It reminded me of when we had Gallas as captain. He sulked in the centre circle after drawing against Birmingham. A player was seriously injured, but there was no excuse for that. I really think it cost us the league that year. A better captain would have used it to win the league, like the year we lost Pires.
This is an issue when you appoint someone who is very weak mentally as captain. It's all sunshine and roses when winning, but any set back and the toys go out of the pram
As an Arsenal fan I am familiar with this feeling. Losing 8-2 to Man Utd all those years ago is still engrained in my brain, never felt so embarrassed. Kind of soothing to see United get the same treatment, even if it's not Arsenal dishing it out.

What struck me is the parallels between the Arsenal game and this until the fork in the road. Silly mistakes leading to both clubs being 2-0 down not long after half time. That though is where the parallels end. One team fought like Trojans, stuck together and somehow clawed their way back and I would still have been proud of that even if it hadn't worked out. As an Arsernal fan i wanted liverpool to win but never expecting that result. Now i would expect Ten Hag to do a lot of culling of certain players end of season and i expect that you have named most of them. utd only lost 3 points in league terms so try forget the score finish the season and wait for the CULL

But what stands out for me is how objectively and articulately you encapsulated how it feels when your club loses like this. I blame the manager completely. Every substitution he made was designed to make a defensively weak team, even weaker in defence.
He took off Fred who never stops running and tackling; he took off Weghourst who never stops running and tackling; he took off Casimero who protects the back 4; and he took off Martinez who is the toughest defender in the country. He may wrongly argue that none of them was having their best game, but he replaced them with far more inferior players!
The biggest problem was our front 3, and they all remained on the pitch. Antony was the worse player on the pitch. Fernandes was played out of position, and Rashford should have been moved to the left wing because he was receiving very little service in the middle! The manager got it totally wrong and he should be called out.
My biggest problem is not the lost ...my biggest pain is the attitude...I wanted Bruno to be our captain going forward but we cannot have a captain only when things go right..diving,moaning etc...Bruno wanted to be subbed off..I think a month rest would do him good...
It's the nature of this league, one day you're thrashing relegation bound minnows 10-0, the next you're getting humbled by some mid table team. I'm not saying Liverpool is mid table, but it tends to happen to every team in this brutal league.

There's an interesting question as to whether TH's tactical influence is so exacting that his players lose the ability to think on their feet when faced with an opposition that has sussed his tactics.
First you have to blame the Glazers. Gakpo was available for a good price but United went bargain basement - second you have to criticise ETH. Picking ineffective Weghorst means playing with ten men. Bringing McTominay means down to 9. Thirdly, having petulant show ponies that believe the hype you have a front line that does nit put in a shift, Anthony was a disgrace. Fourthly ETG did not adapt the team ir the tactics to tighten it up given Casemiro protects the back four having no-one that protecting that defence means they will be run ragged by skikful wide players and box centred strikers. United had Weghorst on the team sheet (did he play ? i don’t recall him doing anything if he did. No surprise there.) - and Bruno lost on the left. Is it any wonder they got a tonking. Worst of all was the OGS player traits came back again with a vengeance - entitled pussies. Whatever you think if Bruno as a player he is clearly not a captain. United need a kick-arse Keano character with the armband, and instead had a pathetic schoolboy throwing tantrums. When seven players play against eleven then a 7-0 drubbing should not be such a surprise. Many factors but ETH was the main one today.
I wonder if there is a case that TH's tactics are so exacting that his players have become unable to think on their feet when faced with an opponent that has a solution to their tactics. I say this for two reasons.
Unlike Klopp, Gaurdiola and Arteta who took time to develop a personality that is very evident in their teams, ManU don't have any noticeable traits.
Secondly, it would take a clear sighted tactician to turn a huge ship the size of ManU around and onto a steady path in such a short time.

The antics and attitude of Fernandes sound alarming, but I believe there is value in the practice of 'love the one you're with'. I would say there is definitely a case for removing the armband from him - but a better, more holistic outcome would be coach/ prompt the player to bring himself up the the required standard - and IS a required standard.
