Great career probably HOF if he caught that ball in superbowl
Asante was a dawg on the field.
Straight up dog!
Stayed getting beat
He couldn’t tackle lo
Assante was that dude. Smart as hell. Best route jumping corner I've ever seen. He gambled, but mostly won. HOF corner IMO. He was easily one of the best of his era.
The dude jus knew how to end up with the dam ball 🏈, hated him most of his career being a Giants fan but I respect hella a player hof imo
Yeah he was very skillful at his position

the way Asante broke down his case for Brady and why he didn’t travel…this man is special he truly knows ball on a nex level

I like him but he doesn’t communicate well enough. I hate Brandon Marshall but watch a minute of each one explaining something and Brandon is 10x more marketable for that type of role.
The audience spans many ages with many backgrounds so being able to communicate clearly so the most people can understand is the most important.

I can't remember who the Patriots were playing but I'll never forget Asante Samuel running towards the quarterback as if he was coming on a corner blitz, only to drop back in his back pedal and the quarterback threw it straight to him, man they showed it slow motion one of the best plays ever, been doing it in Madden ever since. 😄😄
People fall for that shit every time on madden lol. Play with the slot corner act like you're blitzing then float somewhere 10 yards back right before the snap. Slant/post They're gonna throw it right to you more times than not lol

This was by far the best podcast interview of all time in my opinion
When he broke down why Nnamdi was overrated it really blew my mind that it was that plain and simple though it never really cross my mind or never bought up by anyone as to why he struggled with the Eagles.
Nmandi was dominant on the Raiders. Dude gave up like 47% completion percentage for 4 years in a row in man to man coverage. Asante couldn’t have did that.
@@cperkins5050 It was even more dominate then that. 2007-2010 pass thrown his way and completions 2007 31 passes 10 completions, 2008 27 passes 8 completions, 2009 27 passes 13 completion and 2010 27 passes 10 completions. He went 4 years with less then 2 passes a game thrown against him. And less then a completion a game against him. He is as a beast in man coverage and took the qbs blind side of the field away. I was just enter college as a KC chiefs die hard fan. And those stats match my memory of his man to man skills. His down fall was going to Philly and playing zone. Philly wanted to let him match wr instead of treating him like a LT or RT as a CB. He knew every blade of grass a a rcb and every move or angle a wr could make from that side of the field. Raiders team d pass yards a game 2007 261 yards per game, 2008 266, 2009 259 and 2010 249. The rest of the d could zero in on everybody else
Asomugha was an elite bump and run man cover CB in Oakland playing off zone in Philly. It’s not like Asante didn’t also get burned constantly except he was a ballhawk. Andy Reid also made his Oline coach Juan Castillo his DC and he
didn't know wtf he was doing
I think he’s a little biased towards Nnamdi there’s definitely something personal there. I think nnamdi was just a scheme corner As long as you played to his strengths and specific coverage styles he was good he went to Philly and they tried to get him to play off man and zone.
@@korypeoples3497 yea you can tell he is still bitter about nnamdi coming to the birds
