Suggestion: you dont have to say belagina tindi , ratri oota and all it just confuses people . For daily usage we just use thindi(breakfast) and oota(lunch/ dinner). it will be understandable dependending on what time of the day you are asking.

I am Marathi. It is so delightful to see similarities between Kannada and our Marathi. Even non Sanskrit words are same like Ajja Ajji, nanthar etc. Other same words include Chaha, khurchi, chhatri, granthalaya, mej, pustak, kaagad, lekhani, prashn, shala, vidyarthi, guru, shishya, vishvavidyalay,

This is very useful since I have been living in Bangalore for 15 years now but can't speak kannada. I can however understand a little bit of kannada. One thing I have observed that in reality the spoken kannada is quite different than what you are teaching. For example, namaskara, shubhodaya, shubha dinavagali, shubhratri. I have never heard people use these so far. People always use a Hi, hello, good morning, good night, etc. This is just my observation.
