretyourlabtests7734
      @interpretyourlabtests7734  Před 4 lety

      Body produces different antibodies against different antigens ( oraganims). To be more clear the antibodies produced against the regular flu are different from teh coronavirus . Thats one reason why u one vaccime wont work all the organisms.

    In case of autoimmune pancreatitis patients have increased level of igG4 antibodies. It will increase or decrease the chance of covid19 infection? Pls reply me

    • @interpretyourlabtests7734
      @interpretyourlabtests7734  Před 4 lety +1

      I believe it doesn't work that way . Antibodies are highly specific. Antibodies against one organism will work only on that organism . They won't affect any other organism . The only way to get antibodies to Corona virus infection is either by vaccination or by successfully defeating the infection .
      In autoimmune disorders , immune system mistakenly identifies our own organs as foreign and try to eliminate them by antibodies, which cause organ specific injury . They offer no protection against any infections.

    Im tested positive in rapid test on july 28, +igG and +igM ,, so i decided to have a swab test yesterday, is there a chance that the result of the swab test will be negative?

      Fairly low . But again , rapid cards are highly unreliable . It can show a surprise

      @interpretyourlabtests7734  Před 4 lety +1

      As of now 3different methods are available
      1.RT -PCR( Roche , Qiagen )
      2. Isothermal nucleic acid amplification method (Abott)
      3.antibody tests (Cellex)

      As of now, several countries have been reporting multiple issues regarding the accuracy of the antibody tests.
      As of now positive cases are staying positive even after with confirmatory tests like PCR, but negative cases are not truly negative in the majority of the cases. They need a repeat testing after 14 days to confirm the status.
      Some countries have decided to not use these antibody tests for diagnosis. They are ideal to determine the prevalence of the infection in the population ( check the presence of community transmission)
