You can have a small waist but they aren’t as small as depicted in these arts.
You literally need room for your intestines, your uterus, your pancreas, your liver, your gallbladder, your stomach etc etc etc.
Even women who use corsets are forcing their organs to push up into their kidneys, large intestine, lungs etc.
I’m not body shaming, I’m saying his art depicted a more realistic waist line than some of the ones that where praised.

Jimmi went home because the judges didn’t find his mermaid “appealing?” Their whole discussion about how the mermaid wasn’t sexy enough creeped me out. A great kicker would have been if the tattoo was supposed to be the canvas’ wife as a mermaid.
Ya if you see most episodes with tattos of women half just go home cuz the women wasn't attractive to the judges aka had a big nose or bug forehead or was a bit bigger then a size 0

My problem with his, was a arm that's behind the head looks weird like a lot of them do. Some reason people have a hard time drawing that parts and always make it look much smaller compared to the rest of the body
I thought this was odd as well. The mermaid itself was absolutely beautiful and had good work put into it. Literally the others were missing a limb, a literal limb. And not only that it wasn’t anatomically correct and they were awkward looking. How do you choose a tattoo that’s missing limbs over Jimmie’s tattoo?

Idc what anybody says the fact that Jason got eliminated on the Griffin tattoo is absolutely fucking mind blowing. I can't even begin to fathom the thought process that went into that decision. He arguably had the best, let alone the worst. He had the most artistic version at the very least, still pissed about that to this day.
💯 It was gorgeous. I’d rock that thing all day every day. They probably just voted him off because he has a stale personality, and isn’t good for TV. Cuz there’s no way in hell that was the worst griffin tattoo. It was the BEST one.
Chris totally flipped. First he wants to send Jimmy home and give Jason tattoo of the day, then Jimmy stays with the flinching Griffin and Jason's bad ass piece gets sent home for application issues. 🤯
jasons was absolutely beautiful. it was illustrative, he made amazing choices; how he faded out that back wing to push it into the background while still keeping it separated from the rest of the body, how dynamic the pose was and the overall construction of the drawing, the saturation and contrast, the tonal gradation, the details that guide your eye through the piece (feathered head, detailed hands/talons, whispy tail)... by far the best and most creative tattoo. I would be absolutely honored to wear it and I really feel like they made an excuse to kick him out because, like someone else said, his personality doesn't bring enough drama to the show. No bullshit, might be the best tattoo I've ever seen on this show from an artistic perspective.
honestly, Jerrel's done some awesome work but his griffin's anatomy is absolutely fucked, like what's going on with those back to legs? They don't look strong they look like playdough. The silhouette is NOT strong like nunez said. For the judges to lay into Jason for "guess work" around the neck->shoulder->wing area is genuinely beyond me when Jimmy's tattoo was so stylistically simplistic that there was no making sense of what was actually happening in that same exact area (or really the rest of the piece lmao)
nunez was really like "Drawing and application matters" and then saved jimmy for application when his drawing was shit while the best drawing of the day, and no that is not arguable, was sent home. This is probably the only session I haven't watched and *i am fucking livid that they sent jason home over the best tattoo i have ever seen on this show*. Nunez really said "application come first" when application means absolutely nothing if the art behind it sucks. Tattooing is an art. You could tattoo a dick on someone and have the best application the would has ever seen and it would still be a fucking dick.

So I actually got tatted by Jason in College Station in November and he told me that he asked the producers to go home because he had Covid but it wasn’t known about until like months later. Whenever he told the producers the producers told Oliver and Chris on a microphone to send him home but Dave’s microphone wasn’t working so he was super confused as to why they were sending home the best tattoo. Later in the day Dave found out about it and apologized to Jason sayin he didn’t know what was goin on. So yeah that was like my first question when I met the guy lol
That 84 year old lady getting a tattoo is awesome, and I would love to see the reactions of her family to this new tattoo
I actually like Jimmy's mermaid. I met a part-time mermaid who actually looks like that. She didn't have much in the ways of curves, she had a more square jaw, but she was gorgeous overall and was an excellent performer. Not all mermaids have to be petite and super feminine to look beautiful.
Same! There are women out there with not super curvy bodies, thicker necks, and square jaws. I feel like sometimes with their critiques are overly stereotypically feminine but being feminine doesn’t mean being petite with an hourglass. Like some of us are squarer -> speaking of that, Amanda should’ve went home for her mermaid.

I still don't understand why they canceled this show. I understand the drama with Peck, but surely they could've gotten another judge, perhaps an actual Ink Master winner. One of the very few shows I actually liked. I never liked most of the forced drama, but was always there for the ink.
It was because of the pandemic, they’re coming back soon.

No matter what the judges say. Many of these tattoos are ABSOLUTE killer tattoos. Especially the griffins are amazing.

Jimmy’s mermaid should have had a longer tail to balance it out, but the anatomy was wonderful and so was the shading. The hair and the face were perfect!! I really like the detail he put in her abdomen. He shaded around the muscles to define her anatomy and make her realistic. Wish he’d emphasized the fish part though

I think with the judging they need the perspective of what would a normal person think of this tattoo. With the griffins I completely disagree with Jason getting eliminated bc to the average person it looks sick as absolute fuck. To be fair all of them were definitely good, none of them were obviously bad but I think Jason’s was much better than the cowardly ones
As far as I'm aware lots of people in situations like that are happy with the tattoo they get. Heck, I'd be happy, ecstatic even with Jason's griffin tattoo. I think it looks sick and I don't really see an issue with the chest. But this is Ink MASTER. I'm certainly no master at technicality or even proportions so I guess it's held to an extremely high standard. Still, I'm greatly disappointed with Jason being eliminated.

The way they rag ppl on knowing traditional ways of tattooing, until it's Cleen, then he gets tattoo of the day while not following traditional rules. I'm not denying Cleen's artistry, but sometimes that annoyed me.

What still always blows my mind is when the canvases start arguing with the artists about what’s going to look best and where the design should be placed and how it’s going to age… like this is what they do, this is what they’ve trained for ..: they might have an idea what they’re talking about

I have mermaid tails, know a few other mermaids myself-none of us look like stereotypical finfolk. I think the tail could have been a bit longer for balance reasons but I really liked his design.

And it's so unprofessional to tell a client they have "bad skin" and openly display your resentment at getting them for your canvas, like Sausage did to his.And he did it more than once. Everyone has a different threshold for pain. Once you have kidney stones or appendicitis or an untreated abcessed tooth or give birth your pain tolerance completely changes
I'm not into tattoos and I'll probably never get one. but I am a fan of art and the artist who makes them. This is really a compelling show.

Yeah, money mikes was terrible. Patrick’s was one of the best designs and his anatomy on the pinup was really good.

I probably have watched this video 10 times and I just noticed that the lady that Jason did his crazy fairy on is the same one that Aaron tattooed in his grudge match with Katie. You can see his banana design on her other leg.
We’re these canvases (for the fairies) from other seasons because I’m noticing a lot of tattoos from previous ones.
Only thing bad/ugly about Jimmy’s mermaid was her tail DID need to be longer. But saying “she’s not appealing/sexy” is fucking WEIRD. She looks like a real, beautiful person.

19:12 as someone who loves drawing wings - the front wing has no shoulder, that‘s the issue. There is a shoulder blade missing growing out of the horse to connect the wing.

I agree that Jimmy's Griffin didn't look tough at all, but it was close to perfect on technical application day. I also think sausage should have gone home for the dragon tattoo and not Megan Jean. Was very hard to read his tattoo. I understand that the scale patterns were off on Megan's, but Sausage had pretty much the same tone throughout the whole tattoo

To be fair, maybe they didn't know that they were called "Griffins." I mean, a Griffin is grouped in mythological hybrids and I'm pretty sure they are aware of that. It's seen in traditional tattooing and in tattoos of ancient Gods from various religions.
So yeah, I'm pretty sure they have an idea of what it is but didn't know the actual name for them.

Anyone else feel that this last season kept a lot of new artists around longer than they should’ve? Kay, Jessa, Jordi, etc. I don’t think it had anything to do with the tattoos.
Maybe it was the teams this year, because both Jason and Jimmy CARRIED their entire team. And to lose Jason for THAT tattoo. He should’ve gotten tattoo of the day for that! I miss the show, but I do feel like it became less and less about the tattoos over time.

I have a phoenix tattoo as a cover up and I do like it but it has the more cartoon smoke in the flames and some flames have outlines and other parts don’t but it’s much better than what was there so I still am proud of it.
This has always been one of my favorite shows. So many great tattoo artists have been on this show. I would love to get a tattoo from. But I only want so many more tattoos. I have already spent way to much money on ink already.

Yeah Tony’s was the worst one to me. In my opinion Tiffer should have won that season, not Tony. And I agree he should’ve been sent home over Jimmy.
