No one can replace Kishore Kumar
Many kishores will come in the future but not Rafi sahib, Mukesh sahib, Hemant Kumar sahib, Talat Mehmood sahib and mana day. The reason being that Kishore Kumar is not a classically trained singer. A few KK songs are classical eg. KUCH TO LOG KAHENGAY. Notations of this song cannot be done without an expert ustad. Other singers learned clasdicals from expert ustads. So many of their songs need a great classical knowledge. Where in case of KK. You can easily play a song on harmonium. So lack of ustads can't peoduce other singers except kk. I can sing all singers very well.that is my own experimental verification.

1.30-1.32, the stuck and struggling kite is used a metaphor for struggle during end of life. Hats off to Hrishida sir the director. I was only 8 years during this movie. I started crying in theatre during song itself !. After the movie, I repeatedly remembered only this song despite the V sad end of movie. I am 57 now, this song and its picturization still has a v deep impact on everyone due its deep meaning.

In this film Kishore sang 3 songs one is this one, 2 is Nadia se daria and 3rd. one is Diye jalte hai. All are in totally 3 different moods. Such a versatile singer I have not seen and such a versatile MD like RD..I have not seen. All the other MDs and Singers of that golden era were greats but these 2 were just above all the others in their own field because they were unpredictable and could do anything what others even could not imagine in dream. Therefore they are still now at the top.

Originally this song was to be sung and picturised on Raza Murad in the movie but on hearing it the late Rajesh Khanna persuaded the director to rewrite the situation and picturise it on him instead.
