Because all 3 gauges were changed. Happened to me as well, you must install the gauges without the glass, put ignition on and then install the needle for oil pressure.
I'll be getting a 560sec very soon.. first mod will be a supercharger (procharger), water & meth injection, msd ignition boost control for detonation and pre ignition, cooling fans, straight pipes with resonators, custom aluminum intake, brackets.. I'm a welder and a fabricator. budgeting $3,000 for the whole set up.. no problem!!! I found a low mileage 1990 560sec and have to get the scratch together for the rest but it's coming. Hoping to get a modest 400 rear wheel horsepower what about the same in torque. CAN'T WAIT!!!

Marko BiH The Euro spec 560 with the M117.968 with the quad exhaust in which was the most powerful one with 300esh hp is even closely comparable to this one, this is an M117 bored out to 6.0 L displacement with dual cam heads and AMG tuning that put out +370hp, you can say that newer post 1990 M119 engines with both 4.0L and 5.0L variants were inspired from this engine.
It has an aftermarket “AMG” speedometer backing plate. This gives an inflated speed indication. This car is NOT an AMG. Comparing it with the acceleration footage from my 560SEC, I cover more distance, (looking at the trip meter) in the same time yet at a lower speed............? I am getting tired of people claiming to have an AMG while they do NOT have one. They are fooling themself and try to fool others. It is pathetic. The 560 is awesome as it is. The SEC of course more so than an SEL:-)
The Mercedes Benz W126 560 SEL is just a timeless masterpiece of engineering. I've never saw a car which comes close to this S-Class.
