My reaction to your finished sunset city scene is a big WOW. It is beautiful and I never imagine...I thought black ink which would have been ok.
Yes I like stencils. No die cutter, etc., so I appreciate the one layer or fussy cutting.
Yep ! I'm a fraidy cat when it comes to one layer. I'm a big pattern paper collector (correction: HOARDER) and I tend to stick in that mode. I have done ink blended backgrounds and embossing as background layers, but then I just ITCH to paper piece with pretty patterns somewhere. I will try to dig out my dusty stencils and go to town with ink blending again. ! Thanks for the reminders.
You Rock. Thank You and Happy New Year!
Great ideas! Thanks and Happy New Year!
Thanks so much Laurel. Great video and cards. Bring on the stencilling -- I can hardly wait. 😊
Thank you Laurel! Love all your ideas and techniques! Blessings, Cathy

I loved watching you stamp the scene stamp and blend the colors. Great tip!
Love the card techniques! Really like the trees/water! Thank you.

These are great, Laurel! I love your sense of humor. ❤️❤️😘
Great video. I had forgotten about some of these techniques. I love to make one or two layer cards because they fit easily into an envelope and don't cost extra postage.
Super job love this card thanks
I like your one-layer cards. Thanks for the ideas!
Love your videos. I'm a kind of person who likes direction and not a lot of show and you nailed it. Thank you sooooo much.
Ine layer cards are perfect for mailing, they definitely have space in my craft room too ! Thanks for your inspiring ideas.
Omg. The trees and lake panel is so stunning.
Really pleased, as I have a lot of cards to make and this is a real solution for me!! Thanks 😃👍🏻

Beautiful cards!!!
Love your cards. I usually do one or two layers. But simple. Especially for multiples.
Love the one layer cards!!!
nice techniques, thanks for sharing.
Great video! I'm jealous of your awesome hair!!!!
Hi Laurel. You had me laughing from your 1st sentence. I love one layer cards. TFS your tips and tricks. 🤗💜
My favorite card is the background scene. Love it!
Laurel,
Your one layer cards are spectacular!
Thank You!
Rarely do one layer cards but you make them so pretty! Like the stencilling and ink blending. U cld also emboss the front piece of yr card. Might be pretty too
My 1st time watching your channel & ya hit it out if the park ! I was very entertained & I learned a few tricks ! Thank you !!
Hi there! Thanks so much
Love these ideas.
I love one layer because I mail most of my cards. Great ideas, thanks !
I like these. I like single layer for mailing because my husband is a retired postal worker and I don't have any concerns about them jamming the sorters or requiring extra postage and special handling.
Thank you! Good ways to make flat cards more interesting.
One layers cards definitely have a place in my craft room. TYFS.
Hello how are you doing beautiful
Very nice. I do a lot of one layer cards since I mail from the US to Canada. The local post office has a coniption if I try to send anything with lump or bump.
I bought the toilet light based on your recommendation! My stepson and wife love it! Several little ones.
Adorable! TFS
You're so funny! 🤣🤣🤣
TFS your tips ☺️
Your table was shaking with laughter 😁
Great cards. I like one layer cards.
I rarely do one layer cards, it you inspire me to try! Thank you.
Hello how are you doing beautiful
I like one layer cards. With the newer stamps depth can be created with color & they take so much less time & materials to create. I am trying to organize my stamps so I can easily find a design or shape I want. There are so many different size sets I am working on a way to make them all a uniform size. I prefer to use a container with a lid because my storage space is limited. I am a corner of the living room stamper. Of course when involved in a craft or large card project involves adding a card table over one chair. I am pretty well organized now except for my sheets of stamps.
Beautiful cards 🥰 I love your techniques and card designs. I love the look of 1 layer cards, but I am not good at making them lol ❤ thanks for sharing your creativity Hugs xx
What a cute snowman card.
First time I went to a stamping gathering, I couldn't line up the hat on the snowman. so I used versa mark pen to make it looked like wind was blowing hat off.
I love one layer cards!
A lot of ideas to try out. Your videos are the best. Back to the craft room for me. Let the family eat left over what ever they can find.
hahahaha!
Stencils! Yea. Need to pull out my 'collection' 😉
Love all the cards Laurel. Ivé been meaning to ask for ages what is that on the sides of your misti? I've been admiring it for so long so I have finally asked.
I used Harry Potter washi tape to cover up the pink. Is that what you mean?
Love this!!! I can not find your video about making stencils with the cricut.
Hello how are you doing beautiful
I told someone recently how easy something was and said “badda bing badda boom”. I laughed so hard when I realized that I’ve picked that up from you. 😆
Lady, you are killing me. 😁 🙈 😂 Such a hoot watching. Best thing if you're in a mood is watching and listening to you. I hope at one point we get to meet. We'd be like twins in snark. 😁
These cards are definitely not boring! So easy with only a few supplies on those days when you don't want to drag out a whole bunch of supplies but still need some creative time. Thanks for the reminder that art can be one layer. Do you have a recommendation for where I might finds some slightly naughty or, sarcastic or, a bit snarky sentiment stamps? BTW I did not the stencil material link.
I forgot to link it... here is the link to the stencil material i use: amzn.to/3qqGPBP
Let me think on some fun snarky stamp sentiments sets!
Laurel, have you ever done any videos of things you do with your Cricut? I for one would be interested.
I made a video making my own stencils with my Cricut. But that's about it. Last month, I sold it since I found I was never reaching for it..
Your ideas are not scary! Lol lol. What they tell me is not to be afraid to make simple cards and to stop rating every card by some winner we made 5 years ago! This is so hard for me but even my hubby agrees with you and that guys really like less complex or frilly cards. So there!!!
They are scary but I really like the large stamp with the embossing.
Hi Laurel, it’s me, Deb. Lol. Loved your dancing Egyptian. Lol
I'd love to see you do a comparison on blender brushes. Maybe you could include Simon Says Stamp & others, as well as the miracle blender brushes you've shown us in your video. Also, what pan watercolors do you use? I really love your videos! I've probably watched almost all of them over the past several months. I especially like when you compare products and let us know what you don't like and why.
I only have Catherine Pooler and Amazon make up brushes. I do not see the need in buying the expensive brushes when the make up brushes work just fine. After all, that is where the idea came from! Save your money!
Love single layer cards. I belong to a fabulous FB group called Clean and Simple Cards. Some of them are outstanding. Professional finish...
Hi from the other side of the pond Laurel
I, for one, am a sucker for one later cards. Thanks for your video's, they really helped me to get back on the crafting-horseback:).
Have you tried the digistamps or cuttingfiles from The Ton (or any other brand)?
I prefer actual stamps and dies. Digi never works out for me because the ink in my printer smears.
I like over the top cards with crazy fold and multiple layers that use 10 gazillion techniques. I’m unlikely to be satisfied with a one layer card. I suppose I’m not really the audience for a one layer card video but I watched any way. Can’t say I was converted but I still think you had good ideas.
I've just found you and I LOVE YOU ❤ 😍
Hi!!!!
Loved all the cards you created. Yes I do like 1 layer cards. I have an idea what was wrong with your camera. It had low blood sugar and had the shakes (😂😂)
u rock !!!
Rarely do I make one-layer cards, but I do use those techniques on my backgrounds
Wow, I missed you, have you been gone? Have I been gone? ... one of us have been missing. NONETHELESS, thank you for putting this out there, I've been feeling like if I don't have an interactive 5 layer card then I should not give it. Far too much scoffing at one layer cards!!
HAHA, just say no to 5 layer cards! That just hurts my brain.
Are distress ink pads or distress oxide pads better for watercolor?
have you looked at the shakyness on normal speed? I think the 500% or so you sped that up magnifies the shakyness. my desk also shakes when it's not completely pushed to the wall and or a table leg has come loose. nice cards by the way I made one layers all the times, even emptyer than yours and they are never boring
Thanks so much for this!! I'm just starting again (after 20 years!) and I basically have no supplies 💕
So glad that I just found your channel 🙂
😹😹 you're very entertaining!
YOUR CARD LOOKS FINE TO ME . ONLY YOU KNOW IF YOU MESSED UP IN THE STAMPING . THANKS FOR SHARING , HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY !
I don’t know what kind of table you’re using, but is it possible you just need to tighten the legs to help with the shaking?
I like the one layer as I can mail them without extra postage…. I’m still learning…
If your paper shifts, use the sticky mat that Jennifer McGuire uses in her Misty. She has a link to Amazon on her blog in her gift guide. This sticky mat is a game changer.
I have those! Sometimes I use them, sometimes I don't. Don't know why.
@@LaurelBeard you are so funny. I enjoy watching you!
Love to make one layer cards. Less expensive to mail and a challenge to make.
❤️❤️❤️
Hi, great video, I think you have a bit of a mistake about seven minutes and maybe at 7 1/2 you said if yellow and blue mixed together they make brown if I’m not mistaken they make green but purple and yellow would make brown just a thought everything else is fantastic thank you so much for all that you do
Never mind, it’s probably because the blue has a purplish tint or hue
I say yes to one layer cards. Not all the time, of course, but I have family overseas (in Germany, mostly) and one layer cards travel better and arrive pristine.
I don't know what to do with all of my 3D embossed papers! Please help! ;)
