The Elder Scrolls Timeline Explained by Dagoth Ur

- Dagoth Ur, with dripping sarcasm, cynically dissects the six eras of the Elder Scrolls universe, recounting their major events while deriding the follies of gods, men, and mer alike, offering a caustic commentary on Tamriel's intricate history. Marvel at the Elder Scrolls Timeline in Dagoth Ur completely unbiased rendition. Surely the history will write itself.

I came to mourn the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned.
but if you mourn the tribe unmourned...
then they arent unmourned anymore you fool!
But if you are coming to mourn them, are they still the Tribe Unmourned? Because “Unmourned” means no one mourns them, and you are someone. Hmmm….
@@AlphaWolf096 the seventh house and the tribe mourned
Ah, I think you meant "Honor the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned"
It looks like the Tribe Unmourned has just become the Tribe Unhonoured... That's fine, so long as it's not the Tribe Unprepared...
Dagoth Ur's accent is all over the place. Are you trying out slightly different parameters to make him sound more British?
How can you casually alter the accent of a god? What a grand and intoxicating innocence.
bold of you to assume a god only has one accent... he has them all
What a pure and intoxicating innocence
This channel provides the best Dagoth AI, imo. Hearing him use profanity the first 3 times is funny, but it gets tiresome quickly. The real humor lies in Lord Dagoth using sophisticated language to speak of absurd topics.
Agreed. If the 6th house were to thrive it would be an ash covered cosmopolitan utopia where priests and paupers would debate theology, cosmology and art.
no your just mad
And then, the flase god, Akatosh, decides to say decipher this every once in a while and causes a dragon break making the jobs of historians harder than it is needed to be😊
Thank the Gods we have the Jills (could be Jiils) 💯 The females dragons which fix dragon breaks.
Fleek god
Yeah Bethesda having a company policy where they leave it very ambiguous of what the true ending of the previous game was has come back to bite them in the butt a few times
And that's best on display with 1996 Elder scrolls 2 Dagger fall which had I think 7 endings:
1) Hammerfell's city of Sentinel gains control over the Numidium Brass God
2) Daggerfall's city of Wayrest gains control over the Numidium Brass God
3) Orsinium gains control over the Numidium Brass God
4) Daggerfall's city of Dagger fall gains control over the Numidium Brass God
5) The Empire gains control of the Numidium Brass God for the Second time, and conquers all of tamriel with it AGAIN, a feat not seen since the times of Tiber Septim
6) The King of Worms, Mannimarco gains control over the Numidium Brass god and uses it to ascend himself into godhood and becomes an orbiting celestial planet body much like the 9 Divines
7) the power source of the Numidium Brass God, the Heart of Underking, the former Battle mage of Tiber Septim now turned an undead lich is reunited with his body and he is allowed to finally rest eternally and the Numidium Brass God is made forever useless and inactive
Now then trying to make all of them come true at once was a HORRIBLE attempt at retconning and use of a Deus ex machina
If you ever want to get to writing take a lesson from Bethesda and NEVER do what they did in 1996
now i know more about nirns history
and i have dagoth ur to thank
good video
Lord Dagoth has answered my prayers, and provided a sermon on the aurbis timeline.
I love how the Dragon Breaks are basically just a huge monkey wrench designed to make the lore even more complicated than it alredy is lol
I've watched plenty of videos explaining the ages in tamriel and this is unironically the best one.
Wait, what mechanical heart!?!?
I must know!
Probably paid mod (AE) content. Same with the Oblivion Gate.
@@Shadethewolfy *sad sigh* f***ing creation club
I say "probably", as I don't know. But yeah, that's probably a warranted response.
Looking through the content now; I can safely say that yes, the quest "The Cause" (wherein the Mythic Dawn tries to build a new Oblivion Gate) is indeed Creation Club content. Haven't found the mechanical heart quest, yet.
Ahh, okay looking into it, it seems that the Mechanical Heart is part of Legends content, which looks like some kind of online card game?@@jacktaylor6253
Dagoth Ur is enemies with the Nerevar, and yet here he is educating us on the entire timeline without even objecting.
What a great guy. I think he's just pretending to not like the sweet Nerevar.
If only Dagoth had never fallen and had Azura given a damn about that meteorite..
They had HOW MANY years to mine the damn thing out of the sky?
It was a display of power and unspoken threat. For someone that self obsessed as that lot why would they do anything?
15:57 Wait, what? Did I miss a cavern in my 3000 hours of playtime!?
4:36 such eloquent speech...that is how one truly honors the sixth house
I think I'm responsible for all the bad stuff that happens. Why? I cause a dragon break every time I attack a merchan in Skyrim. If a merchant doesn't have what I want, I quicksave, attack the merchant, load quicksave which changes the merchant's inventory . . .and since the inventory reset rarely gives me what I want on the first attempt, multiple attacks on the merchant and dragon breaks(reloading quick save) must occur.
This guy 10 years ago:
Oh well, let's look for another merchant...
Today:
*I.Dont.Have.Time.For.This.*
Skyrim: find another merchant... immersion
Skyrim se: craft it yourself... even if it makes no sense
Skyrim ae: cheat because now I'm just waiting for tes6
Tes6: merchants no longer sell random items
He left out the part where black marsh controls ~half of morrowind.
Long live Argonia!
Is this how you honor the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned?
@@cowboydan507 this is how I honor them, yes. You honor them your way, I will honor them my way.
History began at the birth of our Lord dagoth ur everything before that was a mistake
I can only imagine his reaction at waking to a world gone to hell and everything he cared for was dust
"The Sixth House is risen and lord Dagoth is its glory!"
Some lovely use of language in this sermon. Ever the painter with words, Lord Dagoth.
One thing I hate about video games lore is that absolutely EVERYTHING written in in-game books and the such is taken as law
Never addresses the problem that it must have been written by someone and thus could be full of bullshit
Unreliable narrator
@@ZakeandZachi have to wonder if the night of tears was really as unprovoked as nords claim
Loved that "Races of Nirn" chart but it should be noted that the Ayleids are NOT dead in Elder Scrolls lore. They became the Wild Elves and are still around - at least at the time of the Oblivion Crisis. They're in hiding - just in case Pelinal Whitestrake is still around looking for them.
I wonder what long game Dagoth Ur is playing at here, continuing the lie of Aldmeris being an actual place.
That "Old Ehlnofey" refers to both the proto-mer and Aldmeris lends credence to the idea that the latter was not a place, but a concept: the original culture of the united mer.
i love the mitra avatar being used to depict the neumidian
God I cannot wait to sack Orsinium, again, in TES VI
Did i miss a skyrim dlc? I dont remember a mechanical heart at all
this teaches us one very important lesson over all... Akatosh is a huge pain to historians everywhere.
Gabba Gandalf hereby honours the sixth house and the tribe unmourned
This isn't a criticism, but a question. Is it possible to specify the pronunciation of specific words? Hearing Nedes ("needs") spoken as "needies" always jars me for a moment.
How can you correct the pronunciation of a god, what a grand and intoxicating innocence
@@armeldir4569 What a fool I am.
My Deepest Thanks Lord Dagoth Ur
Hotel azura deadric reunion when?
beautiful!
I will always love how Dagoth is so skeptical and dismissive to the deeds of the gods and history in general hes like Alex jones but a greyskin elf man

Daddy dagoth providing the best sermons in all of morrowind
When I hear of house Cameron I wonder where the MadCats are.
I drank so much coffee that day 😂
I have come to honor the sixth house and the Tribe unmourned.
very nice mr dagoth
I didn't know Dagoth Ur returned at a later date.
Not like i know anything but knowing Vivec i wouldn't be suprised if he is stuck in some Oblivion realm busy fucking something weird
I'm certain that Vivec has spent some time in the Myriad Realms of Reverie at one point or another.
God, I love the writing.
“what a grand and intoxicating innocent.”
“is this how you honor the sixth house unmourned?” 💀
So at the beginning of a kalpa do the aedra have to be tricked by lorkhan again or does it begin at merethic era
Thank you for the sermon Lord Dagoth
The dwemer collectively awakened from the dream.
I do wish Lord Dagoth would give a in-depth description of the farm tools he uses.
I care not for the messy timelines of the "Howard eras". I come to look upon the Heart, as our Lord allows it, and to behold the sermons of the God, Lord Dagoth Ur. There is no honoring the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned by assuming any intelligent design from the n'wah false gods. To assume they had the mental fortitude to cobble together a plane of existence awash in potential is nothing more than grand and intoxicating innocence.
I come from the future to honor the sixth house and the tribe unmoured
if i'm not remembering wrong here, sinistral elves are not ehlnofey, as i have come to understand the left handed elves are the only elves with no ties to the old ehlnofey, we have no information on them, so to put them among the ehlnofey is very presumptious.. in some descriptions they don't even look like elves as they are the "wrong elves" aka left handed elves... meaning elves who, aren't right, elves following the wrong path, or elves who aren't elves... in other words
i quote:
The Lefthanded elves are never seen, but since Yokuda was barren, hot and rocky, they likely had dark skin.
They also probably had dark hair and eyes. Some Lefthanded elves may have had tattoos on them.
Fact is we do not know what they were, what they looked like, or how they acted towards others besides what we had from the ragada history
(since they hopefully got wiped out when yokuda was going down, we probably wont ever know, but there is some hints to the fact they may, i repeat may have a link to the maormer)
camelworks mentions that they are not related to the altmer in any way in this video:
czcams.com/video/YCyc7rRktBU/video.html
I write down in the patchment to honor the 6th house and the tribe unmourned.
Wait oblivion portal in skyrim! how the fuck did I miss that
wait what dlc is that mythic dawn remnants thing from?
It's a quest available at level 46.
I've come to listen to the sermons of the Dreamer and drink sujamma, and I'm all out of sujamma.
Veri qudd❤❤
I didn't know the mythic dawn was in skyrim, I got the obligatory 1000 hours, as well as the entire history you also taught me something about Skyrim
It was just creation club bullshit.
@@aspiringgirl4422 thanks for letting know, I legit hate creation club and everything todd does to ruin this once great series
Coffee? Not Sujamma?
I never played Morrowind, though I really want to, and I'm not able to play it currently, sadly... But damn me if I don't honor the Sixth House and the tribe unmourned
History is written by the winners.
R.i.p vivec city, could've survived if it was ruled by the sixth house and the tribe unmourned.
I'm confused, how are the hist an example of the creation myth and the nine devines creation story being a lie?
Why did dagoth turn British half way through
Dagoth kinda comes off as British at times
yes. I don't know how to fix it.
He is a God! How dare you compare a God to an N’wah?!
I imagine that it is because his original spoken lines were performed with a Mid-Atlantic intonation.
C0da when ❤
+5th era with c0da
The tribes were barbaric and a true regression of Mer culture, all except the Tribe Unmourned.
I came
He sounds british… or am i tripping
I prefer to ignore skyrim and ESO in context of the lore. both really messed up the timeline
What a grand and intoxicating innocence
Yooooo early
You call yourself a god so I'll make this very simple, so simple that even a god will understand. Those things you called "Dwarves" are in fact elves. Get it right because several gods have tasted my rune axe.
