Kashiwagi starting up Judgement - Shinpan - for Kiryu and him just *knowing* what he needs to do is amazing.
Kashiwagi didn't put it on for him but I wish that's how it was.

Hearing Kiryu sing “Judgement” by himself is both wholesome and a bit heartbreaking. The man has lived a long yet painful life, losing and gaining friends along the way.
At least Kashiwagi is still around 😢

So quietly but powerfully emotionally. This whole scene had me choked up, and then got me ecstatic when Judgement kicked in. What a fucking payoff for longtime fans.
I'm glad someone share the same thought with me! The moment Kiryu bows to Kashiwagi, I knew instantly that deep down, he's sorry for all those years ago and at the same time he's happy to see him alive.
Really makes you wonder if Kashiwagi ever got word of Kiryu carrying on the whole yakuza rehabilitation deal he had going on in Yakuza 3
I rather thought it was because Kiryu was showing his respect like he would to a superior. Though Kashiwagi was never his own wakagashira, Kiryu always respected him like one. I thought he was just doing his yakuza manners.

In the original Japanese dub he simply says "Excuse me" when Kashiwagi offers a seat. Kiryu's being polite to his superiors as always.

Few people have ever truly decked Kiryu. I remember Kashiwagi straight up haymaker-ing Kiryu into a wall in 0. Kashiwagi might be the only character to have actually knocked Kiryu off his feet with a single punch
I mean other characters have def knocked over Kiryu. The thing is Kashiwagi did that and SURVIVED. Or at least left unscatched

I love how genuinely hurt you can see Kiryu is when others were not (in his opinion) giving him the attention he deserves during "Baka Mitai".
You can just feel how stung his heart is after pouring his soul out to his friends who were not listening to a song that has a lot of meaning to him.

At first I didn't notice in Y7 but once Kiryu gave that look I noticed the scar and put 2 and 2 together 🤣🤣
That's funny because once I saw him it didn't even pop into my head but a little bit later I was like "I recognize that scar."
I mean, it was kinda obvious in Y7. After all, he said something in one of sub stories:

Gonna be honest, before this, I only played Yakuza Like a Dragon, and Like A Dragon: Ishin, so I never knew who the bartender truly was and how Kiryu knew him. After playing Yakuza 0 however, I can now see why.
the ending lacked a few things tbh. spoilers below
should have concluded more with majima, saejima and daigo, and done something with haruka and haruto
It feels like its all building up to something. Where were the 2 yakuza from gaiden that were pulled into daidoji? Date said something about Akiyama being "back" at the very end of the reunion scenes. Ei-chan and ebina's stories aren't likely over either. Akane and Ichibans story can't end like this either. And what will become of Lani? Lots of questions

Kashiwagi's death never made any sense to me. Especially how he died. Minigunning someone in the middle of major metropolis with a helicopter? Fucking hell. That is an act of war.
It will probably take a few more decades to properly clean up Yakuza 3's fucking mess.

This was just delayed. Kiryu already was at Survive in Gaiden when he met with Tsuruno, he was lucky Kashiwagi wasn't there.

Joryu wears sun glasses and have dark hair, Taichi Suzuki on the other hand has gray hair and no glasses, and always wears only pants from the suit

A dragon of Dojima, Suzuki all game is mistaken for Kiryu just like Joryu was (And notice both games had Like a Dragon in their titles) story is how Kiryu after his Death became sort of a title and Suzuki sees that They all Need Kiryu do he decided to take the title.
That's my theory at least.

I can already see kashiwagi shredding the electric keyboard like in 0, kiryu story is truly the most beautiful and saddest ive ever seen in a game and i loved following every bit of it from being a low level Yakuza to father to taxi driver to grandparent to agent to meeting new friends im extremely grateful ive gotten to experience these games i just wish i could do it for the first time a second time god damn i love these games
