    For me, one to two ribbons does the job. Three if the Apocrypha is included between the Testaments. One for the OT, one for the Apocrypha, and one for the NT.

    Stacked ribbons should never be allowed. This is a not an option. As a rebinder, our standard length is 5” from the edge of the cover, always a 10mm double sided satin ribbon, angle cut and sealed.
    We need more of these collaboration videos. Great stuff here everyone.

    Takeaways: "WIDE" NOT "THICK;" PLEASE STOP THE MADNESS!
    Nickels is actually right (this time).
    Frisch's sarcasm aimed at Crossway is well-earned and could have been more lethally applied.
    Cat does well to call out Cambridge.
    RGJ -- DAT BEARD THO. Pythagorean!
    Beau--CROSSWAY ARE YOU LISTENING? Also a wee bit of ESV flexing there at the end, no? 😆
    Mirror Image Randy--Nice to see your face, Brother! A rare treat. Speaking truth.
    Tim W. -- Nice video dude!
    But again, Nickels and Randy are right. 3/8" WIDTH NOT THICKNESS double sided satin or nothing.

    I absolutely loved this!! Thank you all so much. I watch all you guys and enjoy your videos so much. Of course we all know that Tim Nickels has nailed the ribbon question. They MUST be - multi coloured, flowing, double-sided satin, 3 or 4 in number and at least 4 inches below the book block to even be able to call themselves Bible ribbons! No self-respecting Premium Bible would be without them. But if for some reason the publisher has let us down, well, we simply replace them! 🤣😂 Five stars for this video as always. Thanks again. 😍🙏

    This would really good timing, and I love the humor in it. This just seemed fun to make.
    I just bought some ribbon to add to some of my Bibles and commentaries (either "spine bookmark" method or glue in legit adding). I think my preference is below:
    -10mm
    -Double-sided satin (I don't have Beresford because I can't find an affordable supplier of them)
    -3 minimum with preferably 4 (I like marks in O.T., Prov. Ps., and N.T.)
    -Length just long enough to get to the corner with about 3/4" - 1" remaining to hold
    _OCD dictates the ribbons must all be the same length (prefer a slightly slanted cut over flat cut)
    -Different color ribbons, but matching a palette close to each other.
    To be fair, I haven't had a Bible with ribbons wider than 10mm, but that seems like the Goldilocks size for me.

    - Width from 1/4" to 3/8" double face;
    - Length from 5" to 7" longer than the overall height of the bible;
    - Sequential colors from darkest to lightest, type: black, dark gray, coffee brown, medium brown, beige...

    Ribbongate- awesome. Great fun review with some great people. Nice job Tim. I kind of agree with what seemed to be a common choice. 10mm ribbons, double sided silk. I don’t quite go for the really long ones like Tim Nickles, but agree with them being long enough to slide to the corner to open your Bible. As for colour, usually choose colours that compliment the cover and really need a minimum of two. More for thicker bibles. Thanks again for a fun review.

I have 4 premium Bibles, 2 Schuyler 1 Cambridge and 1 Humble Lamb, and I didn’t know I “needed” multiple wide ribbons until I thumbed through the Bible I used as a kid in Church. Great video! I noticed one important point left out about Bible ribbons, though: it can be a very different story for those who want or need to carry their Bibles in covers. The zippers can so easily catch and fray longer ribbons; I've done it and I've seen countless others fighting it also. I like buying those cheap little accessory ribbons that will tuck into the binding space so that cheaper Bibles can have as many as desired; I just cut off the ones I don't need or want. Never heard of most of these colleagues of yours...

      I had that problem with the KJV Center Column Reference Bible I got for my birthday last year. It had two ribbons- a brown ribbon and a gold ribbon. This is a big thing for me too. Funny I was just contemplating cutting my ESVNC1 ribbons down. I love 2 in anything under 1.5 inch and 3 and only 3 anything above 1.5 inch thick bible. And as far as length. What I do is I take the middle ribbon on a 3 ribbon bible and place it in the center(ish) of the bible. Then I pull it to the outside corner and then select the length from there I desire. Usually about 2.5 to 3 inches from the corner, mark it then pull all three out the top and cut evenly at an angle. This usually gives me 4-5 inches of ribbon hanging out the bible when done (and that is a guess, I don't measure). Allan Ribbons are sooooooooo long and I get them get them caught on everything. They pretty, but in the way! lol As far as style goes.... whatever Schuyler and Allan have is good. I haven't had a premium from anyone else to compare. SORRY LONG COMMENT

But I do know ONE thing: it seems like you never have enough, and you wind up having to use a separate bookmark. And in that, CLOTH. No metal, no cardboard, something that poses the LEAST risk of ripping Bible paper.

    No ribbons is my preference. Controversial I know but I've no need for them and they annoy me. I put them down the spine or tuck them in at the front to get them out of the way!!

    I just received the CSB Verse by Verse premium black goatskin and I think they really dropped the ball on the ribbons. I have cheaper personal size bibles that have better ribbons in them. They also claim the font is 10 but feels more like a 9 or 9.5 . Sorry for the rant, this video just got me thinking about it. Great video though. I love watching everyone's channel in this video. God bless.

    What are the most common ways people use their Bible ribbons?

      I would assume it’s to keep their place while reading from different spots.

      @@timwildsmith Yeah, that’s my general assumption and that is how I use my ribbons. But I’ve never been reading in 4 or 5 different places consistently at once. (I do utilize 2 really well, one for my daily reading and one for where I’m teaching) - a third could be helpful when I’m teaching two books. But when I hear of 4 and 5 ribbons! - I’m just interested in what are peoples specific uses for constantly being in that many different parts of the Bible at the same exact time. :)
      thanks for replying to my question BTW

    I'd actually prefer ZERO ribbons LOL because I think they can ruin the top of the pages... but I also don't have the heart to cut them off... so all my Bibles still have ribbons on them...

    Are there any reviewers who dislike ribbons? I snip the ribbons off and I prefer bookmarks.

    I would clearly choose no ribbons. I don’t like them, don’t use them. No ribbons should be an option.
