That Mac26M in the background at 4:40 is long gone.

Great video..... I have a Hunter 26 and never lowered/raised the mast. I now realize we don't have the two side stabilizing poles and the other pole you put in to hook the line through the block in the anchor locker.

Slow day here so I watched it at .25 playback speed to cancel out the elapsed time. still efficient setup thanks for sharing

Great video. That is the boat I plan to buy when I retire. If I have questions I know who to ask :)

The 23.5 is much the same process and usually takes 45 minutes to an hour, faster if you have help.

What was the total elapsed time for the job? Once in the water do you dock it? Or go through the process to bring it down every time? Looking at a Hunter for sale and looking for other opinions

    I enjoyed that.

hi andrew, do you connect the side stays before raising the mast? after connecting the front stay? i have the same boat! also, does your auto pilot work well on this boat? can it handle the large loads the rudder takes on? thanks brett

brett harman Yes I connect the side stays before stepping the mast. Auto pilot is the best investment I ever did on this boat, works well in any conditions

would it be possible to send me pics of how "A" frames are mounted to the deck and the pivoting position in relation to the pivot of the mast step? i can fabricate pretty good.
I have an Oday 26 that I just got and never had anything this big so the heavy mast is a concern..plus im 71 yrs old.

Hi Andrew. Great video. Been really helpful in understanding the raising of this model. I just purchased the same boat and will be raising the mast soon. I know it's been a while since you posted this video but, question for you, Hunter instructions say to use the jib halyard to raise the mast. Is that what you used? Unsure since you have a roller furling headsail, as does mine. My boat actually has a white cable that is attached to the very top of the mast (aft) that is use for mast raising. Not sure what this line is used for after raising? I'll have to figure this out. Thx!

Hi John, I’m really enjoying the boat, best trailerable boat ever made. To rise the mast you should use the spinnaker line, on my boat it’s the red line. Don’t use the white cable, that’s for the end boom hold

@@audriuskanape Thanks for the response. That makes sense. Glad to hear you're happy with the model. I'm looking forward to it!
