For people doing this quest now --> After lord daquarius you have to go to the mage of zamorak (complete dialog) --> Then go back to lord daquarius to get the information out of him (possibly will have to kill 2-3-4 guards for him to speak) , then you will have the dialog in canafis. I stopped playing the game for a year, and don't remember what I was doing. But I know I was in the middle of this quest, because I'm standing in Canafis bank, with a CommOrb and a cream coloured wizard hat in my inventory.

You don't know how lucky you are to go in Lord Daquarius room and not have a SINGLE black knight in there attacking you. Holy shit every world is full of agro knights in that room
If you don't want to carry so many teleports use an Air staff, Tome of fire, Rune pouch with Law, Earth and water runes. This will cover most of the teleports in the standard spell book. The only ones it doesn't is Ape Atoll and Kourend Castle.
PSA: In the beginning steps of the quest, you must speak to Lord Daquarius in Taverly dungeon first before the zammy mage. If you show up to varrock and the zammy mage isn't there- go north of edgeville a few steps into the wildy. talk to the zammy mage. he will tell you this is not the place to talk and to meet him in varrock. he will be there back at the altar in varrock again. then you can continue on with your quest

If anyone is doing this quest now, Im doing on POH world with a bunch of teleports to house then use peoples houses to get around RS! that way I dont need every time he has!

READ THIS When u talk the guy in falador park the third time - rember to press " contact on the orb" Now go to Lord Daquarius in taverly dungeren ( pass the axes and the hill giants ) AND NOT THE ZAMMY MAGE IN VARROCK! You need to have pressed to " contact option and then option nr 1. before the lord daquarius will talk to you and you can kill the black night to get him to talk, when he tells you " please don't kill any more of my men. You now have to speak to the zamorak mage! - have 20 pure essence unoted in ur inventory. the rest of the quest is on point as in the slayermusiq1 guide -
my final scan with the commorb was in the lumby swamp cave with the frogs. i failed the agility rock and my candle went out, i scanned and he appeared and spawned the black knight, but because i didnt have a light source i couldnt attack it so i teleported out and the pure essence went into my inventory anyway and queued the dialogue with the savant! funny.
I had the same, go back to the black nights base, kill another black knight, and when he tells you to stop don't click on him but make sure to continue the conversation before clicking on him.
A smile on my face every time he tele's to save 5 seconds... a true osrs hero
