I've always been so close to them, so I asked him why (he's a preacher) so it shouldn't have surprised me when he said, ~I know without a doubt, I get to spend eternity with her. Our lives are just a flash and we will be together soon.~ Six years later, he still puts out flowers a few times a week at her grave and he hasn't had any interest in dating. When you were telling the story and you mentioned that Oba’s father hung himself and he then jumped onto the casket, I could totally relate to that. My dad shot himself in the head one month after I turned 18, and we had a private family viewing, during that viewing I apparently started to scream and flip out while crying and I started to climb into the casket with my dad. It took three grown men to pull me out. I lost it. Before he killed himself, I had a life plan, I had a bright future. Then, due to the trauma of the event, and the fact that our house had a room covered in blood and skull and brain matter, I completely went off track. I didn’t start committing major crimes, but I started taking prescriptions meds incorrectly and drinking, and making poor choices. Having that type of trauma as a child, can absolutely damage you. I am now 37, and I am doing significantly better, but it took me nearly 15 yrs to get myself on the right track. I feel for anyone that goes through that. Granted, we are still responsible for our own decisions, but it changes you.

Usually when I have those gut feelings they happen when I'm alone. 20+ years ago it happened to me with my best friend at the fair. We were in line to go on the Fireball, a circular roller coaster, which I was completely excited for. We got the first car on the ride, which is either best or worst depending on who you talk to. We got clicked in and my Spidey sense went WILD like full on anxiety attack and I told my bff we had to get off immediately. She'd never seen me so terrified but the ride guy has seen probably hundreds of people do the same, so he let us off. The wheel that would have been in front of ME snapped off halfway thru the ride. Idk if anyone got hurt but they had left our car empty when they did it.

Just thinking about them being tossed into the ocean tied to a brick makes me feel like I can’t breathe. I can’t even imagine. As far as Hal not crying at the funeral, everyone grieves differently. I just lost my mother to cancer on March 28th, she and I were extremely close, she raised me on her own, I never had a father figure in my life and I’m an only child so it was just me and her. When she got real sick towards the end I took care of her all day every day. When she first passed I cried so hard I couldn’t breathe but after that I went numb, I was mad, sad, hurt, heartbroken, empty, I didn’t even know how to feel, I was just simply numb, so numb that I barely cried for the first week, plus I have kids that loved their Nana so much, they were her pride and joys so I had to look after them, I couldn’t lose myself, I had to keep it together. After the numbness wore off and reality sank in that I was never gonna see my momma again, I started crying again and I have a breakdown at least once a day where I cry uncontrollably and feel like I can’t breathe. The stages of grief vary for everybody and we all go through the stages in different orders. He lost everything he had so I’d say he was probably in shock.

At my last job my boss had a close friend(I had been to their home) who decided to take the perfect family vacation. They had a 18year old daughter who was going to college in the fall, and a son 17 years, so Charlie and his wife really wanted to do this. They went to Costa Rica and were having the vacation of a lifetime. Towards the end they were out swimming in the ocean and his wife was caught in a riptide. He went to help her a was caught up even worse and he was thrown against rocks. He broke his leg and hip. I took almost 4 weeks to get him back to the US(air ambulance was 40,000, yes thousand). He had to have multiple surgeries and he developed an infection, they could never treat fully. He died 14 months later from sepsis. It was something so wonderful that became a nightmare. It made me really angry at god for a long time. Sry the story got so long
