Not A lot of Love out there for El Camino's , I think they are growing on people , thanks to this
That factory Blue is beautiful! Something about El Camino's that put a smile on my face, maybe because I love Trucks and Chevelle's. Nice clean understated build. Great interview too, Chris is pretty sharp. Thank you Currie Garage for another great video
Beautiful SS!!! Will never go out of style, good job on it!🔥
Truck on the Title that's how I used mine for the last 40 years!
Had a lot of fun with this one, thanks again Chris, great car!
What a cool El Camino!!! Totally dig that it has a big block in it! As was mentioned in the episode, a big block just has a personality that is hard to duplicate with the LS swaps. And this bad boy has plenty of power to lay it down!! Great episode and love that Chris has held onto this ride for 20 years!!👍👍
Exactly mate.
Very nice build...I met Chris when he and I had 01 Mustang Bullitt GT's...His was the rare true blue and I had the more common dark highland green...Cool guy and knows his stuff.....
Awesome job Plump ....Looking Great !
Badass Elcamino 💙🤍💙🤍
I own a '68 Elky in Sequoia Green (very few in that factory color) with the factory buckets + "stirrup" shifter. I researched finding an era-correct 396 big block for it. Instead of a $10K+ project, I opted to pull its crappy late-70's 305, re-use some of the parts and install a 1966 327 (era correct). In my mid-60's now, I have other priorities, and that .30-over 327 is definitely no slouch. And my profit margin will be more when this old guy sells it. But Plump's rat motor '71 is nothing short of "Beauty & BEAST"!
The Elcamino is a great looking Ute brother.
No doubt
Awesome build and video!
Thank you! Cheers!
Loooove this Blue Elky!
Just simply awesome.
Cold blooded!!!!!!
Gotta love em!
I'm A Chevy guy But I spent a lot of time pitting for my friend working on his nasty Mustang! Hu Hu
Best car in NFS Run.
What long tube headers did he go with? They look like they're tucked up really nice.
Very nice !
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice
Camino's are in the muscle car class, own 5
Call them what you want but I loved my 1966 Elco big block.
Its clean and looks nice we call them T rars
What All was used to lower it n give it that stance ? I have a 69 396 n want it stanced like that
nice
Awesome review! 👌 How's the leg room on the el caminos?
Same as any other GM “A” Body of the era.
Great job on the car and yes black is boring and always looks dirty, here in Australia a truck is a Mack or a Kenworth you have a car.
It is a car 🚗
I love those wheels where do I buy them
In the front it's a car in the back it's a truck in the fronts we're you drive in the backs we're you fuck. I love my 83 elcamino
What LS is a small block?
As far as I know, all modern LS engines are small blocks. Back in the 70’s Chevy did differentiate the mid HP 454 and high HP 454 by labeling them LS5 (375 HP) and LS6 (450 HP). Those where big blocks. But those engines have nothing to do with the modern LS engines you see today. All are Small blocks now.
it is a ute !
i would say its a ute because its a unibody based on a car so in my opinon its a ute
It’s a reinforced, boxed, full frame shared with the Chevelle station wagon, 4” longer wheelbase than 2 door sedan.
Love El caminos. My dad had a 71. But, too much talk in the video not enough car
It's a car............
It's called a cruck
What about a tar?
that thing is bad as fuck!
Legally, it is a truck. If you take any station wagon & remove the rear part, you must register it as a truck. I know someone who did this.
Mines Beautiful but needs a new owner. Just can't move around like I used to in my younger age.
Burning tires have consequences
You can burn your tires bald.
I know it. Done it did it.
True but that's half the fun, cause now you get to buy some freshies!
Id take that over the chevelle any day
It's a caruck, silly.
