    Hi Andy, in your description of the air cylinder you stated that it should be filled to 250bar, however the close up view of the gauge indicates that the green zone ends at the Air Arms regular 190 bar, putting 250 bar well into the red zone.Scratch that - I looked at the AA manual for the S510TR and now understand that on the moving sector gauge the green sector will expand to 250 bar as the rifle is charged. Just a coincidence that the screen shot happened to be at around 190 bar. Nice rifle.

    I like the aesthetic, gauge and filler cover look like they were designed into the product, rather than an after thought.

    This looks good, shoots as you would expect from an S510. many wouldn't spend the money on replacing their existing AA to buy the same performance, but if like FX you could custom your rifle then it would be a more attractive proposition.
    I've considered upgrading several times but cannot justify the cost for little improvement from old reliables

    Love at first sight. Although I'm worried ( no I'm not, I'm certain) it will not be allowed in Holland. We have no power restrictions here; you can shoot 1200 FTlb without FAC as long as it looks like an airgun. But too strong resemblance with a fire arm makes it illegal. (yes, also the plastic pellet shooting airsoft replica's..)
    Maybe there's hope: there's not too much difference in appearance between this gun and a tactical FX Airgun. I'ld choose air arms over FX any day of the week.

    • @user-cn8vb9hh5z
      @user-cn8vb9hh5z Před 2 lety +1

      @Callum because Air Arms have not made a break barrel since the Pro-Elite and there's no British made break barrel to compete with the various HWs that continue to sell well. Once you have a TX200 and a Pro-Sport there's nothing left to buy for the springer enthusiast.

    Great vid as always Andy!
    Marketing mastery from Air Arms. Stick a new set of clothes on an already excellent rifle, and lo and behold..... New market!
    I am a walnut and steel (Daystate) traditionalist, ( Huntsman Classic and Huntsman Regal) but this year I succumbed to the 'Dark Side'!
    I now own an FX Wildcat Compact MkIII.
    It has advantages over my 'Traditional' guns. It's super short; easy to carry all day; pretty much weatherproof, and is just as accurate as my Daystate Rifles. I can change the calibre if I want, and I can alter the power in an instant. It has a huge magazine capacity which seldom needs refilling on a typical vermin shoot, and I can fit my own choice of moderator.
    I really don't see so many boxes getting ticked by the significantly more expensive S510Tr?

Also, make the manometer A grey/black colour scheme with some lowlight refective elements.

There is something to say about spending a large sum of money for military speck parts that really are not that costly to use. I think the rifle is super cool and well made. I like the safety and sturdy build. Imagine what the rifle would look like with a wood Beavertail forend and wood buttstock and hand grip with laminated and stable wood. Great review as usual, Andy. Always a pleasure. Have to admit that I actually hate that gun, looks like a complete dog's breakfast to me. Air Arms chasing fashion rather than sticking to their in-house aesthetic, makes me a little bit sad.

      With this rifle you can take the whole chassis of and put on a s 510 , I think is one or 2 screws really easy to swap over

    • @davidpaylor5666
      @davidpaylor5666 Před 2 lety

       @cam decorations I would expect so, it's just an action with some strap-on quasi-military gubbins added. I'd happily buy an S510, either a walnut sporter or the regulated TDR would make me a very happy man, but this? Nah. It's not what AA do best. They make the most beautiful springer on the market (the ProSport), arguably one of the best field springers (the TX200) and some very fine wooden stocked PCPs, they don't need to do fashion accessories. But this is just personal opinion, I see from the comments that you actually own one and are totally happy with it so all power to your elbow.

    Not particularly a fan of the military stylee, but a great looking Airgun non-the-less. I think I’d prefer this over the AGT vixen which looks a bit stubby and bulky. Great review though.

    Excellent review, Andy. Just realised that I'd really like to know what pellets you're using when you take the gun out on the range. This isn't a reflection on the quality of your reviews so much as an indicator of how pedantic (I avoided using the 'a' word) I am.
    Great stuff. 👍
