He's basically busting this out live when 90% of the guitar players recording albums would need dozens of takes to get it this clean. Assuming that they could even touch it to begin with. Dude is a monster. I'm still offended that he let Ralph Macchio win in that Crossroads duel.
I don't think you lost I think he's got a lot of heart and soul and he knows sometimes it's okay to give somebody else a chance to be recognized when you knows he's already been recognized

Basically he just mounts a mobile phone on a stand, runs a background theme, and starts jamming. Then he uploads to CZcams. Just like totally casual. Gifting skills that are both innate and coming from super hard work. You can only be in awe. Thank you!
I just love it how there's only 12 different notes in all, and everyone who's involved with western music has to work with the exact same 12 notes, but some of those notes seem to be exclusively Vai notes. This is a sign of an impeccable musical identity. I became a fan as a teen in early nineties and although my musical taste blew up in all directions, whenever I come across anything Vai, I get this feeling of being in the presence of a supreme musical entity. Don't ever change big guy. Holy shit, this is what peak guitar looks like even after all these years.
Always a treat to listen to Steve play....
Stunning performance! Thanks Maestro!!!
This is what ’in-total-control-of-the-guitar’ looks like. Viva Vai!
I love the way he moves around, like he's floating
He lives it for sure
Theres few people in this world who find something they love just as much as Steve Vai loves playing guitar.
Still one of my fav songs .
Keep kicking ass Steve
The groove in that riff is timeless - a true classic
That green PIA is just lovely.
Excellent as always 🎉
Awesome version - this has always been one of my favourite Vai tunes. Bravo Steve 👏
all you young kids out there: don't try this at home. you'll just hurt yourself. I love this video. It helps my low moods. Steve is very funny when he wants to be.
I can confirm this is true
He's basically busting this out live when 90% of the guitar players recording albums would need dozens of takes to get it this clean. Assuming that they could even touch it to begin with. Dude is a monster. I'm still offended that he let Ralph Macchio win in that Crossroads duel.
The operative word being LET.
Ralph not only has guitar chops, he knows karate chops, and that may have made Steve back down and let him win :)
Let´s all just face it,- Steve lost to Ralph at guitar..... eat it and smile....
I don't think you lost I think he's got a lot of heart and soul and he knows sometimes it's okay to give somebody else a chance to be recognized when you knows he's already been recognized
Well technically he was playing against himself because he played both parts so he actually let himself win hahahaah
Magnificent performance 👏👏👏
Merci Steve! Tu es toujours un sacré tueur !
Oh man... 40 years and he is still the best guitarist of them all. So clean... even when you think is goofing around, still sounds so clean. Unbelievable.
There is this guy from New Jersey named Michael Romeo....
Sure. He is one of the best. But for me Joe Satriani is more easy listening.
My hero!
Mine too♥️
My god
John frusciante is better

One of my favorite all time Steve Vai songs.
How can you not love this dude...
the pia looks so good! the green one is honestly my favorite of the pia guitars
Aiden Cantrell ....what's a Pia please?...
neoaureus the name of steve vais new signature guitar
It’s called Envy Green for a reason. ;)
Literally had goosebumps when the horse neighed in the beginning. Legendary song! Legendary guitar player!
Hlo adit sir , you're doing amazing with your lessons for beginners
I like there's no words or chatting... just music. Awesome SV.
Love this guy! Saw him in the city once when I was younger and blew me away.
Basically he just mounts a mobile phone on a stand, runs a background theme, and starts jamming. Then he uploads to CZcams. Just like totally casual. Gifting skills that are both innate and coming from super hard work. You can only be in awe. Thank you!
Once the best.......always THE BEAST !
Grande Maestro 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
This is legendary, a truly masterpiece
Played this to my dog....he is now a mystical wolf.
I played it to my grandma’s black stallion foal…he’s now a fully grown cob who pulls British artillery guns…
“Where is my whammy?? Where did it goooo???” - Stevie T
been scrolling down for this
WHERE IS MIAMI ? LOL
Maurer Aleixo Its in Florida with my whammy bar
Now i canot hear the song without thinking about that
I cant unhear it
isn't it cool we all get to be alive during the era of the Steve Vai et al. amazing time for electric guitar enthusiasts.
Absolutely incredible. What a legend.
I humbly succumb to you greatness, thank you, Steve.
To be fair, his brilliant use of the whammy bar and his insane control of string bends opens him up to quite a few notes in between our boring western 12 :) I love this video and the tapping at 4:30 is one of my favorites I’ve ever heard.
yet try to play it n its hard 2 master
@@andrewkoss297 that tap section is sublime he approaches tapping unlike many his use of vibrato gliss & complete confidence in the instrument is matched by very few
Totally agree - Vai has basically trademarked and patented Lydian at this stage! Love his sound.
