    I can't believe they only gave 6 years for destroying a person's life, but yet if you smoke pot they want to throw you in prison for life. The Korean justice system is so effed up. I wanted to live in korea, but this makes me not want to. I fear for my safety as a woman.

      Sadly, if he’s rich or well-off, his family gains the upper hand period. Even if he assaults a foreigner, his family will fight in court until his pathetic 'life' gets released and he can walk the earth again. They'll present money as bribery and if that doesn't work, then they'll use money to hide the evidence and make the situation worse. Korean government system supports only those with money. Unless the evidence is so shocking that it has to be God level.

    I'm stuck on the fact that 5 years was what was going to go for it and then its being moved to 8 but they only got 6. Is she recovering in 6 years?!, Is that family going to get their daughter back as she was when she left on that trip?. He should spend his life behind bars for what he did. I won't fault his family for his actions because some people can be utter trash although they had wonderful parents and family. They become monsters when they leave their homes, this may be such a case so who knows. He, solely is a monster and should be kept away from the public because what he did here is just as bad as murder.

    Originally the sentence was 5 years, moved up to 8 years. It never matters what they do, they always get the lightest possible sentence. Even the guy who raped the 8 year old girl only got 12 years and he is out now.
