  • Join me as I create some live MIDI art from scratch and explain every step of my process (from composition to performance). I got a ton of requests for this, so I'm really happy to answer your questions in this video!
For this tutorial I picked the Apple logo, which is easily recognizable yet simple enough for me to attempt in one session.
I've been making live MIDI art for a couple of months now, and the response has been incredible (thanks so much)! The videos have received millions of views on Instagram and TikTok, which I honestly still can't process.
If you enjoy this, please consider supporting me on Patreon:
    / glasys
As a member, you'll get to download all my MIDI art files as well as most of my recordings from the past year.
If you'd like to see a playlist of my live MIDI art, click here:

I think visual art made from music belongs in a museum where you can press a button and it lights up the canvas and our ears simultaneously. Very cool stuff. Such a cool fusion of mediums.

Thank you GLASYS for revealing your creative process! I would have thought it works quite the opposite way and finding the appropriate scale including note lenght is the step after having a high-resolution stencil of the required intervals containing equal incrementals (like a quadratic pixel grid) over the full keyboard which is shrinked in the next step! But there is no downscaling in your process; you figure out the parts of the image while playing live using a predefined scale - even more impressive! As revealed secret we now know in addition E-flat major is the Apple scale. I'm guess there is more mystery behind which belongs to the initiated ones for now ... All the best :-)!
