May be worth a pickup when it inevitably goes on sale for $20-30 like the rest of Super7’s Ultimates have been lately. At $55 I judge these much more harshly.

That’s gonna probably come to an end REAL soon. Retailers aren’t buying these really anymore as the chickens have come to roost on these.
Super 7 has tanked their own market and essentially lost most of their investors.
I have this figure coming soon and I do appreciate your honest review. It's not scathing like some I've watched. It highlights everything a potential buyer needs to know and looking at the pre order photos is exactly what we are getting. No big surprises. That stork version is truly art and made me smile to see him posed up! 😁👍

I get what you are saying about the $55 price point, but this figure is def a step up from a $25 price point. Look at what what Mattel and Hasbro are calling deluxe figures now and charging $35, just because it has 2 more accessories. This particular figure has soft goods and tons of accessories so you are almost getting 2 figures.

They really try to overcompensate with the lack of articulation by throwing too many accessories, some of which are either uninspired or not what we wanted

I guess these are throwbacks to 90s happy meal toys by the quality. Super7 really loves nostalgia and overpriced toys.
Why is everything so shiny
I bought two just to have both characters. It doesn’t help that this is also my most beloved Disney movie from when I was a kid! Now just waiting on Super7 to get their shipment in and send them out.

I am in agreement with you that the stork version looks better than the base figure. It's on-model, the paint on the head is pretty nice, and it's expressive. It's just so unstable though that I can't put it on a shelf and trust it. Plus, what I really wanted was just a nice looking Robin Hood, and I think the base figure misses the mark. That head is pretty off-model: the shape, the size of the eyes, nose, muzzle. It looks like they tried to "cute" him up or were working off some bad licensing art. I hate the articulation below the waist too and the fur really needs some paint to try and emulate the rough appearance of the animation, as that's a big part of the character's look. I think they were too concerned with making a "transforming" action figure that they didn't stop and think about the best way to make it truly functional. There should be no articulation on the ankles of the stork costume because they are frustrating to deal with, or they should have done a rocker at the bottom of the stilt. And just an unarticulated, frozen, spare torso would have been a much better use of the budget than some of the extra hands included. I am just all together frustrated with this one.
I feel like they didn't think everything through with this figure; and I also feel like the figure suffers from not being as accurate as it could be. At least sculpt-wise. I don't know, I want to jump for joy that we got a Robin Hood figure finally, but the toy itself leaves me feeling pretty meh.

A lot of today's action figures to me are like puzzles beginners, intermediate, expert. I keep trying to find that perfect pose for my figures, I can't stand them standing in a vanilla pose.
Yes! No vanilla posing!! Man, that’s why we like articulation otherwise we would get statues. Lol
I have no idea how you managed to get that bow in his hand! Haha. I tried so hard but not even a chance of it happening. I still prefer Prince John over Robin after having them on the shelf together. You were much nicer in this review than I was. 😂
I think you might have used the wrong hand after watching this video. The thumbs up hand seems to have a tighter grip to fit the bow. I’m not sure but I think you used the other item holding hand which has a looser grip. Though I could be misremembering.
@@jarosbodytko6462 I did both. At least off camera I tried the tight hand with the thumb up. Way too tight on mine to fit. It’s the logical hand shape but no way and I tried to force it
@@NostalgiaUnboxed ah ok. Maybe try heating it up with a hairdryer to soften the plastic a bit. That usually helps when grip hands are too tight
In spite of the flack this figure's getting, I got mine arriving this next week and I'm looking forward to it. The articulation being a step up from S7's typical has me excited.
I'll rig up something to get the stork on display with Robin, but I do wish maybe they axed one set of hands for the stork and gave Robin one more head or set of hands to balance things out
I really like the shininess of the raw plastic, especially since it mimics the cartoon cel paint. I really hate when cartoon character figures have that overpainted matte chalky look.

@@RicksANERD I own over 500 cartoon cels and every last one of them are shiny to some degree. EVERY one of them. In fact, most every cartoon you've ever watched before the digital era is made up of a bunch of moving plastic images. Cels are mostly liquid plastic painted onto plastic. It's a culture of opaque shiny imagery.
@Trenton Hancock Okay, well these are not based on your cels, or the plastic covering your reproduction of cels. These are based on the animation of the movies. Which aren't shiny. Goof.

Oh man where to begin? The sculpt of the tail is all wrong, the eyes and muzzle are too big. They didn't even paint the neck area accurately not to mention his body color. And once again the unpainted shiny cheap plastic looks like crap. This was a rush job.
The plastic on this figure is that shiny cheap feeling plastic. The tail is hollow. The stork accessories lack the torso which is the main component needed. The stilts are extremely hard to pose and will not be able to stand without tipping over constantly. I usually don’t complain about price, but this wave is really overpriced. The quality of Super7 product has never been the best but they’re really going in the wrong direction.
Well, about the tail, it’s probably best it’s hollow or good old Robin wouldn’t be able to stand. All the other criticism I can definitely agree with.
