This has long been my favorite of Rachmaninov's Preludes and one of my most-loved solo piano works. I've now heard this and the recorded version, and both are wonderfully lyrical and tender. Nobody plays the piece so movingly. Thank you, Mr. McCawley.

Aah.. gorgeous, thanks so much Leon! I well remember that bottom D in the left hand, and having to travel two octaves up in every bar... I remember mastsering it after some persistent practising blind. Will you not let us hear a couple of the pieces you would have played yesterday..? Please? xx
