I can't thank you enough for explaining my life for the past 5 years. You did a wonderful job putting into perspective how debilitation builds. I am seeing a little light outside the tunnel of my bed-if it were not for my dog-I would have no reason to leave my bed. Please except my virtual hug-I can't tell you how much I needed to hear that "this to shall pass". May God bless & guide us all 🙏✌️🌎💞

Yes. I have recurrent major depression. I try to use distraction and love. I try to "let time pass" and not expect drastic healing. "This too shall pass" is very helpful as well. Loving my animals has brought me the most joy and fulfillment.😏🤗

You covered the topic very well. It’s such a deep and many- layered anomaly that half you can explain and the other half you must experience to really understand it. I too, have suffered with depression all my life. My mother was a very sad and depressed person and unfortunately, it seems to run deep in our family. The best explanation I ever heard was that it is like a big wave coming at you and the best thing you can do is just let it wash over you….you come out of it quicker than if you fight it. Recognize it, ride it out but don’t feed it.
Of course baby made a huge difference in your life. They are truly Gods angels right here on earth. Where else are you going to get such pure, unconditional love?? Like you said, they give a purpose to our lives and a reason to get up and go on when it gets rough.
You have a following of people who truly care about you and you most definitely make a difference in our lives. Thank you for all you do my friend.
    💖👍👍🐶🐶🇨🇦🇺🇸🙏🙏

I lost my oldest son ten years ago. One thing I found is that you just have to go with the flow. Allow yourself to feel bad. Then after awhile I just screamed out to my son ( when I was alone) “ Get out of my head”. It was time for me to start living again. And then my son sent me a sign to start moving forward. Of course it helped that I had family that was supportive. My sister had lost her adult son 8 years before. So it bonded us even more. I also joined the Compassionate Friends group. It was other parents who lost their children. It helps to be able to share with others. And some people are stronger than others. So I guess talking to us is also a form of therapy. We all have things to deal with.

Great to hear your experience and know there are supportive people. Sometimes physical pain makes me depressed although not so bad lately but other human beings behaviour is tough to deal with! Also what went on in the world the last few years really gave me some ups and downs. But animals are wonderful I just spend as much time as possible with them.

Good heavens where do I start. I've struggled with depression for most of my life. I have taken medication for many years. Started after I had my one and only child who I had desperately wanted. I couldn't believe how I felt so hopeless even after having my precious daughter. Antidepressants helped immensely. My bouts come and go. ~~ I recently retired and was feeling wonderful, and I started having neck, shoulder and arm pain. I have been dealing with doctors and tests for almost 2 years. Finally having surgery in October for a herniated disc. ~~ During this time, I too watched down to earth CZcamsrs, who give me a sense of normal perseverance in a simple setting. ~~ How did you help? I watched you and Baby and the puppies and fell in love with them. The desire to hug them was too intense. My new Shih Tzu (solid black) puppy (Emily) has now been with me 4 months and gives me the reason to get up every morning and fight the pain to give her a good life. We have an older chihuahua and Emily was a spur of the moment decision, and she is my reason to fight.

Depression is really debilitating and sometimes tragic caused by various unforrunate circumstances and chemical imbalance in the brain so being aware is an important factor to battle this as well as motivation, and it depends largely on the person itself to be willing to be relieved from this state; those who know too well about this or those have experienced the condition should be able to help others going through the same and pull them out of it...you're on the right track sharing and I'm glad you have some ray of sunshine on you, you may want to add banana and oats to your diet too 😉
