SATURN V - The most powerfull machine ever built by man !
In 1969, launched Apollo 11 which was the first mission to land men on the moon...
This video shows how to 3d print and paint a 40'' (1 meter) tall Saturn V launch with flames controlled using WS2812b programmable pixels and an Arduino Nano.
It was printed during 1 week using a Creality Ender 3 and BQ Easy Go Pure White PLA.
The 3D model is a mesh of several models found on Thingiverse. I've gathered the best parts of each one and made my own modifications using Tinkercad.
The flames are made with 1 meter ws2812b leds (60 leds/m) cutted in 4.
Uses an Arduino Nano with a script to simulate fire flames, based on the code Danal Estes made for a Falcon Heavy model.

Great job!
This is so awesome I can't even put it into words! KUDOS! The Saturn V was our greatest rocket!
Thanks !!! Glad you like it !
Omg, you're incredible!!
Awesome!!! Congratulations!
Medidata thanks!!!! 👍
this is very cool, nicely done!
Thank you sir ! :)
Looks AWESOME!i am in the process of painting the black markings on my 1/144. The lighting on yours looks great. It’s too bad that it’s not a bit brighter. Sweeeeeeet!
I could hear the launch music from "Apollo 13" in my head :)
Yeah ! Would love to use that music but copyright issues would strike ! ;)
@@RMCV_CHANNEL Good choice though.
Great make 👏👍 I should try and make one 🤩
Thanks ! Go ahead ! This is very easy to print and it has lots of presence after finished. By the way, you have a good channel. I've subbed. :)
Great Vid! Even better model ❤️. Did you make the decals yourself? Any chance you can share?
Thanks mate !!! Yes, I’ve made the decals. You have the decals on the thingiverse link on comment section in this video. Check the “thing files”.
@@RMCV_CHANNEL ah great found them :) thanks
Wow one of the best things I've seen printed! Are you able to share the .stls you used?
Hi ! Thanks !!!! I'm in the process of remixing everything and upload it to thingiverse. I will let you know when it is available.
Hi ! I've just released the .stl. You can find it in video description.
@@RMCV_CHANNEL Thank you so much and with decals! You're the best! 👍👍👍
Awesome! Do you know how much filament did you use?
Thanks !!! Don't know how much filament used but it wasn't much. Maybe 300-400 grams. The all print is completely hollow.
@@RMCV_CHANNEL Thanks!
@@RMCV_CHANNEL One more question, how did you print the smoke? I mean, what's the best way to do it? Did you use supports inside?
@@Masetto93 the smoke is printed without supports and with 2 perimeter shells max to allow the light to see through. And use white pla.
@@RMCV_CHANNEL Thank you again!
What colour did you use for the smoke?
Printed in white PLA and applied some black shadows using the airbrush. And that's all I've done on the smoke plume.
@@RMCV_CHANNEL thanks, in the video it looked like you painted it grey.
Hi This is awesome :)
Please could you send me instructions for the arduino thank you
For me too.
Thanks !!! Please check the last comment down there. There you have the code. Just copy it.
@@RodrigoVargasRJ check the last comment down there. There you have the code. Just copy it.
What scale is this SV?
1/110
Boas...
Viva ! Estive a confirmar e os ficheiros parecem-me bem. Fiz download de alguns e no simplify3d não encontro qualquer problema. Estás a imprimir à mesma escala ? Se o fizeres as paredes podem ficar demasiado finas e surgirem os buracos. Eu imprimi com layers de 0.1mm e noozle de 0.4mm. Estás a fazer o mesmo ?
Hey mate would you share the script here please ? i know nothing about Adruino so i have a lot of struggle thanks a lot

@@RMCV_CHANNEL thanks a lot mate
@@RMCV_CHANNEL will you be able to share how it connects to the arduino nano, please 🙏
@@delluks1234 you can check the image on this link: www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/mlc-downloads/downloads/submissions/64467/versions/2/previews/html/NeoPixelExample_Gradient.html
@@RMCV_CHANNEL ok but I add the library as described no dumb gives to compile for arduino nano please help for 3 days with this I'm trying
Alsome
hello smoke can you tell me your print settings ?
It was printed on a Creality Ender 3 using PLA with these settings:
0.4mm noozle, 0.1mm layer height, 90mm/s
@@RMCV_CHANNEL Did you use support? Did you write in vase mode? can you give details?
@@3DKitchenHouse No supports and it wasn't printed in vase mode. It is a very easy print.
