I still cant belive not a single cursed spirit popped up since the sendai colony.
Cursed spirits established weaknesses were too much for them to be reasonably strong against the current cast and the story has focused on the heavy hitters giving them even less of a chance. Keep in mind that the disaster curses were supposed to be top of the verse - so they started strong.
They probably just disintegrated at the presence of Curse user Curse energy. Kind of like Aizen letting loose his reitsu and people collapsing lol
Bro what other opportunity would a cursed spirit have to show up. It’d probably just die instantly making its inclusion look worthless

Haven't watched yet, but Kenjaku not dying because to Geto resisting him for long enough is a huge missed opportunity. Geto had respect for Yuta and it would give him one last great moment while also explaining a little more how Kenjaku lost

@@gabrielsalahi3656 which isn't a good explanation. Look at each factor in Sukuna's final showdown or his fight with Gojo alone. Having more factors at play, especially the ability for Kenjaku's host to resist him, would still be great

Kenjaku had literally one of his toughest battles yet, and specifically wished for no one to intervene (aka he himself made Yuta undetectable, that’s why Yuta got so close without him noticing) in his battle because he was having so much fun with it
I know it’s hard to think of Kenjaku as having just fought an epic battle against Loony Toons man but that’s what it was. Kenjaku fought two of the strongest people in the series back to back and this is also ignoring that he just fought a few dozen other Sorcerers in the culling games
Kenjaku VS a few dozen grade 1s and 2 of the strongest Special Grades
The outcome makes perfect sense to me
Alright I have a little theory feel free to ignore (good vid btw)
I have a theory that cursed techniques are not actually ‘real’.
In my hc cursed energy came first, then barrier techniques then finally cts.
Cursed technique are actually the result of hundreds to thousands of binding vows placed on the user, their cursed energy, and their output.
My example is the construction technique. Say that thousands of years ago a sorcerer had low output but high cursed energy. They realized they could channel ce into a medium like a blade to strengthen it.
A few generations later someone took that idea and thought that it would be stronger to simply have a weapon made up of only cursed energy. So through a binding vow they sacrificed a large amount of ce to create matter.
It was then refined over generations through other binding vows passed down in one family. Maybe one person restricted the amount of matter possible to make, therefore making it easier to create smaller things. This goes on and on until it is so complex that no one else could ever use it unless they inherited the binding vows at birth.
But since it took so many generations to create no one realized how it was actually created. So the only way you could use it was if it was inherited by you.
Newer style techniques are like mutations of old ones, like Sukuna said the way a technique manifests relies on the user. Nanako’s ct could have been using imagery as a medium to manipulate the subject. This could have started out as someone memorizing a scene and manipulating it. This was weak so eventually it became manipulating a sketch or painting. Then eventually it reached the present where it became manipulating photos.

extremely interesting head canon you definitely cooked. unfortunately i doubt there’s ever going to be an explanation on where techniques started. gege might just be making the manga in a way that’ll give the studio the blueprints so the anime looks good when it’s animated or they just never were big on worldbuilding.. i love the current world of jjk that’s been made but i would definitely prefer to know more 😂
I like this theory a lot, though this doesn't really explain how some socerers from non-socerer bloodlines are born with their techniques. People like Nobara and Todo come to mind. Even Sukuna himself. How are people supposed to inherit the binding vows, if they were possibly not passed down in the family in any way? Maybe this can be explained with a sorcerer's brain being a pre requisite for the technique to manifest and that ALL techniques are passed down, just that some people are not able to manifest it. Please don't mind my rambling, though I would appreciate any thoughts regarding this.
For me, i was expecting a sukuna flashback arc like with teen gojo during the courtroom domain section with 4 arm sukuna being charged for his crimes. As more time goes on, i don't think we'll ever get a hien era flashback arc. I really wanted Gege to give us the full context of Sukuna before the final battle. We'll see what the future holds.
I will always argue the Culling Games should have been even longer with more exploration of colony’s maybe more cast in them
Maybe in a super meta sense, Yuji never asking questions about his mother or seemingly not caring despite knowing was foreshadowed back in chapter one where Yuji shuts his grandfather down after he says he wants to tell him about his parents.
Maybe it’s just never been something on yujis mind
Imagine an ancient Kamo clan member who uses blood manipulation to basically blood bend in the culling games.

Even though yes they are both in the Heian Era, that lasts about 400 years so they very well could’ve just not been born at the same time.

Honestly the fact that we've NEVER gotten to see the full 10 Shadows technique or even just Megumi's taming process for any of the ones he had baffles me considering it's bar none the coolest and thematically/power system fitting technique in the series

The "We should've seen the first people to use Cursed Energy" thing being somehow so high seems absurd to me.
There's countless of stories where the Power System doesn't have "the first people to do this". Who's the first people to discover Chakra or Ki?
Mimiko and Nanako deserves to be higher than that, and their only purpose is to be a Foil to Megumi! It's anyways explains where Cursed Energy comes from!

Tbh I would have liked to see more foreign sorcerer's due to the fact that cursed evergy is still found outside of japan even though not as abundant due to tengen. Even if so I would have liked to see if things like local forlklore and religous myths in other countries just be reveal to actually be extreamly powerful sorcerers and cursed spirits back in the day like how in japan the big three vengeful spirits but with other famous stories around the world.

I don’t think Mimiko and Nanako would've gone to the school. Geto had nothing against sorcerers or the school specifically, but he didn’t want sorcerers fighting curses for normals, and that is what the school teaches and does.
While i don't think this is the biggest thing evwr but an explanation why andnhiw heavenly restriction occur would be amazing

Yuki does mention todo, when she appears on the battlefield season 2 and in her voice over at the end of the episode. However it would have been great to see them interact
Imo i wouldve liked to see more of the death paintings (i know yuji ate brothers 5-9 but hear me out) imagine a battle of all the remaining death paintings against kenjaku wouldve been an amazing fight and would show how strong yuji could become and show just how close all the brothers are (and it would showhow much choso grew from being the one giving orders to his brothers like an absolute leader to him and his brothers all working together as a colletctive instead of just doing what he says.) Also i wouldve loved to see how the other death paintings wouldve looked like if they were given bodies like choso eso and kechizu.

I still think Kenjaku might come back and I aint saying why as I dont want to spoil the last 2 chapters of JJK for people who havent read it yet
I think that Yuta will lose control over Gojo's body after the 5 minute mark and Kenjaku will return in Gojo's body and show his true plan by wanting to take Meguna's body to complete the merger and having enough power to make sure noone can stop him
Watch Yuta say "no... he's back, he's fighting..." then slump over and when Yuji goes to help him 'Gojo' grins and says "such a good boy, Yuji. Give Mommy a hug".

I feel like some see the open endedness of the story as a weakness when I in fact see it as a strength. The fact that Gege's story can reasonably go in so many different possible directions and it has kept people speculating and coming up with shit for 260+ chapters is actually pretty amazing.
The only thing that gets annoying about it is the butthurt fanboys who one week are selling a character like their life depends on it, and the next week crying about how Gege has "pulled one over" on them or some shit. No, you were just celebrating before the fight was even over! Or in some cases even started!
I think a lot of these missed opportunities were done on purpose to keep the setues short. Cursed energy origins would be a major issue, since it may just be seen as universal in cultures across the globe, and would have bigger issues for explaining how Japan has a monopoly, since plenty of cultures would have a Tengen or Tengen like entity(ies). I personally would love that, but dont think it is meant for the pace of the series that Gege envisioned. I'm more curious about how some techniques seem to be influenced by ither cultures like Angel for example and how it came to be in her/family's hands. Things like Hawaiian Night Marchers could have major issues for barrier techniques in a way similar to Maki/Toji just casually being able to ignore domain barrier conditions, and similar to Gojo relating to Hanami as similar to a nature spirit, answering or going deeper into that would just make the series too long. I would love it, but I get the vibe that Gege didn’t want to do too much outside of Japan with nods to Africa's existence (especially with Miguel putting Gojo in his place about stereotyping). Either way, between Shaman King, Hunter and JJK, I definitely get my fill of culture from a Mangala's perspective and am here for whatever these authors bring to the table. Seriously love seeing writers and artists respect and go back to the roots of culture.

Gege is just terrible with side character interactions ugh. He did an amazing job with hidden inventory with so little chapters, Nanamin Haibara and Shoko having a presence as well as Yaga Uta and Mei. But aside from that he struggles to want to build his other characters so he gets rid of them lol when he doesnt want to do something he doesnt do it. Reading the Fanbook, you get a clear idea what kind of person Gege is in his writing.
what exactly is your definition of charcater interactions? and what on earth did he do differently with it in hidden inventory as opposed to everywhere else. It just seemss to me that people think character interactions is two or more characters talking in a mundane setting as opposed to interacting in a fight.
Hidden inventory had more downtime simply because danger level then was not as high as the rest of the series and even then Nanami and haibara barely had scenes. We only got conversations surrounding Gojo , Geto , Riko and Toji and most of this was absolutely vital to the plot which gege does a lot in other arcs. So I fail to see why people like bringing it up as the peak of jjk's "character interactions"
