- Artificial Intelligence has been in the news lately because of some recent chatbot developments. Some of the news expresses concerns about the danger of AI to the future of mankind. These concerns date back to a book by Samuel Butler entitled Erewhone published in 1872. Watch this video about the impact of AI on genealogy with some comments about what can actually be expected.
After listening to and watching most of this, this is an excellent presentation that gives a reasonable approach to the developing technology that included artificial intelligence of AI with examples in handwriting recognition, genealogy tree connections, and image creation.
Nice to learn that this isn't something new but has been around for quite awhile.

It's interesting to realize that the era of crowd-sourced census indexes is already finished. The 1960 index will be available day-of-release in 2032.
That's a lot of quarters. Just having the records online has changed the game. Can't wait for AI to help us do the research so we can validate it. So many brick walls will fall so fast. Now we just need people to performer the reasonable tests correctly.
